Insurances That Pay for Home Care Services
1 Video View·Oct 23, 2024
This is Coach Michelle coming to you from the ATL. What's up? What's up? What's up? What's up?
Today's video, again, this one is pulled. This one is actually the last one on my sheet. Remember,
I showed you guys my sheet. I pulled, or actually Michelle, one of my team members,
pulled a list of questions from our private Facebook group. So this is the last one.
So if you guys have questions, comments, please jot them down below. So today's video,
video number four, is what insurance companies pay for home care services?
Guys, there's so many. So I'm just going to list a few of them because there are so many,
and I don't know all of them. I can give you, well, let me just get into it and give it to you.
So if you're here for the first time, what's up? What's up? What's up? If you are returning,
if you are returning, come on in. There's room for all of you. Yes. So the first one,
let me just say this, guys. Everybody want to accept insurance, which is great, but baby,
please know, and please trust and believe me, private pay is the number one source.
So don't say, oh, in my area, it's just Medicaid. I don't necessarily think that's true. There may
be a lot. However, if you have franchises in your area, if you have franchises in your area,
I'm going to tell you that there's private pay in there. That's all I'm saying. I'm not
going into detail, but that's what I'm telling you. So the first one, as far as insurance,
I love long-term insurance. So I'm going to say long-term insurance, number one.
Number two, workers' comp. This video is going to be about five minutes, if that.
So number one, long-term insurance. Number two, workers' comp. Baby, you get them long-term
insurance and the workers' comp, they with you forever, especially workers' comp, workers' comp.
Come here. You have to tell a secret. Workers' comp will be with you till death do you part.
I'm telling you, you treat them right, and if they are your ideal client, guys, they do not leave
because they have benefits. I haven't come across any where the benefit expires. I'm just telling
you that, a little inside. I ain't telling everybody, I'm just telling you. So definitely,
you want to get those workers' comp cases and work with those clients.
So again, I'm going to repeat this because this number one and two, they are worth repeating.
Number one, long-term insurance. Get them long-term insurance. They are amazing.
Number two, workers' comp. Number three, I'll say Medicaid waivers. Medicaid waivers, number three,
check them out. Find out what Medicaid waivers are available in your state and definitely look
into them, except you already know the two states that I say no to, Louisiana and Texas.
They both are in that $11 range reimbursement. Guys, you can't even pay a caregiver $11.
So how are you going to make money and serve and be prosperous and be able to serve your community
and your church and everyone else that's within your giving range, if you will,
if you can't even pay your caregiver? You can't even stay afloat. So until Texas and Louisiana
change their reimbursement rate, I say stay away, guys. So that's number three.
Number four, I would say Medicare Advantage. Medicare Advantage is a good way to get clients
and most of the time, many times, I'll say many times, they are veterans and or may have long-term
insurance and or may be able to pay for services. So I would say Medicare Advantage. And then I'm
going to jump into foundations. Yes, guys, there are literally foundations out here that pay for
home care services, pay for respite services. So you just got to do your due diligence because they
are out there. And the last one I would say is managed care organizations. If you're through
some type of Medicaid program or something that's available, a third-party payer in your area,
many of them like thinking about Pennsylvania, thinking about Tennessee, right? So you will
need to, once you get approved and get your Medicaid number, you need to go through and
sign up with these managed care organizations. And then there are different type of insurance
companies as well. Sometimes they're major medical insurance companies. I want to be really careful
saying that because major medical insurance companies follow the guidelines of Medicare
and Medicare doesn't pay for the services that we all render. However, there are some
insurance companies that are under managed care organizations or may be a managed care organization
that will pay for home care services if it's through a program that you're a part of. So I
hope that didn't confuse you, but it makes perfect sense to me. So I would say definitely
get out there and do your due diligence and get all the facts. Like I mentioned in the last video,
you want to know exactly what the reimbursement rates are, what the credentialing process is,
the turnaround time on claims and all of those things. And then VA, I can't forget VA, right?
One, two, three, four, and daughter-in-laws are VA, right? Veterans and still active military
personnel. So you definitely want to look into the VA so you can go directly to the VA. There
are some companies that will help you through the aid and attendance program. So there are many
different options available. Then of course they have the VA with UnitedHealthcare. They are closed
in some states, I've been told. However, connect directly with the VA hospital. So there are many
different options available. So I think I may have called off one, two, three, four, five, six,
six or seven third-party payers. And those are the top. I'm pretty sure there are others,
but those are the top that we worked with. And those are the top that I would recommend you guys
get into. However, again, I strongly recommend private pay as the number one source.
But again, it may vary. I mean, I have clients, I have a client that, well, I have several clients
that do very well with the Medicaid program. So I'm not against it by any means. I'm just saying
that's not the number one source from a national perspective, right? So it could be different in
your specific county, right? Your local area. However, there are private pay clients and there
are clients that are out here more than enough for all of us to be successful that can afford
to pay privately. So I hope this has brought some value to you guys. Jot down below and let me know.
