Hi. Today we're doing a quick review of this Organic Prince of Peace Oolong Tea. And I like
this tea. I've been drinking it for a good while. It has a really nice flavor and it is a very good
value as far as oolong teas go. And this is a 100 count box and it has a total of 6.35 ounces of tea
in it. And if you've looked at your tea and you've seen what you get for your money, you'll realize
that this is a good value when you compare it to other teas that might be of the same kind or
quality. This is what the pouch that the bag comes in looks like. And we'll take a look at the bag
here in a second. Give you a quick look inside to see. Comes inside the 100 count box here and this
is organic quality. And they say that they keep their prices lower by spending less on advertisements
so that they can basically just put the energy and effort into the quality of the tea. And I guess
that is meant to be spread by word of mouth. So there you have it. Here is what the tea bag looks
like and you can see it's an unbleached tea bag. Sometimes I like to take mine out of the tea bags
anyway just to be able to experience the flavor in a different way. And then use a simple filter,
something like this, to really strain it out good because this has very small pores and when you
pour your tea or when you pour your water with tea in it through here, it really strains out
all of the granules pretty well. I also just wanted to point out really quick here on the
left is your oolong tea. Here on the right is a white tea and I put them together so you could
kind of see the color difference. Oolong is a little darker and I'll explain a little bit more
about how they are made so that you understand what the differences are because they all can't
come from the same plant. On the left is the white tea and on the right is the oolong. Just seeing if
you can see the slight color difference there. So one of the things that separates out oolong tea
from green tea is the fermentation process or you could say with green tea the lack of
fermentation and with black tea and oolong tea the fermentation. And what that really comes down to
is them kind of bruising the leaves up a little bit and letting them oxidize faster and that
maybe wouldn't be fermentation in the same sense that you would think of in alcohol fermentation
but it's a breakdown process and it brings out different flavors. Black tea being the one that is
a longer fermentation process and oolong tea like we're looking at from Prince of Peace today
that has a shorter fermentation process or less oxidation than black tea. Kind of in the middle.
For whatever reason though when you compare green tea to black tea to oolong tea, oolong tea seems
to be one of the most flavorful and generally not so bitter. So let's go ahead and give this a taste.
I figure you've seen my reaction to tasting it. I can give you kind of a better understanding of
what it's like and in the moment I can tell you whether it's bitter or not. Yeah and a three minutes
total brew time is what I'm going for. It might be three and a half minutes but I find that the
shorter brewing times less bitters and so this brewed for about three minutes and then I let it
sit for about four to five minutes after just to let it cool up to six minutes. For whatever reason
that period of oxidation that is used with an oolong tea it just has more flavor than black or
green tea and it's what I found my kids like more for example. So that's my review of the Prince of
Peace oolong tea which I think is a very good tasting oolong tea. I hope you like this review.
