Tsitsipas Battles Cerundolo; Shelton, Shapovalov & Rune Feature 💪 | Basel 2024 Highlights Day 2

Oh, that is just a point of the highest quality from Stefanos Tsitsipas. He mentioned last week how proud he was of his defensive abilities and they were all on show. Yeah, and finished with a flourish. No surprise that coach is up on his feet. Slom, a bit of a disaster game for Francisco Cirundulo. Cheering him on, all the doubles together. Oh, it's from Cirundulo, never easy. Well, it's quite amazing how tennis works. Stefanos Tsitsipas must feel like he should be out of sight, almost off court. And from Francisco Cirundulo, Stefanos Tsitsipas had chance after chance to go up the double break in that second set. He didn't take it. Oh, it's big, big injection of pace. Heart was in his mouth there, Tsitsipas, but it... Oh, how did he get to the baseline? He was at full stretch. Yeah, it's nice he controls. Well, somehow Stefanos Tsitsipas has booked his spot in the next round. It looked as though he was going to do it. And he's got him in the end. Clever stuff from Shelton. So Shelton now breaks. Oh, what a baseline point to win. Wraps it up nicely. 34 minutes on the clock. Didn't get all of that. That's what he wanted on the previous one in that court. Oh, it's come off the back of the line. Yeah, he's always going to chase that down. Superb return with Shelton bearing down on the net. He's missed it. It's all gone according to plan for Ben Shelton today. One hour and 13 and his Basel debut. Yeah, volley is long. And Holger Rune breaks straight away. Yeah, beautiful move forward from Rune. Yeah, another great move from Rune. And ace number five sees Holger Rune through the opening set here. Started quickly, got the break in the opening Nicola Shari service game and didn't look back. Yeah, very sensibly just allowing that ball to bounce. That's so good from Rune hitting the ball beautifully. Such a great forehand up the line that he hit under pressure there at 30. Stability. Nicola Shari. Holger Rune just loves playing here in Basel. Semi-finalist 12 months ago. Finalist in 2022. What a well-constructed point. That's the early break of serve to the home player. Well, he's had to win that point three times. Oh, that's impressive stuff. Dominic Stricker wanting to finish off 2024 season in style. May as well grab the towel and. That's the one he missed. Almost identical to that, folks. If you weren't with us in the opening set. Speaking of placing, he's missed it. He has missed it. And maybe the resistance coming down from Telengrikspor. Oh, that's superb. Got him. Such an important win for the road back to the top 100 for Dominic Stricker.
