Game one, World Series, here we go.
Oh no, a botched grounder and Juan Soto just has to make sure they know he's there.
Hey guys, flat grounder to end the Yankees in the first.
I really hope that fan doesn't know what Julio Arias did.
And we got some groundbreaking things going on here.
Shohei Otani has officially blinked for the first time in his first World Series.
He said his first words.
Just, just look at him. Oh my god, look how amazing this is.
Just, I mean, oh my, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.
Post that, post that. MLB needs to put that out immediately.
Yeah, I know it was caught. Doesn't matter, post it.
Oh my, oh my, this is insane.
Aaron Judge strikes out to end the third. Jason Bateman is fired up.
But they didn't show his reaction to Giancarlo Stanton doing this.
Not sure what that would have been, probably something like this, though.
What the fuck?
But yeah, Stanton somehow hit this ball as hard as possible,
while simultaneously hitting it as high as possible.
I don't really know how that works, but that's not normal.
Yankees got some more guys on after this, including Jaz Chisholm,
who steals the first base of this year's World Series.
But there's no steal a base, steal a taco campaign
from Taco Bell for the World Series this year.
And I would say that because of that, there's no point in stealing a base.
But there actually is.
You see, Taco Bell is awful Mexican food and toxic.
So it's good to see Major League Baseball looking out for the people.
Go eat Chipotle.
Yankees would have scored again, but didn't, thanks to Tommy Edmonds
straight up saving a run.
Panda with a B gets out of it.
In comes Bruce Stark Radderall for the seventh, who definitely eats Chipotle.
And hey, look what it does for you.
You're able to make sick, barehanded plays like this.
Garrett Cole looking a lot like Garrett Cole in this game.
But after a Teoscar leadoff single, he's out.
Bullpen time, and Klay Holmes immediately hits Muncie.
Perfect.
But hey, bunt out, first pitch out, another pitching change.
Grounder Yankees get out of another jam.
But we got another Dodger rally in the eighth,
now kicked off by America's hero from Japan.
A leadoff double, and the ball gets thrown away while he's celebrating.
So he moves up to third, then celebrates again.
Dodgers got their first run on a sack fly.
They get their second on a sack fly.
Tie game.
Let's go to the ninth.
Glaber hits one deep, way out there.
And this Dodger fan reaches over, but unfortunately, fans can't catch outs.
It can only be players.
Like, even if it's a fan of the team on defense,
like if a Yankees fan catches it and they're on offense,
I don't really know what that would mean.
But by rule, the fan, even though right there, can't catch the ball,
even though he's a Dodger fan, it doesn't count, unfortunately.
But hey, it happens.
Clear miscommunication there.
It just is what it is.
Here comes the $360 million man and soon-to-be two-time MVP Aaron Judge
to do his thing.
Oh, he pops out.
And what do the Dodgers do?
Absolutely nothing.
Free baseball in game one.
Anyone check on Jason Bateman?
Jazz knocks another single, and I really hope he doesn't care for Taco Bell.
He's about to be real upset after this game,
as he continues to knock at the memo by stealing two more bases
before scoring to give the Yankees an extra innings lead.
The Yankees are three outs away.
Shohei is due up fourth in the 10th.
So if the Yankees get everyone out, they can avoid him.
All you got to do is...
Oh, okay.
Well, still chance for a double play,
but you might as well just take the free strike out this umpire is giving you.
Look at this.
Oh, all right.
There's your grounder.
No, just out of the reach.
Sure, he doesn't feel that cleanly.
Lux heads to third before getting sniped from the stand,
so he's got to head back.
So here it is.
Shohei Otani with a chance to either tie or win the game
in his first-ever World Series game.
Yankees bring in the lefty, Cortez, to face Otani.
It's a first-pitch pop to left that creeps foul,
only for Alex Verdugo to pull a Derek Jeter out of his ass and make the catch.
They decide to put Mookie on and load the bases for Freddie Freeman
for another lefty-lefty matchup.
So now just a base hit wins it.
That's it.
Just one singular single.
And you know what Freddie does?
Pulls a Kirk Gibson out of his ass.
Screw your single.
Walk off Grand Slam.
The first-ever in World Series history.
Alex Verdugo shattered his leg for this.
Tough scene.
What an opening to this series.
Holy crap.
Somebody, for the love of God, check on Jason Bateman.
