Hi, I'm Mats Wielander. Today I'm ranking Novak Djokovic's achievements on the tennis court.
So we're going to start with seven Wimbledon's. Seven Wimbledon's is good. It's amazing.
I'm going to stick that one down at number four. Seven Wimbledon's is unbelievably hard to do
because Roger Federer was so dominant at Wimbledon. So that's an amazing... he wasn't necessarily
Three U.S. Opens. Three U.S. Opens is going to go to number six. Three U.S. Open is surprising,
but it's at the end of the season. So it's tough for Europeans to play well at the U.S. Open for
some reason, except of course Roger Federer. But it's there. Most wins versus top ten.
I was going to stick that one down at number eight. I mean, that's a great record. The best
record against Federer and Nadal, that speaks for itself. I mean, he has a plus staff head-to-head
against every player that played sort of at his level in his generation. So that's unbelievable.
Most year end number one. Well, that one comes at number three. Pretty good achievement.
Not that he's ever aiming for it to be number one at the end of the year. I don't think it
just happens. Three. Roland Garros is definitely going in as number five, because it's a better
achievement for him to win three there than the three U.S. Opens for sure. Especially since
Rafael Nadal is so dominant here and he really didn't have a chance for most of the times.
I'm gonna leave that one there. We're gonna go most weeks at number one.
Well, I'm gonna have to be in the second spot. I'm gonna have to move one of these guys here.
I'm not sure which one. 23 Grand Slams, for obvious reasons, number one. And then there
really is no number two after that one. That's the most ATP 1000 titles. We'll put that at
ten, because not every generation had a chance to play ATP 1000 titles. But I think he's won
all of them. All surfaces. Beaten everybody. Most slam finals reached. It's gonna go...
I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna take this U.S. Open. Falls down a spot,
unfortunately, Novak. Roland Garros is number six. Number seven. Wimbledon is number five.
Ten Australian Opens is absolutely incredible, which is why he's won 23 Grand Slams, because he
starts off every year by winning the Australian Open. I've done that three times and it changes
your whole outlook on the whole year. And I always did very well at the French Open afterwards.
I had a good year when I won the Australian Open. So that's it. Number one. 23 Grand Slams,
of course. Number two. Most weeks at number one. That, as a professional player, is a huge
achievement, personally. At most year and number one, yeah, I guess. But that's the computer
putting the stuff in the right place. So you can't really do anything about that. Ten Australian
Opens. Unbelievable. Seven Wimbledons for him. It's incredible. I never thought he'd be a grass
board specialist, but he's become a grass board specialist. That one, nearly, together with Roger
Federer and most probably Pete Sampras. Three Roland Garros. I thought he might get that at
some point, but Rafa's 14 just is incredibly good. So if Rafa was somewhat normal, Novak would
have most probably had another three or four Roland Garros. He's going to be up at 26, 27 Grand Slams
already. Three US Open. I think it's the biggest disappointment if he ever has a disappointment.
I think that for Novak would be like, why on earth can I not win the US Open? Favorite surface.
But it's at the end of the year. It's tiring. And it's the last slam. And it's a tough tournament
for Europeans for sure. Most slam finals reached, again, a personal achievement where I don't know
if anyone else sort of really cares. I managed to win majors on all the three different surfaces.
Doesn't matter if it's one, two, three. However, that as a player is huge. And so I think for him
to have the most Grand Slam finals of any player is an absolutely amazing achievement personally
for him. Most wins versus top 10. That's just the day-to-day business that he runs that
is better than most people, but wouldn't put that as that important. And then most ATP 1000
titles. The incredible thing about that is that he's doing that as well. He's won the most Grand
Slams and he's won the most ATP titles. So he's been the most consistent player in the last 15
years. So yeah, I hate the expression, the goat, even though I see a goat here, I would have liked
to call it the boat race. The best of all time is Novak Djokovic. And when you start saying great,
I think more things come into it than just the sport itself. It's what you bring to the sport
and so on. And I don't think we need to separate the big dream and come to the greatest of all
time. But the best of all time we have in front of us, Novak Djokovic.
