Best of Ma Long the Table Tennis GOAT

Oh my God! Topspin's even nodding here. Adrien Matiné appreciates this, as do the spectators in the Versailles Arena. Topspin versus Topspin, and there's these kind of steep angles that Wang Hao is playing. Ma Long can bring back... Oh, burned just out of reach. Almost looking like a cartoon for a moment, trying to get his footing to chase this ball back down the middle of the table. Oh, he thought it was over! A big shot, and Ma Long is right there to bring it back into play. It takes more than a few. Would not expect him to come back, and when you can topspin the ball and get it to come underneath the net and roll across the table, an awesome display of controlled power from Ma Long, the world number one. Offside, offside, that's what we call it. That will be called an ace in tennis. Good one. When he was 10-9 up, he had a game point, he pushed it in the net, and then he pushed another service in the net. Oh! What do you call that? The backhand hit. No topspin, just hit straight through the back of the ball. Ball going all around the table, Topspin. That's a second backhand hit while he was actually running at the same time. Further and further back. Staggering! Absolutely staggering. Wow! Ma Long brings the crowd to life with that one. Too good! Ma Long fishing from under the table with a whirlwind of a counterattack to take the match. What an outstanding point. From down 7-10, Ma Long comes back to win 15-13. Four games to zero over Timo Boll. Another fantastic point. Pukic did enough to win the point two or three times against 99% of players in this tournament. But unfortunately, he's playing Ma Long. Long hitting it out wide. Oshima making several incredible shots through this point. Inside out forehand, and that ball right there put to shame. No chance of that one coming back. A well-constructed point again by Ma Long. And again, look, look. That is brutal table tennis. Both players throwing themselves into their forehand topspins. Ma Long, just look at the body action there. Look how far his arm comes through as well. Fantastic, so that the racket can come back waiting for the next shot. Xu Xin with the chopping, swooping forehand from under the table. Oh, that's a chop block. Oh, my goodness. How did he get around the backhand side to play it down the line? Look at the chop block. It's around the neck. Oh, my goodness. Oh, man. Again, the quality of these shots. Had no chance. Xu Xin just looking at his opponent. This shot recovered. Back on defense. And a short stroke out to the open court with sidespin on it as well. Ma Long does on one foot what most people can't accomplish in a lifetime on all fours. Both defense from the dictator turns into offense. Pick a wing, it doesn't matter. Finishing shot to the corner. Is Ma Long back in full form? So strong on both wings. The backhand there. Most people guide that ball back. He launches himself into both backhand and forehand topspins. Whoa. How many players in the world can do this? To play that on the parallel even is all the more difficult. To have the overlook over what's happening on the table. To have the eye on the ball but at the same time knowing where your opponent is moving. Table tennis brilliance in that point. It's like a video game for him. A shot at Ma Long with a hooking forehand. What a point. Tennis here at Suzhou. Remarkable, extraordinary rally from both men. Oh, goodness. That was worth the price of admission right there. Seeing that point live. Xu Xin on the run with the traditional backhand. Look at this. Heavy sidespin. Chopped a swooper. Played a drop shot and Ma Long recovers the point to earn match point four times over. That's the one. Xu Xin magic does not bother Ma Long. Dragon there. Ma Long quick reaction. Taking that point. I mean, what did I even witness? That was such fast, incredible attack. Ma Long saving an edge point. Exactly. Look at that. That is unreal. A second adjustment.
