hello everyone Mickey here once again
thank you very much for checking my
channel and as always I really
appreciate you taking that time
listening to me and watching me right
now
so how's your weekend my weekend was
okay so it is remembering Sunday and I
had the opportunity to pay tribute to
men and women who are sacrificing their
lives 7 in the forces around the world
and in this video I'm going to try and
paint a picture of what the reality of
war does to a soldier what a soldier and
their family goes through was there 7
but before I carry on I want to say two
things one I want to say that it is not
in my place to talk about the morality
of war it is not in my place to talk
about whether is right or whether is
wrong or whether it's justified and two
I want you to be I want you to know that
I'm aware that there are a lot of people
around the world all over the world who
one or two ways affected by the reality
of war but in this video what I'm going
to do is I'm going to pay tribute and
mourn the man or the woman or the men or
women who for the love of their country
or for the loyalty for their country
caught up in the reality of war that's
what I'm going to do so that when you
sit there today or the rest of your life
and you are observing your minute or two
silence you know you have a focal point
something to reflect on and know that
you're not doing any vain so I will
share my experience with you I had the
opportunity to do a military exercise
like a boot camp with them with the
military and they did something they
took me to the field for five days and
for us to know how they do like they
treat themselves on the war front you
know tactically so they call something
morning routine and this is like in a
bush for five days you know
into the elements open to snore up into
the you know some open to the rain and
they don't eat like a proper they call
it Russian Park you know and in the
mornings when it's cold and you have to
change your plan tear your underwear and
you have to change your socks and
sometimes when you're doing it they call
something bug out so they will someone
will play an enemy and then they'll
start shooting and you have to put
everything in your bag and run away with
it and in the heavy bag as well and it
was so uncomfortable and when I was
going through it it tell it opened my
eyes to how we take for granted certain
things like the warmth of your bed it
was only five days right but when I came
back I hugged my pillow and I realized
that we take a lot of things for granted
but one thing I was thinking when I was
going through that all uncomfortable you
know moment in the bush was the men and
women who fought in a World War one and
World War two in the trenches some of
these guys were there for weeks months
if not years I'm sure they did not have
enough socks enough underwear to last
them that long the way in the ditches
they way and when it was raining you
know just picture it when it was raining
they got their feet got rotting have you
ever tried working for a whole day in a
wet boots you know in when you have wet
socks wet fields for a whole day how
uncomfortable it feels these guys I'm
sure did it for weeks and months and if
they were smokers right when they run
out of facts when they ran out of
cigarettes where they haven't enough
supplies when you don't smoke for five
minutes when you don't smoke for a day
how do you feel these guys have to stay
there and wait for supplies and if they
came you know and nowadays soldiers have
got good kids you know more advanced you
know gloves and stuff
like that to keep them warm how did
these men and women how did these
soldiers kept warm how did they keep
warm
so basically they sign up to say to give
their life away for their country right
and it's thinking about that
it's not easy and another thing was I my
wick I was privileged enough for my work
to take me to Afghanistan and I worked
alongside these guys guys and when we
talk about Afghanistan what comes to
mind is the heat it was so hot that I
drank a lot of water and I wasn't even
normally when you drink a lot of water
you have to urinate
I was not urinating I don't know much
about the amount I'm not on the human
are not on me about the only thing I can
say is instead of my the water that I
was drinking going through my kidney and
my bladder it was being evaporated out
of my skin the sweat I had the I was in
a place that they come busting right and
it was fairly safe compared to those
outside so I was able to work you know
with my shirt off and stuff like that
and it got me thinking about the guys
who goes out on patrol wearing their
four kids where in your body ammo so
wearing their body ammo and I got the
weight of the body ammo and the old ones
with seven kilos the new ones now 4.7
kilograms
they were wearing helmets that weighs
two kilograms or one kilo 1.5 kilograms
and then the way they have to carry all
their kids they have to carry radios
they have to carry ECM they have to
carry extra batteries for the radio they
have to carry a struggle or they have to
carry water they have to carry food and
if you are the lead man you carry your
gun and some of the gun did
one of them is called gpmg
general-purpose machine gun and I
googled anyways tend to 11 kilos can you
believe that some of these guys some of
these women are barely men and women
some of these are only 18 year old and
they have to carry that they have to
think about the weight that burden so
the heats the weight on their body on
their back on their knees and they have
to carry the gun and they have to walk
how and they have to tell their minds to
forget about all this uncomfortable you
know the weights and the heat and they
have to think about the a military drill
they have to look around their
surroundings right and make sure that no
one shoots them think about that when
you are observing your mini silence
think about that and apart from looking
around and making sure that no one kills
them they have to be mindful of where
they put their food where they step
because of something they call ie D an
improvised improvised explosive device
it's like a bomb that people plant that
when you step on the a explodes so after
all the heat how do you look around to
make sure that no one wants to kill you
how do you look and then also think
about the ground where you are stepping
the heat and when they are doing
sometimes accidents do happen you know
when acident happen in your in your wet
place it is someone falling down and
then you know when acident happen in
your workplace is someone twisting and
uncle or something like that
when accident happened in a soldier's
workplace it is someone stepping on an
improvised explosive device and their
legs getting blown up it is someone
having to look at their friend's face
right and picking their legs and putting
it together waiting for the helicopter
to pick them to the hospital it is
someone watching the
getting shot think about that
taking about the bedding that all these
things happens to the men and women
think about when they come back when
they come back and one thing is thinking
about them being shot and everything
they also thinking about the rule of
engagement because every shot that they
fire has to be lawful think about that
and when the money to come back you know
ask yourself how many times how many
we're colleagues have you lost in the
last two years in your workplace and if
you did lose someone in your workplace
how much did I achieve these young men
and women the age of 18 19 20 in a space
of seven months or six and a half months
are losing at least five people guys
that they share their identity with guys
that they say in the pub with guys that
they hang around with gals that they
shared intimate secrets with they are
looking at their men their friends their
you know their comrades being shot and
they are patching them up sometimes they
pick up pieces of their body and put it
together and send it back home when you
are thinking think about when they come
back sometime when they come back they
don't come back to hero's chair
sometimes they come back to face the law
sometimes they come back to face people
who does not think whatever they are
doing was right they come back to you
know people who don't like the things
they do their line of duty the hostility
that's the word I'm looking for and they
come back with all these beddings and
these young men and women don't have
anyone to speak to because the guys they
are friends around them that they speak
to have their own war that they are
fight
in their brains and in their physical
body and those who don't have war in
their brains don't understand what these
men and women has been to sometimes when
they come they have to fight this war
themselves it's not easy what a soldier
goes to that's the reality of war and
they deal with it somehow and sometimes
some of them are not able to deal with
it so they kill themselves so when you
observe in your silence think about them
when you observe in your silence think
about that young baby
the own kid who is used to daddy coming
home at 5:00 and then in a space of 5 5
months 7 months 9 months or even a year
that is not coming home right and think
about the husband or the wife who have
to explain to this young kid that for
the next year that is not coming home or
even if that comes home right that will
not come home the same man or maybe they
will have to explain to them that that
is not coming home at all think about
them nobody goes to order right and
comes back the same think about the
women who apart from the women and the
husband who apart from the stress of
looking after the kids bringing up kids
alone have to think about every minute
have to think about their loved ones
whether they are safe where they are are
they eating right are they taking their
medications what whatever they are doing
is it dangerous are they coming home at
all or even if they come home are they
coming home the same way they when or
they are not coming home at all think
about that the woman who have to deal
with that the man who have to deal with
her
think about the parents who never got a
chance to take the loved ones to walk
them to the aisle some of these guys
who's lost their their lives in the war
barely saw women or barely go into a
relationship
think about the girlfriend who will have
to stay away who have to you know do
without the warmth of the earth or the
boyfriend and girlfriends right and
think about that girlfriend who will
never ever meet their boyfriends again
think about the boyfriend who never meet
the girlfriend again because of the
relative war all this I'm saying right
I'm trying to tell you that when you
observe your minute silence or
two-minute silence you are not doing it
in vain and for our men and women who
are seven I take my hat off to you I
don't know how you do it and may God
bless you may God guide you as always
whatever I said if I offended someone
please forgive me and thank you very
much for listening to me and thank you
very much for subscribing and may God be
with you bye
