ALPENFLOW: A glorious shuttle day | Mountain Biking AlpPacker South Day 4

Wow How about another Beautiful day in the Alps It's even if it's cold and wet and we're suffering. It's still beautiful. But this is real nice right here day four We already got day four going and hopefully that was in the last video Making our way point to point from Brionzon Down to Nice the Mediterranean Sea that I keep telling myself is gonna be so nice at the end of six days of riding This is the Alp Packers south trip with Sam up ahead from bike village We're right on the border of the Mercantur Mercantur Mercantur National Park Wow Heard a new phrase on this trip be bold start cold Sam is doing that. I Was not bold enough it's still kind of chilly here. Oh, yeah That was slippier than I thought it would be Wow up and up. Oh still got it still got it Sam was telling me that this was one of the stages in the Trans Provence one year and they did even that steep climb and everything and Yeah, if you haven't heard of it, it's very very cool mountain bike history at this point giant 6,000 foot days climbing eight days in a row just the origination of blind enduro racing timing the downhills and Sam said he was lucky enough to be involved from the beginning 2008 Think he raced the first one and then he helped out at another one Hi my left turns Still working on the left turns maybe by the end of the trip. Here we go It's funny because then you follow a really fast rider and it doesn't look like they change their posture or do anything at all They never get wide or they do I guess but I've followed so many fast people that it's imperceptible How they move the bike around and their body oh Yeah killer rut mark up ahead taking it on Yeah, oh boy Nice Whoa, yeah fell right into it nice squatty potty Rad That's great Bo leg it there we go. Oh boy almost had it had to go into dance mode there This is without a doubt one of the best days on the mountain bike I've ever had But when you're having so much fun and you're doing shuttle after shuttle You still have to remind yourself to stop take a second and stay Hydrated and when I do, you know, there's only one thing in my water bottle It's element the fine sponsor of today's video. I think I'm gonna have to suck it up and Just keep bringing my whatever my trusty steed is at the moment This has been good stump jump or something it's been good, but I could use a little more help Yeah, holy moly, this is why we're here Oh Big yeah, I think Alpen flow that's a great great way to put it It's flow, but it's rock it's natural everything we love That was great two-part My favorite thing big mountain rocks Here we go Hey, I Am happy to report that this is the fourth day of wearing the same kit My jersey my socks my chamois my pants and you know I've been talking about this every video, but I tried to pack light for this trip and it's worked out really good Every night just take take the kit into the shower with you soap it up ring it out and hope it dries Everything has been drying overnight really nicely. So pretty good We've had some heated towel racks that have helped the process quite a bit My shoes did not get so dry Last night. They did okay this morning, but just a slight dampness not Not too wet, but man, this is pretty revolutionary I would say I Usually would have packed six different jerseys six chamois six pairs of socks Three pairs of shorts something like that. So to go with one I mean you need at least two you got to have the backup or whatever if it gets ripped off Or if it's long-sleeve short-sleeve, whatever, but oh So nice to pack a little lighter You think I would actually be good at packing and being light after eight years of international trips Not so much I've still got the laptop and all the charging cables the hard drives batteries, so I'm never gonna be able to go ultra light, but decently light oh He's up top this is so similar to The original photos that I had seen of BASC MTB when I was sitting in my cubicle at the cookware company Dreaming of doing international mountain bike trips and that's just like a spitting image of it. But that photo was in Spain, of course Andy up ahead go for The abuse the tires can take unreal Ready for anything Dry as a bone to probably rides just fine in the wet, but so nice to have a sunny day clear That's not a rock garden that's a rock factory farm Man these big rocks like I think I can hit them and then they send you the wrong way Looking for clean lines So we just had another nice uplift and I was taking advantage of Sam's Builder knowledge in the offseason. He's a joiner in America. We would say carpenter and He has been renovating houses for as long as he's been guiding So it's lovely to pick his brain about a bunch of stuff from my personal building projects at Everstoke Yeah Great earth Wow looking good Man yeah, I'm too high Who would have thought we'd see dust Just like I ain't Sam was telling us that in the first Trans Provence This was also a stage and one of his buddies Tom took a wrong turn on one of these things and was just lost for an hour and a half Oh Unreal hard right Am I gonna make it Point my belly button So cool. Oh Yeah Oh It has been a glorious shuttle day today But I still got shaky after that last run had to get some more calories in me You think I would just doing shuttles no big deal, but gotta keep eating eating eating eating Especially when breakfast is a croissant with butter on it Do another one hard start dancing in the moonlight Awesome total control Not a second of doubt there whoa, I Think so it's never confidence inspiring to have visions of crashing but for some reason Right now. I just kind of have this Vision of myself flying over over the bars I'm okay. I got this Get the bad juju out Whoa, yeah Sick Rock kicked up got me in the bottom knee That one almost got me Slideways all the way They're pedaling into it Yeah So good Never ride it the same way twice. Oh, I thought I was getting cutesy Now I know how everyone feels behind me when I dead stop Wow Whoo, don't tell the other guys how good this trail was They'll just come back next year ride it. Oh, yeah Ooh Had my right pedal down saw a rock or a root about to grab it Gotta stay level on the pedal Left Obviously Yeah, that was divine How about that for a rip roaring one of the best days ever on the bike Especially considering I had the first little part of day four in the last video So if you take that all together, it was just a dream of all dreams So good check out the Alpaca trip.
