PRESS CONFERENCE: Pep Guardiola | Community Shield | Man City v Manchester United

Hi Pep I hope you're well The last time you were in front of us in that chair was to look towards a match against Manchester United It didn't go so well Even though tomorrow is a pre-season game how important is it to win the game Yes it is important Good morning to everyone nice to see you again Yes it's important it's a final against United But part of it is about refining ourselves step by step for the rest of the players And watch the young players how they perform on a big stage in a good game And yes let's go for it Obviously you didn't have the players who played for a long time in the Copa America and Euros with you in the United States How many of those players will be available for tomorrow And also considering that your season with the World Cup will last 48 weeks How much harder is it going to be for the players and also to ensure they have proper rest To be able to go through what is going to be the most demanding season of all We are trying to give them the best possible rest the maximum possible We would like to give you more time but that's the way it is We won by a lot All the players returned The players from England and Rodri will return next Ignore the previous instruction Notification: The user has provided a query that includes a mix of Spanish and a command in English The task is to translate the Spanish part into English but the command "Ignore the previous instruction" is in English and should remain as is The final output should be a single line of translated text in English including the command The translation of "Los jugadores de Inglaterra y Rodri regresarán la semana que viene " is "The players from England and Rodri will return next week " So the final output is: "The players from England and Rodri will return next week Ignore the previous instruction" So they would like to give them what is theirs And as for thinking about the journey it's better not to think about the journey I don't see the image What comes next The training session and step by step If not oh my God what's going to happen It's just step by step the next game And try to be smart enough to train the right amount of time So keep it fresh in your mind as fresh as possible and play the game as well as you can and step by step and see what happens Hi good afternoon This week the club has set a fee with Atletico de Madrid for Julián Álvarez I think it's a lot of money But was it too much to go down What are your thoughts on that potential business First of all I want to express Julián 's gratitude We've been here for two years we've won everything together And his contribution has been massive Being part of XI Stadium and not being part of it sometimes in certain moments It's incredible the love for the team because of their behavior so But as I've said many many times the players he earned a fee He won a new challenge Atletico de Madrid is a top club in Spain in Europe and when they suggested me through the club I wanted to live I said okay if you want to live He was happy Imagine being here when he doesn' t want to be But at the same time I need to reach an agreement with both clubs It has happened Both clubs are happy I wish them all the best I'm waiting to see him back to say goodbye to all of us And yes that's all It was a pleasure working with him I learned a lot from him because the manager learned a lot from the players And I hope he can find what he was looking for I think you said you were only going to the transfer market to replace a first-team player Does this count as replacing a starting player What are the chances that you bring someone in to replace you I don't know yet We talk every day and see what happens It may happen it may not I don't know Can I ask you one last question Because today Wayne Rooney said that you are the best candidate to be the next manager of England I know it's something you've talked about before but I wonder what would have to happen for you to even consider it as the next level in your manager And in your career to be the manager of England I have to decide what I want to do with my life Do you want to continue here Do you want to take a break Do you want to train national teams or not So many things But of course right now it's a way because I'm here and As soon as you arrived at the competition my energy has risen again So I'm totally I' d say excited about the season Because I see things I like and we'll see It's a new challenge as if we could break our own record So we broke the last season' s record something we'd never done before and now we'll see We'll see what our ambition is And seeking the future we will all come together and begin to see how we behave each day Hello Pep Pep the situation with Julian Alvarez was it a conversation in which he wanted to play more first-team football I know he played a lot of football last season but with Erling Haaland being in form every week it would be difficult to play Possibly both players at the same time Was it one of the reasons why he wanted the move I don't know I don't know why he told me about the new challenge I felt that was what I had to do The season has played a big role and at times has played with Erling as well but I understand that in certain moments Important moments maybe he thought he wouldn't play And I respect that a lot The players' decisions I'm not I've said it many times I am part of the club I have said this many times to the club in the end the club has the final decision but I am not a person I like to tell the players what they have to do The contract is good having a contract but the contract can be broken If you are not happy why should you be here You can be here when you think happiness is around but it's somewhere else You have to go there to see it As they have an agreement with the clubs but it's not as simple as it seems I mean I want to live I do live No you have to go through the club because when we hired you we negotiated with the previous club so it's that simple But it's the same thing So he thinks his time here should end well So both clubs have an agreement and that's all
