New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics Full Game Highlights | October 22, 2024 | FreeDawkins

The revamped New York Knicks of a 50-win season play the Boston Celtics to open the NBA's 79th year. Boston Celtics, a season ago, the number one league at offense, right in the paint. Derek Weiss and Benson sizing up the shot, he hits it over Brown, down low. Carl Anthony towns the mismatch on Holiday. How about the patience by Cash, recognizing he had the smaller defender. And picked up inside, oh no. He'll jackhammer it in, the fake, the drive, and the easy two. White chiseling his way, it's out to Brown for three. It's a simple play. In for Brown. Jalen Benson now is perfect from the floor, three of three and six points. McBride, screen by Harden. And the mid-range shot will go. Chris Stapps for Zingas. He is slated to return in December. He's shooting, he's conditioning, but he has yet to do any contact work. So White with the Cornette screen, and here is Tatum. And his shot is good, his second three of the game. Limited lineup tonight for New York because of the injuries of Free Tatum. Picked up by Holiday. Hauser will defend. It's off to Miles McBride. Good move to get three-three. Good, and a foul. McBride puts it in. Here's the feed, looking for Cornette. Holiday got it back from Cornette, who missed, and a three by Holiday. Boy, they cannot miss from outside. Hauser. Another three. Mikael Bridges, something's going on with his release point. Because it does not look as smooth as it did when he was in Phoenix and Brooklyn. Towns inside, working on Cornette. It's been described as a hit. Pritchard with a three. Difference of five seconds. Game clock, shot clock. McBride over the long reach of Cornette. Another one from Miles McBride. Payne remains in the game, Browns on him. It's a McBride shot off balance. That was right over Holiday. A beauty right there. McBride with nine. It's Towns. Another beautiful move down low for the Knicks. Down goes Holiday, Tillman on the move. Got it. Horford, corner three. And this is what kills you. And this is why the Celtics have been so successful. Two offensive rebounds that leads to a corner three by Al Horford. And shoots. Score! A three. His second, he's got ten. Three. Holiday and Deuce. McBride, step back. That's a three. Got it again. Wow, does he have a hot hand for the Knicks. Six of six off the bench. Tatum, three. Look at that. Bunsen, pickpocket and sails the other way. Best players. They feel slighted. Right inside Sims. Right over Cornette inside. Pritchard, nice rotation. White, three. Three for one another. White, he'll launch a three. Another one. From what Coach Mazula said, he wanted Garrett White to shoot more threes. And thus far in game number one, he's heard the message and received it. Bunsen again, powers his way in for his 12 points tonight. Long shot will go. Falling right there. And now with 15, Jalen Bunsen. Tatum's a three. One of the best, maybe the best big shooting big man this game has ever seen. From distance. Tatum will drive hard into Towns. And hits it together. Tatum. Right there. The Boston Celtics have just matched the franchise record for threes made in a half. Harford knocks it away. Harford timed that beautifully. Two seconds to fire. Towns muscling his way in. Boy, a pretty play by Carl Anthony Towns. Tatum, grunts in there, spins off him. Dives in for two. And they want to get that switch with Jalen Bunsen guarding Jason Tatum. And the cutting Josh Hart inside. Josh Hart. And it's off to Brown out there with Holiday. It's a three from Brown. White, Brown, Harford, Holiday and Tatum. That's the Celtic five. White. Two threes to start the second half for Boston. Carl Anthony Towns and Harford. Shot clock at one. Inside. Uh-oh. Holiday. Three. Timeout. And a quick timeout for Coach Thibodeau. Bridges will launch a long shot. There it goes. And it finally goes. It is a three. Raquel Bridges. Celtics have led by as many as 26. Harford. Holiday. Three. Tatum. Look at this. Sweet move by Tatum. Well, he is part of that Jordan brand, right? Inside. Bridges got it with a good feed on the perimeter. So that's back-to-back baskets by Raquel Bridges now. Tatum. Three. He's got 32 points. And it's 12 of 15 from the floor. Seven of 10 from downtown. Brunson watches it roll in. Off to Brunson in stride. Fearlessly takes it in for two. 19 for Brunson. In the corner. It's wide. Bridges. Three in a row. Bridges has found his stroke here in the third. Round three. Sims and McBride have come off the bench here in the third. And McBride's got the ball. And launches a three. He has been a sharp shooter all night long. Brunson again. Plies his way in the paint. Time to go. Bridges there. Screen is set. Into white. Screen roll. Easily done. Bridges wiggles in. Works on Cornett. He looks much more comfortable here in the second half. Wow. Tatum again. Laces it. Eight threes for Tatum. 26 and counting. The NBA all-time record for a game. And Sims. To Deuce McBride. That's a three for Deuce. Tatum will sneak. That's wide. For Cornett. That was her three. Brown. It's over Sims. It's a three and that's 28. I mean no one's beaten the Celtics in the entire league tonight. Regardless. I mean this is just a clinic. We can put an all-star team together of the rest. 29 of the other teams and they would not be beating the Celtics tonight. It's a game, Kat. He said it felt foreign. I'm not used to playing in another jersey. It was an awkward situation, he said. It's Tillman inside. Pritchard and out to Horford. That's a three and that ties the record. That's number 29. And you can watch history on TNT. McBride. Oh, everything is dropping for him. Into Tillman. Holliday placed it well to the big man. On the move. In the corner. Mitchell Robinson won't be back for a while on that baseline. Driving. And Sims sneaks it up and through. Payne on the move. Once again he'll say go ahead. Kolick a three. He nails it for the Knicks. Timeout taken by Boston. Hauser driving on Kolick. And got it. We saw Kolick last year in the tournament. Here's Payne. This is over Walsh. Payne off the bench now in double figures with 11. That'll be it. And the Boston Celtics go to 1 and 0. The defending NBA champions. Getting their rings. Hoisting the banner. Against what you think Reggie might be. Their stiffest competition in the Eastern Conference. Really took care of them tonight. 132-109.
