Camper and Cabin Forest is designed to embrace serenity, luxury, and comfort,
all while staying true to our rustic roots. We wanted to evoke a feeling of subtle elegance,
but at the same time retain the signature Camper and Cabin brand
of allowing our guests to experience the outdoors in style.
I'm Dennis Canonizado. I'm the designer of Camper and Cabin Forest.
Our idea is to merge the structure with the surrounding environment.
Therefore, we have integrated wood and natural materials.
We are connecting the interior of the cabins to the dense forest outside.
The greens outside give you a sense of vibrancy,
while the muted shades of the space gives one a truly relaxing vibe.
We are located in the quiet and very secluded part of Alfonso Cavite.
It is not too far from the city, and yet our place gives you the sense of zen, privacy,
and seclusion. Camper and Cabin promises to deliver an elevated experience for our guests.
We designed the property in such a way that our guests would feel a strong
and meaningful connection with nature. We have three cabins, Pine, Oak, and Fir,
all named after the kinds of woods we've chosen. So we have Pine Cabin, which is characterized
by its vertical red walls, natural stoneworks, and glass roof. It also allows light to naturally
flow into the space. Since we have a glass roof, the cabin allows guests to enjoy a unique dusk
to dawn and light to night experience. At night, you could just watch the night sky from your bed.
Pine has its own private space with an outdoor tub,
rain showers, swing, and a pocket garden.
Meantime, Oak is our two-bedroom cabin, which is well suited for families.
It embodies the soft elegance of traditional ancient Japanese architecture.
It has a light and airy finish and minimalist interiors.
The cabin has a relaxing zen ambience. We placed a cozy nook with tatami-style seating.
We minimized the pallet and kept it really simple. Our pallets are mostly earth and
neutral mix with black. It is really important that the feel of the place,
the materials, and the colors were reflective of the natural environment.
It also has a plunge or a dipping pool, sunken seating area with fire pit.
The biggest of the three cabins is called Fur because we used Douglas Fir in building the
structure. Fur is composed of three stilts cabin, which exudes a rustic charm with its black timber
and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. All of the cabins offer an unobstructed view of the forest.
We've designed Fur in such a way that we offer a common space.
Fur has its own pool with an open dining area and a bar counter where guests may
bond over food and drinks. It features an eclectic mix of modern furniture.
One of its unique features as well is an elevated walkway or catwalk
which offers a perfect backdrop for a sundown.
I had a multi-sensory approach to design in creating this project.
We considered a lot of other senses such as sound, touch, and smell, and even taste.
The choice of having an Asian restaurant that is also consistent with the design aesthetic of the
property. The various textures used from the floor to the walls and the ceiling gives the property its unique character.
Our intention at Camper and Cabin is to offer a reimagined outdoor lodging experience.
We have an extraordinary challenging terrain so we have to carefully plan the design to make sure
that we are able to make the best use of the space. We didn't want to alter the shape of the land
so we arranged the space to suit the way that the slope of the land falls towards the northeast.
We want our cabins to embrace the landscape by seamlessly blending the design
with the environment. In designing this, my goal is really to create a tastefully designed
and sustainable space which meaningfully engages with the environment. Reconnecting with nature
is good for us as nature's calming effect boosts our immune system and our mental health as well.
It relaxes and recharges us, makes us feel detached from the city life,
and gives us the refreshing feeling of being immersed in nature. This video is brought to
