The small spare tire should really go on the back.

#DadHowDoI #RobKenney #HowTo #FlatTire
okay had a lot of requests for how to
change a flat tire it's a fairly simple
process but if you've never done it
before it might be a little bit
intimidating so if you're on a hill you
want to make sure to put something
behind the opposite tire in the back I'm
not really on much of a hill so I'm not
too worried about it right now so we'll
go ahead and get started your lug wrench
you want to do this first before you
jack up the car because if you jack up
the car first and then your reefing on
these lug nuts good luck you might knock
knock the car off the jack and you don't
want to do that so here we go
and when you take them off and when you
put them back on you want to go in a
star pattern especially it's more
important when you're putting it back on
but we'll just go ahead just follow that
for now
cake so we just want to get them loose
like that for now this is a scissors
Jack and you actually to get it out you
can tighten them a little bit cuz then
when you put it back in you just tighten
it to make it nice and snug in okay just
lower it and then you'll see you'll be
able to see underneath your
we're this not just this notch right
here it's there's that groove down
inside that much to give it some
stability the way this jack works is
this just goes up inside here like that
and then this just fits on here some of
them are pretty oaky
so we just want to get it where that
tire just off the ground
we're getting close
so we're golden there now you just go
ahead and put on the rest of the way
so we're gonna put on a spare tire
that's really just exactly that it's a
spare tire it's only to get from one
place to another you don't want to write
on it for very long because that thing
blows out in be in a world of hurt
make sure you like those all stayed
there you're looking at somewhere so
they roll away on you that aside got my
spear
okay now make sure they're snug the jack
is down
[Music]
well I guess I'm this one this only goes
one way
but that little indent there that goes
in some of them actually don't have an
end on it so you you know don't make
that mistake of having it be the
opposite way
so again these spare tires are just
meant to get you back to a entire place
to get your real tire fix they're not
meant it's don't write on them you see
people driving around on them and I
think they use them as a tire but don't
do it you just need to use it for a
temporary tire just to get you back back
to safety right and in a star pattern
sometimes you'll have four so you can't
do that but most of them okay that's
about that's about the size of it I
think you got it thanks
here's a close-up looks like and then
what I was doing was just put this hook
inside there all right and then this has
a little notch in it you can see that
then that just went over here and then I
just tightened it that's how you tell
you this okay
[Music]
we're good like that right so everything
will fit back in in the trunk
so obviously this tyre is a lot bigger
than that tire so this tire would not
actually sit back in the back of the
trunk it will just you just put in your
trunk put this tire right because you're
not gonna drive on this tire
great this monkey Tiger everybody say
yes you're not driving on this tire for
very long okay it's just temporary all
right thank you here is what I was
talking about on some some of these lug
nuts this is an open end but on this one
the end is closed and so you can see
that where it's got the tapering you
want that tapering to go in obviously
there's no other way to do it on this
one but I thought I'd show you that up
close with that notch right there pay
attention to where that notch is right
because that's where your your valve
stem goes somebody at Les Schwab the
last time I had my tires replaced they
put this on wrong so even they do it so
I couldn't get to my
my nozzle to fill it up with air so put
that on right there right
okay again I'm putting on the big tire
again so this one for some reason has
that as a hubcap that usually the hubcap
fits over anyway
so again as you do it another reminder
star pattern
okay just just a little snug now we're
gonna let down the jack and then once we
let it down we just tighten it up thanks
for watching all right there we go
thanks for watching appreciate it
