The Captain Is Here! Christine Sinclair's First Appearance Since The Women's World Cup Of Soccer.

We did our homework. Oh, Christine Sinclair, tell us, tell us what this song has. The only time I listen to that song is before a game. It's become a superstition. Really? Yeah. Started in college. So now I think it's game day. There you go. Well, you're more than welcome to play a little game of footy here. Kyle was just all like, oh my God, I love you, in the commercial break, which is so fun. We're thrilled to have you here. Your first stop since the FIFA Women's World Cup wrapped up. Yeah. Did you jet out of town right away, or were you here for? I stuck around for a couple days, but then I was down to Portland where my professional team is, and I'm back training with them. Go back to your real job, as they say. It's a tough one, you know? Yeah, it was. But you know what? Aside from that result versus England, there were so many moments that felt Olympic for fans. We, as a community, as a country, were there vibing and rooting you on. That had to feel special, even with the result. Yeah, I mean, obviously the result hurts and still does, but we filled BC Place with 54,000 screaming Canadians wearing soccer jerseys, not hockey jerseys. And that was our goal. How tight was this team? I mean, having been around your squad for a number of events, most notably the CONCACAF World Olympic qualifying, because it was just like, there are 3,000 people here. Okay, now there are 50,000 people here. This is a very special group of women. Yeah, I mean, we've become a family. We spend so much time around each other. I've literally grown up with some of these people. They're my best friends, and we joke. We have a tough job. We travel the world and play a sport with our best friends. You're going to be missing one of your besties, Kay Kay. She'll never be gone. But, yeah, I mean, that was a tough day when she told us that she was going to be retiring. She's been a rock on this team for as long as I can remember, and she'll be missed. But she'll, like, dominate the world in some form, I'm sure of it. Anybody who might want to worry about you hanging up. Yeah, that's what I'm actually here to talk about today. No, I'm just kidding. Absolutely not. She's kidding people. Absolutely not. No, no. Okay, good. Let's talk a little about John Herman and how much he has changed the vibe of this team since coming on board. I mean, best coach I've ever had the honor of playing for. He acquired a broken team after the last World Cup, and within a year we were winning Olympic medals. He just has brought back the love and passion and joy to all of us to this point. He's the best motivator I've ever been around. Some people get to hear him talk once a year. We get that every single day, and you can't help but want to fight for him. We love our John Herman. Okay, let's talk about mission and the initiative that you're doing with John Tavares. Yes. What is it? Well, it's like a safety product with heat control, especially here in Vancouver. Show us. What do you got around your neck? Yeah. With the weather we've been having here in Vancouver, unseasonably hot. Yes. And what you do is you wet it, wring it out, snap it in the air, and it stays cold for a couple hours. So out in the sun, whether you're playing soccer or running, just a way to keep the body temperature low. And as an athlete, it's very important. For me, playing soccer, as soon as your core temperature rises, that's when your performance starts to drop. So this helps eliminate that. So it's the Enduracool, and it's part of mission, available at Canadian Tire. How much are they about? I have no idea. No idea? We'll find out. That would be a good question. See, I come up with a good one. This one's going to be free, though. Will you sign this one? Christine's going to sign this one up. Enduracool. This is what they look like when they get purchased. Because you do see... There you go. I love that, Cinqui. Someone can win it. There it is. The actual one. Contests at btvancouver.ca. Subject line, towel. Email us right now. Worn, touched, and signed. Oh, she's touched, yes. I know, but you are a big deal. You're really... She's so self-deprecating. She's the best soccer player in the world. She is Christine Sinclair. We love having you on the show. Thank you for having me. Come back anytime.
