This is a mysterious ceremony, a magic ritual practiced by the Sumerians that involved the
invocation of gods, Anunnaki and demons to animate a statue. With the ceremony, it was said that the
statue came to life and was animated with the essence and personality of the god to which it
was dedicated. Sumer is the oldest civilization in human history, according to the latest research
and discoveries of archaeologists and historians. Along with many other achievements of the
Sumerians, enchantments, magic, and contact with deities and the spiritual or metaphysical world
also gained special prominence. Religion was a central theme in Sumer. All life and all the
attitudes of the Sumerians, as well as the slightly later Mesopotamian empires, such as
the Akkadians and the Assyrians, were devoted to the gods. There was no separation between other
activities and religion, as well as magical, artistic work and even war practices were
devoted to the gods. Nothing was done without consulting the deities. It is in this context
that this mysterious ritual fits. It is called Mispai or Kalahuda. Through this mysterious ritual,
a god, a demon or an Anunnaki, any entity, was invoked and assumed the form of a wooden statue,
normally made also of gold and silver. This statue invoked by this ritual was animated with the
essence and personality of the god. And thus, incorporated into the statue, this spiritual
entity could contact the world of the living and then eat, drink, and smell incense. In the same
way, at the same time that this statue received the life of the deity, this same statue appeared
in a sky or paradise, in the world of the gods. It was an exchange. The statue received the life
of the god, and in the world of the gods, the statue appeared. The ritual was performed over
two days and had a first part dedicated to the god Ea or Enki, the same Anunnaki who was identified
in other tablets as responsible for the creation of human beings. And the second day was dedicated
to the god Shamash, who was revered and, as mentioned earlier, guaranteed the life of the god
to the statue. It was he, the god of the sun, Shamash, who authorized and determined that this
statue was alive and animated with the spirit of the deity. Thus, it was not said that human
hands made the statue, but the gods themselves made it. The ceremony or ritual cleaned the statue
of the impurities of human hands and prepared the statue for the entity to come to life.
In order for the ritual to take place, it was necessary to separate the craftsmen who
worked on the statue and prepare this image for the sacred ceremony.
Thus, there were several preparatory stages that included reaching the riverbanks,
the circles of reed huts, the gates of the temple, the abode of the gods, the portals of Apsu,
among others. During the ceremony, the properly prepared priests included substances such as
syrup, resin, cedar, among others, in the statue's mouth, washing and purifying the
image so that the god could inhabit and live there. On the second day, an ear-opening ceremony
was performed, during which it was said, On this day be present, for this statue that is
ceremoniously before you grants you the destiny, that your mouth may eat, that your ears may hear.
The tablets state that the statue cannot smell the incense without the mouth-opening ceremony,
nor eat food, nor drink water. Thus, when the ritual was complete, the true self,
the supernatural force of the god, began to inhabit the statue, which came to life before
the priests. Invocations were necessary throughout the ceremony to make this happen.
The tablets describe these invocations, which mention the names of Enki, Enlil, Anu, Marduk,
among other well-known Anunnaki. If you are interested in consulting them, you can search
for the tablet BM 65594. Although these invocations can be read, I do not have the courage to read
them to you in this video, despite my reference material presenting them. It seems quite clear
to me that this was a serious ritual, and that there is a great mystery surrounding the statues
and the life that the gods could gain by inhabiting them. The world's first civilization,
which offered us so much knowledge, believed in this. I see no reason to ridicule their belief
or underestimate its power or effectiveness. We need to remember that the same Sumerians
who invented writing, agriculture, livestock, astronomy, time counting, schools, laws,
social organization, among others, said that everything they learned was thanks to the gods.
Furthermore, the ceremony, known in English as the Opening Mouth Ceremony,
can also be found in other cultures of other peoples, such as in Egypt. We can also make
a connection with the god who revealed himself to Abraham, Yahweh, or Jehovah. At one point,
Yahweh says that no images should be made of him. Was this so that his true self would not be linked
to this cult in any way? Could this have any relationship? The biblical god Yahweh directs
destruction of Egypt to free his people from slavery. This clearly demonstrates the antagonism
between Yahweh and the children of Ra, who were considered false gods. It is also important to
highlight that this cult was expanded later in history to other cultures and other uses,
including other objects and artifacts of magic and spiritual magnetism, such as torches or special
equipment of magicians and sages who worked with divination and magical practices. We must also
remember that even today we attribute and confer magical powers to amulets, images, and other
utensils. The most interesting thing to consider in this curious magical ceremony is that the Anunnaki
are the first gods worshipped by the first civilization in our history. To understand
our present, we need to shed light on our past. If you liked this video, leave your like, subscribe
