Sung Kang going very well. This is his third to the ninth. Delicate one. Par five. Looking for
something soft off the club face and releasing it up the green. That was very well thought out.
Sung Kang has since had a bogey so he's in double digits. Ten under par.
Burt Wiesberger would improve things at the fourth mark. Yeah lovely little flop shot wasn't it?
Not easy. Quite slick down there and well he's underneath the hole so that's an easy putt.
That would yield a birdie. And at the 16th Richie Ramsey's third shot at this par five.
Playing the chunk and run as they call it and worked out very well for Richie Ramsey.
That would lead to a birdie. Now to the final hole of the day for Richie Ramsey. His second here to
the 18th and it's a beauty. Look at that. What a lovely shot. So he's got that for a 67. He birdied
the first. Dropped a shot at the second and very good. Might well get that back at the third. That's
a decent pin position that today. Richie Ramsey for his birdie to finish. Deserves it and what a
first 36 holes from the Scotsman. He has the lead at 12 under par. Well done Richie.
Could that have gone in the back to the second? Svensson trying to get two within four of the lead.
Gotta be. Beautiful stroke. In it goes for Svensson.
And the first hole is to open up with a birdie three. Richie does. Nice start. Seems that anyone
makes a birdie there they're making a 30 footer up that hill. They can't get the second shot onto
the level where the hole is cut. Right ahead of the green. Third shot of Jordan's fifth.
He needs something to happen pretty quickly. Three pars to start with. Get in. Oh there you go. That
will do. Now something like that can turn everything around. He's still got to really go from here.
Back to level though. So beautifully played wasn't it? Yes that's the man who's just come off a
seven on that last hole. Second shot here at the fifth. Oh got him straight back. Didn't take long
did it? Conor Syme with his second six. Playing a lot of his goal from the fairways. This is only a
with a wedge and he's pushed it in perfectly. That's super impressive the way he started.
Everything coming out of the middle of the club. Favouring the right if it was me. I wouldn't want
to miss this left. That was fairly tasty. Must carry the cover the front edge. It will release.
Oh gone a little bit further. A little bit further. That's a super shot from Francesco.
Two great shots from Elvira and Molinari. Eagle tries to come. Now that is very welcome
for the former Open champion. Gets him to two under par. That's a big step forward.
Lovely eagle. No question the people that putt well this week are going to contend. You need to
otherwise you'll get lapped. Yeah that's two magnificent eagles isn't it? Two out of the
three players playing the hole in six shots. Another player needing some birdies is Todd
Clements. Defending champion and that's going to help. That's a super second shot.
That didn't get the three under par. Smith just dropped a shot at the last. Went over the green.
Had a beautiful eagle on the fourth but at one over par. Needs to get things going. Oh he's got
one back. Went in at some pace. Well done. Level par. Two under today. He's asking it to fly and
it has. When you hear a Spanish player say Vuela he's asking it to go a little. An aggressive putter
by nature but this is slung off the hill for a three. Well done young man. Well done. Good work.
Slides long to two under. Cuts within reach and he's got obviously a partisan crowd following
him round. The news was good however. Now he's looking north. No joy for Conor Sime. Elvira
doesn't seem pleased with this approach to the seventh. It's not the worst thing in the world
because it will nudge its way down towards the cup. Now great shot. Wow. How lucky was that? That
was expertly played off the sprinkler. Brilliant. Oh he's giving the crowd what they want.
Well done. That's a superb front nine. Still got a par five to come. Oh do you know I thought that
was just gonna give it the old Harry the horseshoe. Fortunately it was slow enough. He won the
national didn't he? Harry though yes. Conor Sime meanwhile. We saw him hit that eight iron to the
eleventh. Just left of the pin. This is the putt with the two. And never anywhere else. Sime back
on the birdie trail. This is at the second hole. Robinson Thompson up the hill. He's at nine under.
That's excellent. That'll get ever better that. Look at that. You beauty. Yeah he hit me straight
in the middle of the putting surface here. A little cuddy one. Hold it up there. That land
nice and soft. Dan Brown scooted over the green. What a good ball that is. Listen to the caddie
and the player at the same time. What a very well behaved ball. What a shot for the man that's on
fire. Trying desperately hard to make this cut. He's coming off a great save at the last hole from
the bunker. And that is much more like what we're used to seeing from Jordan Smith. A cracking iron
shot. A little bit loose by Clements. But this should be much closer. More like Smith's I would
imagine. Gosh he's so on it when he's swinging. He's putting a lot of pressure on that ball. And
that's just another magnificent golf shot. Beautiful second shot of Connor Simon at this
par five. This to get to 11 under. This for his eagle. Oh yes. I thought for one second then that
was going to stay out. What a round he's putting together. Eight under. A horrid one. Birdie putt
Four under today. Hang on now. Don't cut too much. Ridiculous shot. That's two. That is five
ridiculous shots on the bounce. This is Rovetto off the bank of 16.
About 10 feet of fringe to go through. This would be an eagle try. Unlikely. Unlikely.
Incredible. How about that? Just a gap wedge to this back right flag.
Oh that's tremendous. And he's under the hole as well. Oh that's magnificent. That is absolutely
shot of the day. Can't be beaten. He stabbed down on that aggressively. He got the check.
Yeah well done. What a day Beef Johnson. What a day. Doesn't make a mistake at his final hole.
One mistake. One blemish in a 63. Much more like it.
