I can't really say this was the worst road ever. Who knows what horrific road are still to come?! But I can say one thing - it was the worse road SO FAR! Yes, it beat all the hard hard riding in Ladakh. The rains had completely destroyed the road and I struggled and ploughed for hours and hours on end through MUD, WATER and POTHOLES. My body has never been so sore after a day's riding!! On the bright side ... I didn't have any rain on the way ! YAY!!
Progress is really slow, it's going to be a very long day
Good morning internet, it is quarter to nine in the morning and welcome to my channel
So I'm having a bit of a late start because the weather has been
pretty awful. It's been raining non-stop for the past 24 hours and I've kind of been
hoping and waiting until the rain would stop so it is now dry. It's only still
very cloudy and misty
So I am a little bit worried how the road condition is going to be now. I think it's
going to be super slippery, muddy but I can't stay another night here because this place is
closing down for winter maintenance or whatever so they're kind of kicking me out so I don't
really have another option than to pack my stuff, go ride and pray for the best so let's see
So this is where Basanti has been sitting out the rain
So I just crossed the state border into Manipur, the border is just behind me over there
The road is horrible, it is super slippery, I have to ride very carefully. I'm literally going
five to ten kilometers an hour in first gear
There are massive potholes, a lot of water on the road and the visibility is really poor
so I'm basically riding through a cloud sometimes
Progress is really slow, it's going to be a very long day
I made it to Imphal, man that was a really really rough day
So the last 30 kilometers there was some quite nice tarmac but I think I did more than 100
kilometers on that awful awful wet blubbery muddy pothole road and the weird thing is that
when I was riding in Nagaland, I was expecting a police post and permit and all of that
Nothing happened, I just blast through Nagaland and then I ride into Manipur and I get stopped
by the police and they take me off the bike, bring me to an office and then they actually
stamp my passport with a huge purple stamp, it is this one
Yeah and they've given me five days in Manipur so beats me, my information definitely isn't
up to date or correct or they changed the rules, I have no idea so I'm gonna take some rest and
do some stretches because that road destroyed me
