EMOTIONAL MOMENT FOR HIM 👋 | Sir Mark Cavendish Tour de France Legend 🐐🇫🇷 | Eurosport Cycling

Mark Cavendish is drawing this amazing career of his to a close. An emotional moment for him, the head's bowing for very good reason. He's possibly trying to clear the tears from his eyes and that'll be shared by many. What an amazing athlete. A man who has illuminated the tour and indeed cycling in general. And his fame and his influence has gone beyond the sport. He is a very, very special athlete in so many different ways. But most importantly, I guess for him, at least as he came here, to get that record held by Eddie Max at 35 wins on this wonderful race, the Tour de France, and he did it. Mark Cavendish finishing the job, Danny. Yeah, and the word legend is thrown around a lot, but it can absolutely be used for Mark Cavendish. Inspired so many bike riders, non-bike riders, children and adults in his mental resilience. The way he's just proven everyone wrong, been written off so many times and come back to take that 35th stage win. Absolutely remarkable. A phenomenal show and we salute him. Yes, well, you know, another phenomenal athlete, as you say. When you look at his career, you know, he had great years, then had some years where he wasn't at his best at all. Sickness, injury, all of that, and came back from that. And we see him now finishing his Tour de France, getting the record as you see him coming over the line here. And you know what a career he's had. Mark Cavendish, thank you.
