Conegliano vs Bergamo | Italian Volleyball LVF SerieA1 2024/2025

Caneliano, the reigning champions here in Italy, get things underway. Caneliano in the blue, known as the Panthers. And finally getting Ju-Ting, their superstar from China, out onto court. But she is dug. And the counter-attack is excellent. Bergamo is one of the stars. Monique Struber of Germany, 23-year-old middle blocker. Gabi, defended by Evans. Tight, Pjani gets the reuse. Former Caneliano player. And they're being made to work here. Bardaro has got the start in the libero slot ahead of Di Gennaro. Oh, it's played on from the foot. And Hawke tips it to the floor. Well, Bergamo starting here tonight. Feet goes deep, passed easily. Up into the angle, well defended. That will be one of the features tonight. Started to think of as his first line-up. It's not getting any better for Bergamo. Kim Keller with the serve. Deep again, Montalvo passes on the slide. Nicely hit. Good work from Linda Manfredini. Serve. International, putting pressure on here. Chances. The best set to Montalvo. And they scurry into action to make a save again. And Caneliano are absolutely loving this. They were out of system for virtually the whole rally. And they've still got 192. He's actually one of the shorter players on court. All this Caneliano line-up. Pass, just drags Boros a little away. Only scored four, Bergamo. At the moment, they are getting thrashed. Good swing, good swing out of the back line. Eventually Evans with the serve. Destroys it out of that pipe position. Evans signing for Bergamo on this team. Remember, all of these players playing for Bergamo for the first time. Pick up. Nice hustle in the back line from Mistrete. Leaves it to go over. Gabi covers. Dutin gets a good swing to the backcourt. But Struber makes the play. Got it into transition again. And that's a nice block. Opposite back-up, opposite player. Heavy swing from Gabi. Too good. In set number one by the reigning champions, Prosecco, Docchi, Mocco, Caneliano. The team in blue will be looking to get this one done super quick. Defense from Gabi Gimelisch. Swing for Dutin, cross-court. It's defense. Oh, wow. Well, if it's not Sarah serving well. Dutin. Swing, Gabi. This time she's got what she's after. A little tip by Daro. Testing serve on Dutin. And at last, Bergamo starting to make some points of their own. No luck involved there at all. That was just a straight-up great play. Daro steps in. Not the best set from Boasch. How have they saved that? Well played. Bergamo go again. Struber hammers it. That's a really impressive play. Cracker. Oh, well played. Well played. Well, it's the old adage, isn't it? Arrive and be available. It's a little better in set two. Still in play. Nice reach. Staying with this double sub for the moment. Brilliant serve. And that's not a great pass, but Seki does so well to save it. Gabi, of course. There's the rest. Again, what a superstar. Double substitution is working very well indeed. Just starting to look a little fragile on the pass again. And Adigwe applies the finishing touch. Getting exactly what they wanted against Bergamo. A fine and impressive performance. Good hit. Bardaro passed as well. He swings hard into the angle. Martino Vukasic is in. Oh, ace. Fabulous stuff. Ampiani, the former Panther. The pass is a freebie. That slide was well read by the blockers. Still in play. Ljubin hooks it over. Evans goes on the slide herself, but Manfredini is blocked. Free ball. Volos goes slide again. Once more, defended pretty easily by Bergamo and put away quite beautifully by Mljenkova. How did Eliano have done in the first two? Same shot at the match, but certainly a shot to extend the game to four. Straight shoot. It's given Bergamo's way. Well played Piani. Three-point lead is gained. And Eliano to find another scoring route here. Fork defended. Montalvo. Good pass. That's one of those shots in front of the setter from Kirikela. This time just sneaks around the back, and the ball is too wide and too high for Hawke. Not punished by Piani into the far corner. Near career at the Busto Club. Good serve. Tricky stuff here. Vukasic hammers it. Well defended. Piani with a chance. And rips it. Great swing. Ace. Speed is evaporating again. Keep this in. She does with pressure. Out of the back line. Great, great hit. To bring Nanamiseki there. To go there again. A bit deeper. Gabi passes. Adigwe. Pressure hits. Off the block and into court. And the pressure just too great on the last two swings for the youngster. And this rotation. Match point then for Eliano. Solid pass. Piani. No, Adriana, sorry. Charged with the hit. She hits it well. Guerrero goes there again. And this time the block shuts her down. And the Panthers tested in set three. But they still win. In style.
