Adventure Awaits: Wild Camping in the Rain - Can This Tent Handle It?

Hello everyone and welcome back to another video as you can probably hear it's a bit of a wet one today it's raining what a surprise for down here on the south coast i'm finally back out yeah i know i haven't been out for quite a while i haven't uploaded for quite a while but all of you uh long-term supporters of the channel will probably know that last week i put up on my community post the reason why i haven't uploaded and that's because i've been suffering with a back injury again it's finally it's on the mend so i've tried to come out as light as i can today to keep a bit of pressure off my lower back thank you to everyone who commented on the community post that i put up saying get well and i hope your back gets better i really do appreciate it i know i didn't reply to everyone but i liked everyone's comment and hearted everyone's comment so hopefully you guys who did comment saw that but i'm back out today with another tent i've got a nice new one to try this is another one from hill zero this is called the scarecrow it's a new one it's just recently brought out it's a shelter that can be opened up on both sides and it's also you can use it as a hot tent so we're going to get that set up because it's raining we'll get that set up and then we'll talk a bit more about the tent and get a brew on you get these really long pegs with it which is nice so they'll be ideal for getting deep into the ground holding it down and as you can see the tent is also that really cool tiger strike camo that i like i really do like that camo have i mentioned that in get another two of these poles and four of these shorter poles and they all connect into two of them and they go on each end of the tent the main long pole goes in the bottom of this one here and then you have two short poles on either side and one of these longer poles of space in here so let's go over a few of the details on this tent i have it on the card that comes with the tent because i'm rubbish at remembering things so let's go over some dimensions the length is 165 inches from end to end uh we've got a height of 67 inches which that ain't bad i mean you couldn't stand up in here unless you're a midget but just sitting down on a chair things like that sitting up on a bed chair you've got plenty of room for that at 67 inches the width it's 102 when the doors are closed up got another door on the back here which is really good and as you can see i've actually got the one side open and the main flap lifted up as a shelter which is another way that you can use this tent the materials for this tent it's made out of a 20d nylon and it's got a 2500 millimeter hydrostatic head on it we've got one side which is silicon coated and the other side is pu coated the weight of this tent is 3.1 kg so that's 6.8 pounds so it's not ridiculously light and it's not ridiculously heavy and the good thing with this tent is hill zero i've designed it so if you've got the scout one you can actually have the inner of that tent in here even with a stove which is really great the stove jack is literally just up there on on this end corner here yeah i'm really liking this tent really liking this tent i've actually got the inner of my scout one to put up in here because there's still despite the fact it's october there's still a few bugs floating about i don't know why but yeah so i'll have the inner to put in here which is going to be nice make it nice and cozy and when the temperature drops a bit more i'll come out in this with the stove and we use it as a hot tent for an overnighter that'd be quite nice so i'll get all this set up and then i'll get back to you everything's set up in here now i've got the scout one inner up fits in here perfectly it's brilliant for sleeping i've got the one tigris bushcrafter bag really do like this bag and i've got the light tour inflatable mat i've been using this mat quite a lot lately and i do really like it i'm a bit annoyed with myself though because i forgot my pillow but it's fine i'll use my jumper or something it's not it's not a problem is it it's bigger problems in the world than mark forgetting his pillow anyway just gotta get dingo's bed in here and all our bedding for the night is sorted it's done it's looking good in here i like it i do really like the hill zero gear and it's not just because i get sent the gear it's it is generally it is good quality gear and i've used been using it for a little while now had a lot of his stuff out in all types of weather it's never leaked on there it's never let me down big fan of the hill zero gear i had a lot of people commenting in one of my last videos i think it's where i compared the scout one and the scout two a few people were commenting oh oh it's a bit pricey oh it's a bit pricey for what it is the thing is right you've got to remember hill zero he makes these all all his stuff by hand they are not manufactured in a factory somewhere by thousands a day hundreds a day it's not done like that it's literally i think it's just it's him and i think one other person and they hand make all their gear like it's not done on massive great big machineries in a in a factory it's really not so that that's what you've got to remember you know so when people go oh it's a bit pricey yeah but it's not mass-produced there's more attention to detail in it because he's physically doing the work himself by hand so yeah think about that next time you moan about the price of something it's not a mass-produced item plus if you live here in the uk and you order something off his website all the shipping and custom fees is included in the price so you're not going to receive your tent and dpd message you going oh you owe us 30 pounds for custom fees custom duties is he accounts everything all of that into the price as well so you literally order it and it comes straight to your door hassle free there we go anyway i'm gonna have a break now i've had my little rant about it it just annoys me when people moan about the price of stuff and it's like it's all handmade it's not mass-produced in a factory buy it's hundreds thousands a day or a week so just bear that in mind anyway time for a cuppa i'm probably not going to film that i'm probably just going to uh make a brew and chill out for a bit my back's starting to hurt a little bit so i just want to chill out so i'll chat to you all in a bit tarah tarah see look there's a bug see this is what i was saying there's still bugs about buzz off you've got all this air space and you have to come in the tent don't get it but yeah brew time cup of coffee anti-murdery juicy juice chat you in a bit i've just been sitting here chilling out with a cup of coffee and uh dingo spotted a deer like i didn't even see it or hear it but she was going off her head off her head heckles up growling a lot barking her head right off like just just protecting but um you know she could definitely smell it as well she was you could see her sniff in the air but yeah she's going off her head bloody made me jump when she started almost spilt my coffee down me can't be losing anti-murdery juicy juice can we no itchy snog but uh yeah i'm just sitting here chilling out it was nice and peaceful until she started barking her head off she was going well into one proper off on one but just protecting that's all she's doing something come close to camp and she let me know which is a good thing i'll chat to you in a bit i'm uh wondering if alan's close by because alan has joined me i can normally hear him come in i haven't heard any twigs or anything cider o'clock absolutely i've got inches i've got copperberg oh copperberg you got that pear one again haven't you yeah yeah vintage pear i really like this i like that one cheers mate they've got it on offer at the moment because it's normally like 230 or something a can and at the moment you can get four cans for seven quid or something no that ain't bad no it works out quite cheap but we do still need to do firewood yes yeah because it looks like it's going to be wet yeah we're just going to use the fire pit the metal fire pit that we've got up here i yeah exactly so have some cider do some firewood preferably before the rain starts because it's starting to get a bit cloudy and there is more rain due yeah so cheers everyone chat to you in a bit we're going to get the fire going nothing fancy just a lighter and some wood wool jobs are good it has started raining but we knew that was going to happen so i'm going to put my dinner on i've got tonight don't worry not pot noodle i've got some uh beef stew and add with that some rice spicy mexican rice so simple one pot meal sling it all in the pot job done heat it up simple and easy chat to you in a bit the rain's coming down it's raining beef stew with my rice is done quick and easy simple as you can probably hear still raining alan's got his dinner on he's got stag chili it's not vegan chili is it no don't be so silly it's not silly chili it's good it's simple one pot meal it was good i'm gonna eat this drink some more cider this rain is meant to pass so i guess we'll wait for the rain to pass chat to you in a bit well me and alan have had our dinners i enjoyed mine which was good it was very good thank you i'm quite stuffed yeah i am as well adding rice to it really bulks it out yeah but i've uh just finished the last of my coffee alan's finished the last of his cider yeah and time's getting on a bit now so uh i ain't gonna have a late one tonight i don't know about you no no i need to yeah we've just been chilling out around the fire chatting a load of old crap as you do but if i don't chat to you again tonight i shall see you in the morning hey girl you're gonna say good night no you can't talk good morning got a nice cup of anti-murdery juicy juice really nice morning this morning sun's out no wind chilly though i noticed it when i got out my sleeping bag this morning i was all nice and snugly warm i didn't want to get up didn't want did you alan you didn't sleep very well did you kept waking up all night you are you are getting old older yeah i slept fine lovely lovely night's sleep i had back's hurting a little bit this morning though so um yeah he's telling me you did stuff yesterday yep i know yeah tent really happy with this tent right rained yesterday as you all know held up fine no leakage nothing at all so that's really good but i'm gonna have this and uh start packing away i'll leave link to hill zero website in the
