Dodgers clinch NL West

There it is the boys in blue do it again pulling off a victory against the Padres clinching the NOS for the third year in a row the Dodgers rallied in the seventh inning pulling ahead and Maintaining their lead for the final minutes of the game and what a game it was Rachel Manitow live outside Dodger Stadium That's where the fans are celebrating tonight. Hi Rachel Hi Rick, I share yeah crowds are filing out of the stadium right now and in true Dodger fashion The energy is really high fans say they are excited They're proud and they can finally breathe a sigh of relief after what was kind of a rollercoaster of a game It started off slow then the Padres took the lead It was tied and then Otani helped the Dodgers take over that lead now Both of these teams are already in the playoffs, but tonight's game was really about the coveted National League West title and the Dodgers can now say they have 11 titles in 12 seasons, but they had a very formidable opponent in the Padres We spoke to a couple of Padres fans tonight A lot of people drove up from San Diego to see their hometown team obviously walking away a little less than thrilled But they were very good sports very gracious You'll hear from them in just a moment turning back to our Dodgers thrilled might even be an understatement What do you think about this incredible Dodgers win At first it was kind of skeptical because I bleed blue and I love Dodgers You know, there's always room for a comeback as soon as Otani got up there They now have the title it was all about the title. Yes, and you know, we're gonna take it all the way because 2020 we got robbed. We had no parade. We had no celebration So this year is our year and we're gonna celebrate all the way around go out a This is my first Dodgers game, I loved it so happy to be here I moved here from the Midwest. So the energy in a Dodgers stadium was like no other It's a good good reminder to stay to the end my you gotta figure like you don't know what's gonna happen So, what are your thoughts about the game? How you feeling? I've been along as we have Otani and Mookie best back-to-back. We're unstoppable. They take they carry our team And wherever they take us, that's as far as we go. What's your reaction? I'm sorry about your loss tonight Yeah, how are you feeling? It's tough, you know, but like we still clinch the playoffs. So that's good. But Look, Otani is great. Like the Dodgers are great and like I can't complain like we we lost the game But we're gonna come back. Like I'm not really that worried about it and one Dodgers fan told me that tonight's game was a good example of why you have to stay until the very end because Things can change so dramatically so rapidly in some of the later innings now The Dodgers have had a record-breaking season Otani achieved a 50-50 in a single season something that's never been done in Baseball before and many fans are hoping that they keep a little bit of this magic Into the postseason and I have a feeling they will we're live outside Dodger Stadium.
