Rachel Zegler Says She Joined Shazam! Because She Needed A Job & Talks Taylor Swift Tickets

What made you want to step into this world of DC heroes? I needed a job. I'm being so serious. I mean, a lot of people keep asking me, hi, Adam, my agents over there. Hi, Ken, my lawyer, my entire family is here. Hi, everybody. No, I mean, the reality was we were in the middle of a pandemic and I was not working and I couldn't get a job for the life of me because West Side Story hadn't come out yet. And it was really hard to book work for me. So I was really excited when this came in my inbox. I love the first movie and the fact that they even wanted me to come in for a callback and then a camera and then everything in between. I'm so lucky that I got this job. I made some of my best friends on this job and I just absolutely adore this movie, too. So I'm excited. I loved what I saw you post on Instagram about the film with a Taylor Swift lyric from Long Live. I know you're a Swifty like I am. Yes, huge Swifty. And I had the time of my life fighting dragons with these people. So her tour starts this Friday. So I have to ask, have you secured your tickets? Do you know when you're going? I got screwed by Ticketmaster, too, guys. Celebrities are just like us. No, I don't have tickets. You need to make some calls. We need to make this happen. No, I know. But also, I just want everybody who worked really hard to get those seats to get them and get to see it. I will see her some other time. You know how it is. And you were saying, you know, you were having a hard time getting a job. But girl, now you are booked and busy. You have Snow White coming out next year. But of course, the Little Mermaid trailer premiered during the Oscars. What was your reaction when you saw that? I'm so proud of Halle. I'm so proud of everything that she's going to be doing for little black girls and little black kids in general who are going to see themselves in her on screen. It's such a beautiful thing. Representation is so important on such a huge medium like a Disney film. So I really, truly believe that we're turning a corner when it comes to rep and movies like that. And Halle is the reason for the season. So and finally, this is a DC movie. But of course, you have a close relationship with Disney now. Could we ever see you step into the Marvel universe? I would love a job. That's all I have to say. I'll take a job. And I love I've obviously grew up loving Marvel movies and DC movies. If I was contractually allowed to live the best of both worlds, then I would. Thank you so much.
