from zero to it hero in 10 days sounds
too good to be true right well stick
around because I'm about to Spill the
tea on course careers it help Des course
what's up Freedom Seekers Shane here and
today we're diving deep into a burning
question is course careers it help desk
course really worth it and we're going
to be talking about career changes
remote work possibilities and cold hard
cash so if you're tired of your 9 to-5
grind and you're dreaming of a Tech
Career this video might just change your
life so let's break it down and see if
this course is your golden ticket or
just another online pipe dream so first
of all what is course careers it help
desk course well this is an online
program designed to get you job ready
for entrylevel it positions and we're
talking help Des technical support that
kind of gig and the kicker it's designed
for complete beginners no experience
required no fancy degree required either
and they claim to teach you everything
you need to know in just 4 to 12 weeks
sounds pretty sweet right but is it too
good to be true well let's dig a Little
Deeper now let's talk about the brain
behind this op operation Josh Mador and
this guy isn't just some random dude who
decided to make an online course Josh
has been in the it game since 2007 and
he started as a help desk technician and
he climbed the ladder all the way up to
getting a software developer job at
Microsoft so when we're talking about
learning it we're learning from someone
who's been there done that and probably
wrote the manual now one thing they do
offer for this course is a free training
that basically tells you what it help
desk is the most important parts of it
and how you can get into it and if you
want to check out that free training
I'll put it down in the description and
the pin comment below now let's talk
about the Saul success story and this
guy story is what has probably caught a
lot of people's attention Saul was
working in a warehouse probably feeling
stuck like many of us have at some point
and he stumbled upon course career it
program and thought why not and guess
what happened next in just 10 days yes
you heard that right 10 days Saul landed
a job offer in it uh IED a job oper for
I think four of the seven that I
interviewed with and of the four uh job
offerers the one that seemed the most
appealing to me was the one uh that was
$26 an hour so I decided to go with that
one and that was 10 days after I
enrolled in course careers but wait it
gets even better Saul wasn't even
finished with the course when he started
getting interviews he was only 55% done
and he had 30 companies knocking on his
door now Saul is making $28 an hour and
that's about
$58,000 a year so he went from working
minimum wage to $58,000 a year in 10
days also check out this comment from
one of Josh's students this person
dropped out of D School stumbled upon
Josh's work and now has 130k plus salary
jobs reaching out to interview and hire
him and he says that Josh is one of the
very very few legit people who is
actually trying to help now that is what
I call a career glowup and this student
even says that they' buy the course just
to pay Josh back for all the free
content that he gives out but is Sal
story and others who said this course is
good typical or are they just a one in a
million success well let's look at what
the course actually offers course
careers it help desk course covers a
pretty impressive range of topics hard
Hardware Basics operating systems
networking fundamentals cyber security
Basics cloud computing intro but here's
where it gets interesting they don't
just teach you the tech stuff they also
cover customer service skills how to
work tickets interview preparation and
resume building and it's kind of like a
complete career makeover in a box now
I've got to say this is pretty
comprehensive it's not just about
memorizing Tech draggon they're actually
preparing you for the real world of it
whereas most courses out there will
teach you a bunch of stuff but they
don't actually teach you what's
important in the workplace and they
don't teach you how to actually land the
job okay so the course sounds good but
what about the job market is it really
where it's at well according to the
Bureau of Labor Statistics IT jobs are
projected to grow 133% in the next 10
years and that's faster than the average
for all occupations and here's the thing
the median annual wage for computer and
information technology occupations was
$91,000 in 2020 and that's more than
twice the median annual wage for all
other types of occupations so yeah it is
hot and it's not cooling down anytime
soon now let's talk money because let's
face it that's a big part of whether
something is worth it or not first of
all there is a free intro course the
intro course is actually really good and
it gives you a lot of value and it kind
of just gives you an overview of what
you need to know now the course itself
at least at the time of recording this
is approximately $499 if you pay one
time or $150 bi-weekly in four payment
installments now if you're seriously
considering giving this it thing a shot
I highly recommend you check out the
free course it's a great way to dip your
toes in and see if it is right for you
just click the link in the description
to get started no strings attached just
valuable information to help you make an
informed decision about your future just
think about it compared to traditional
College tuition or even some other
online courses or boot camps this is
incredibly affordable but is it worth it
well let's do some quick math if you
land a job like sa at $28 an hour you're
looking at around $58,000 a year the
course is $500 and that's less than 1%
of your potential first year salary on
top of that if you look at the
alternative College that's going to take
you 5.1 years on average yes I said 5.1
years because usually bachelor's degrees
do take 5.1 years on average and so if
you go this route instead of getting a
college degree by the time you would
have graduated with a degree you'd
already have made over
$250,000 from your job so you also have
to take opportunity cost into account
and from where I'm standing that looks
like a pretty good return on investment
so the world is changing colleges
obviously can't keep up with a rapidly
changing economy with new skills and new
jobs popping up all the time and because
of that people like Josh and companies
like course careers AKA alternative
education are starting to get people
jobs left and right is it right for
everyone of course not but is it right
for a lot of people out there absolutely
now let's talk about support now one
thing that really stands out about
course careers is the support they offer
you get access to expert coaches a
community of fellow Learners job search
guidance and resume creation help and
this isn't just a hear some videos Good
Luck kind of course they're actually
invested in your success and the reason
for that is because course careers
actually places people in companies and
they get paid by the companies for a
successful placement so they're
incentivized to actually care about you
being successful after you pay for the
course and let's be real when you're
making a career change having that that
support can make all the difference not
only the logical side of the support but
also just having emotional support as
well so all right I know what you're
thinking Shane This sounds too good to
be true what's the catch well I wouldn't
be doing my job if I didn't look at
potential downsides first of all it's
intense 4 to 12 weeks is a short time to
learn a new career you can't just
casually study this you really do have
to take it seriously you need to be
self-motivated and it's also online so
no one's forcing you to study so you
basically have to stop yourself from
getting distracted and watching cat
videos on YouTube and actually really
put your head down and study this stuff
it's not super hard but at the same time
you have to put in the work and there's
also no guarantees while they offer
great support Landing a job is still up
to you and they're not going to place
you with a company unless you're
actually good and it's entry level
you're not going to be a senior it
manager right away but honestly these
aren't really downsides as much as
they're realities any career change is
going to take work and any type of
education doesn't have a guarantee
College doesn't have a guarantee
certifications don't have guarantees
even boot camps usually don't have
guarantees so the question is whether
the potential reward is worth it so is
the course careers it help desk course
worth it in my opinion the answer is a
resounding yes you're getting
comprehensive training job search
support and the potential for a
high-paying career and all of that is
for less than the cost of a new iPhone
but here's the thing it's only worth it
if you're ready to put in the work this
is not going to be a magic pill it's a
tool a really good tool but still a tool
now if you're ready to take control of
your career learn new skills and push
yourself then yeah I'd say this course
is definitely worth it and if you're not
100% sure or you just want to dip your
toe in go ahead and check out the free

online as well including from my own
