A Tragic Truth: The Chinese Communist Party's Merciless Hunt for the Elderly
Welcome to Perfect Harmony Channel. Today, we delve into a shocking truth.
Imagine reaching the final years of your life only to face harassment,
imprisonment, and torture simply for your beliefs.
This is the harsh reality for elderly Falun Gong practitioners in China.
In recent years, reports of persecution against elderly Falun Gong practitioners have flooded in,
each story more heartbreaking than the last. The Chinese Communist Party has not spared
these individuals, subjecting even those in their 80s to detention, torture, and harassment.
These are not just words. For the CCP, it's a systematic plan,
a policy aimed to erase any trace of Falun Gong practitioners from society.
Let's begin with Shilian Yu, an 80-year-old practitioner from Hubei.
She was a retired employee of a latex factory.
More than 20 years ago, she was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
What was her crime? Simply appealing for the right to practice her beliefs.
But prison wasn't just a confinement, it became a place of relentless torture.
She suffered brutal torture, including 10 days handcuffed and shot by police.
Despite a relentless 8-year sentence and severe abuse, she remained unyielding.
On June 14, 2016, when she was released from unjust imprisonment, she was already blind.
In August 2023, she passed away.
Now, meet Liao Enan, an 88-year-old woman from Baiyin City, Ganzhou.
She has faced relentless persecution, having been illegally sentenced in December 2023
to 6 years and 9 months in prison.
Due to her failing health, she was placed under residential surveillance.
However, her home has not been a sanctuary police harass her multiple times each month.
This is not her first encounter with law enforcement.
Over the past two decades, Liao has been abducted and detained multiple times.
Following a police raid in January 2022,
she fell ill during interrogation and required emergency medical care.
Her family could not afford the treatment because her pension had been withheld for nearly 9 years.
Now, with her extended sentence,
Liao lives in a state of fear, robbed of peace in her twilight years.
Another victim is Yang Zhicheng, an 82-year-old senior engineer from Guangzhou.
Arrested in 2019 after sharing information about Falun Gong,
he was sentenced to 5 years and fined heavily.
His health has steadily worsened high blood pressure, hearing loss,
and unsteady movement but despite these conditions,
he was denied bail and spent years in Sihui prison.
Chengxu Rong, at 80 years old, was punished simply for sharing her test during the pandemic.
She was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months, fined 10,000 yuan and on January 2nd this year,
taken to Liaoning Women's Prison into a special unit
designed for the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
In July 2024, Zheng was finally released
but the physical and emotional toll of those years cannot be erased.
And these are not isolated cases.
There is Lin Junxi, 80 years old, from Heilongjiang.
Sentenced to house arrest in 2021 but in early 2023,
she was detained again, frail and weaving only 93 pounds at the time.
Or Yun Sanyi from Liaoning, who faced relentless harassment
even after serving a 3-year sentence,
passing away at 83 after enduring repeated threats and isolation.
And finally, Shi Linning, in her 80s, from Chengchun.
Detained in 2022, she lost her ability to walk due to mistreatment,
her body covered in sores and suffered extreme hardship in prison.
So what is Falun Dafa, the practice that these elderly practitioners hold so dear?
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a spiritual practice rooted in the Buddhist school,
with its core values of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance.
It guides millions worldwide, helping them find health, happiness and a sense of true purpose.
Since its rise to prominence in the late 1990s with an estimated 100 million adherents in China,
Falun Gong has been subjected to a severe crackdown initiated by Jiang Zemin,
then the leader of the Chinese Communist Party.
Since then, under Jiang's direction, practitioners have faced brutal torture,
unlawful imprisonment and a relentless campaign of propaganda and defamation.
Despite facing intense persecution, practitioners remain steadfast,
inspiring those who seek truth and peace.
The question is how much longer can this continue?
And how many more lives will be lost before something changes?

these elderly practitioners endure.
