The MTV European Music Awards brought fierce competition and historic wins. While Taylor Swift dominated the night with four prestigious awards, she missed the ceremony to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce. From Taylor to Busta Rhymes, here's everything you need to know about this year's biggest winners. The MTV European Music Awards in Manchester lit up the night with some of the industry's brightest stars, and leading the winner's circle was Taylor Swift. Despite her absence, Swift took home four major awards, including Best Artist and Best Live Artist. Her collaboration with Post Malone on Fortnite snagged Best Video, and she also claimed the title of Best U.S. Act. Though she couldn't attend the awards in person due to her ongoing Eurostore commitments and her support for Kelce's latest game, Swift graciously accepted her accolades through a video message, expressing deep gratitude to her fans and giving a shout-out to Post Malone for his contribution. While Taylor may have swept the floor, other stars also shone brightly. Tyla took home three awards, celebrating her rise in the global music scene. Her wins included Best R&B, Best Afrobeats, and Best African Act. Sabrina Carpenter made her mark with a win for Best Song for her hit Espresso, thrilled to see her fans embrace her music. Although she missed the ceremony, Sabrina promised her European fans she'd return soon on her short and sweet tour. And there were more celebrations as Ariana Grande secured the Best Pop title, Eminem grabbed Best Hip-Hop, and Calvin Harris took home Best Electronic. Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes had a memorable night as he accepted the Global Icon Award, marking his first MTV award in a 34-year career. In a heartfelt speech, he thanked LL Cool J for inspiring him, his mother for being his rock, and acknowledged hip-hop's boundless influence. Reflecting on the legacy he's determined to leave, Busta vowed he and his generation would pave the way for future icons. Meanwhile, Rita Ora made history as the first person to host the MTV EMAs three times, bringing charm and excitement to the stage. Held at Manchester's Co-op Live Arena, the event featured electrifying performances from Shawn Mendes, Ray, Blue Seraphim, and others, making it an unforgettable night despite last year's cancellation in Paris due to security concerns.
