Okay, so first off, clap along with me.
Change direction, change direction.
So we have four to each side, okay?
So now we're going to walk in a square, walking four steps.
You don't have to be big steps, but do try and walk as freely as you can.
One, two, here we go.
So you see, I'm back right where I began.
Okay, now let's do that again, but this time, remember,
try to prepare when you're going to turn.
One, two, and here we go.
Prepare and...
All right, so now, instead of doing the four steps that way,
I'm just going to do one, two, three, four, and one big one.
One, two, three, four, and the last big one.
One, two, and here I go.
Now I'm not exactly back where I began, but that's the idea,
to have that movement.
Now let's do it with our hands.
One, two, three, and go.
Now you see that I'm not changing every four.
I'm changing every one, two, three, four, one, two, three, and one, two, three, four,
one, two, three, and.
So when am I changing?
How many beats does it take for me to change?
Eight, eight beats.
This time, let's do it with the music.
Did you hear the pattern?
Okay, here it goes again.
What was the pattern?
Eight, one, and eight, one.
You see, I'm repeating the last one.
So even though that we have eight, sometimes it just goes one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
All right, so because I'm not going to be able to stop on the very, very last one.
I mean, I can, but it's difficult.
Now let's have a look at the actual worksheet and how we're going to do the phrasing in this one.
All right, let's do one thing.
Let's say ta, te, ti, to, tu.
All right, so we're going to use those and we're going to change from ta, to te, to ti,
whenever there's a half note or a quarter note followed by a rest.
Okay, here we go.
One, two, three, four.
All right, so now it's your turn.
Okay, this you have to practice, but you have to do it alone.
All right, now I'm going to go with the phrasing and now I'm going to mark it here.
This is the most evident phrasing because it has a natural resting point.
So I have how many beats?
Eight, four, four, eight, four, four.
It's the same phrasing up here, the first system, then the second system.
They're the same length in phrases.
Eight beats, four beats, four beats, eight beats, four, four.
Even if I don't have the last one, the last audible beat,
there might be, the melody might stop here, but the melody, the music, the music goes on.
The next one.
And what is going to make it very discernible for me to listen to the phrases?
I'm going to breathe here in this part here.
That's what's going to make it really pop.
Now, you have to be careful when you're breathing here.
I mean, I exaggerate a little bit, but don't overdo it because you might get a little bit
dizzy.
Let's leave this exercise like this.
And then the other thing you have to do, you have to do the rest of these.
You have to mark the phrasing.
For example, if I do this one.
This goes all the way up here.
Okay, so I have four, four.
Oh, there's a small mistake here.
Four, four, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Yeah, am I right?
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
Yes.
And then again, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
And then one, two, three, four, one, two, three, four.
So I have four, four, eight, eight, four, four.
So it's like a mirror.
Okay, number one or number two.
So you're going to choose one of those and you are going to sing a melody with the phrasings
that are here.
For example, if I choose number one.
One, two, three, four.
So the very important thing, it must sound like an ending here.
It must sound like an ending.
And you gotta have these phrasing very well established.
All right?
So that's the exercise.
You choose either number one or number two.
Do not choose number three for the performance.
Okay?
The performance is only on exercises one or two.
What?
You want me to show you number two?
All right.
One, two.
Here we go.
There we go.
All right.
So have fun and I hope to see those videos soon.
