Take that. Birded it yesterday McElroy and he's in fine spot there as well.
Can he judge the breeze here Rory?
Yeah it's a sleeper. Fourth hardest hole in the course this. Just about the best we've seen,
the best I've seen anyway. Gets it pin high that's not an easy feat for McElroy.
Well we knew it because we've seen it. But it seems that no one is immune.
Looking anxiously. He hit it 3.58 down here yesterday. That's probably about 3.30.
Can he resist the flag? Go. Doesn't look like it.
Well it was good enough. That's a fine shot for McElroy. He was trying to
hit that up into the stratosphere. To get to 10 under par. Should it drop?
Pretty well judged.
Honestly see how Rory gets this one tight to the flag here off the downslope. Pitching on a
downslope. Oh there you go. I've been Rory'd. Yeah it looks impossible to be honest.
Great up and down from McElroy. Yeah it's dropped right off all of a sudden.
Should have gone earlier. It was a close but everything is against him.
It came out low and skiddy as well. I'm sure that was the flight he was after but off the downslope.
That was exactly what was going to happen. Just a misread. He hit it exactly where he was trying to.
Rory you have to accept that. Can't read them all. Very difficult bunker shot at the par. It's
so firm underneath the sand isn't it? You can't get the club under it. Well it's a tough hole.
Yeah it's a difficult tee shot with the blustery winds. Head on the long side which is probably
the worst of the two options. Yeah that's a good aggressive play.
They've done their homework. There's more space around that pin than it looks from his angle.
Really took it a yard right of the hole. Super aggressive from McElroy.
It looks left to right but I've got a feeling it turned against the heel.
Either way it's in. Worked that out well didn't he from the fairway McElroy.
This is still in the air this one. Get going. Oh my oh my. Yeah it's good now. Brilliant now.
Well it's launched high into the clear blue sky and he's brought it down almost on a dime.
What an almost impossible shot that was. I thought he was going to get what he deserved.
Sara Birdie and McElroy stays in touch with Rasmus Heugen who is setting a furious pace at the top.
A little bit like at seven wasn't it? Just flirted with the first cut of rough that
bounces back into the fairway. Softly through it shouldn't be spinning too much and it wasn't.
Oh Rory who loves your baby. What a shot. A little mid-wedge. It's as good a three as you'll ever
see on this hole. Oh so simple. Can he judge the distance? Sounded like the top of the club.
Oh it came out very softly just as you thought. I think if it had hit the green it might have
released out but it dug into the fringe. I think he needs to go high though to stop it because it's
quite violently downhill. Yeah that's going to run away. Left to right. Preparation's key I think on
chipping and from memory Rory didn't go around the other side of the hole so I don't think he
quite knew how steep that bank was you know. I don't see him deep green it very often up the hill.
That is going to be the second drop shot today for Rory McIlroy.
So he slides back alongside Rosner at 10 under and Heughan leads by two once again.
Well his body reaction sort of said it wasn't as good as that. That's fine 10 feet pin high.
And does Jamie right in the heart of the cup.
And the top three just sneaking away from the peloton. This is a part of the game that's just
so good nowadays. Just ridiculous absolutely ridiculous. To use one of your phrases Kenny's
marmalized it. He's marmalized it yes. Can he take advantage just slightly on the upslope that's the
only issue here. Well pretty good from Rory. Just a driver pitch really with a nine iron and the
hardest hole on the course. If I was to say anything maybe just a hair left to right but
I'm not convinced. It looks straight it is straight. Back-to-back birdies for Rory McIlroy
and he joins Rasmus Heughan in a share of the lead. Low 170s even though it's slightly up the hill.
Tiny little target to find. He'd be forgiven a few could bail out not Rory. He's looking high
in the sky. Oh for the few to nearly hold it by the flag down the breeze and a very small portion
of green there. Short well it's a good tee shot but uh it's going to be a difficult pitch in there.
Some chipper is Anthony Walt.
Yeah but we've seen it all day long haven't we. The pace beat it.
Perfection. Bailed out. What's the result going to be? Sand.
Will it keep running?
Slightly below par for a man of his caliber but it will give him
some 12 feet or so for a final birdie.
The lead into the final round on his own. Millimeters away. Spent a lot of time in there.
The pace beat it. Rory a round of 68 including six birdies and two bogeys. Give us your verdict
on the day to play. Yeah um yeah I mean overall I think it was a good score. It was a little
windier today and the conditions were a little trickier so um you know to go out and shoot
something you know pretty good and get myself you know and you know with it tied for the league going
into the last day is good. I fell after the birdie on 12 um you know you've got 14 15 and 18 is
really good birdie chances that I didn't take advantage of so a little disappointed with that
but um you know still obviously a really good position going into tomorrow. Came into the week
with a dual agenda. Barring a miracle you've secured your sixth race to Dubai uh obviously
with Tristan's position being so far back. Does that allow you to free your mind now and just
focus totally on winning this championship? Yeah I mean honestly that's all I've been focused on the
entire week anyway you know starting off with a good score on Thursday with the 67 um you know
my focus was was firmly turned on on winning the tournament um I put myself in a good position to
try to do that tomorrow uh you know and as I said at the start of the week my goal tomorrow is to be
on that 18th green with two trophies instead of one. I was with one of the Hogarth brothers on
the 18th last year hopefully I'm not on it with him I'm with the other one tomorrow. You've spoken
about this successful season that's just been tinged with that disappointment of missing out
on a couple of big ones what would it mean for you to be standing on that green with both trophies?
Yeah it would mean a lot um you know this is my you know tomorrow is going to be my last competitive
round of the year so um yeah it would be a an amazing way to to finish off the year um a year
of a lot of close calls along with a lot of really good golf and and some wins along the way
you know I've I was to do it tomorrow I'd walk away from this year with four worldwide wins which
um is is still pretty good so uh yeah you know like I'm I'm excited about tomorrow it's a it's
an opportunity to to end the year on a really good note I'm gonna go out there and um you know try to
get it done. Really appreciate it. Thanks. Cheers Tim. To watch another DP World Tour video click here
