Today we're at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam.
It's a site that stands as a symbol of the nation's deep respect for education and culture.
Founded in 1070 AD, the temple was originally dedicated to Confucius.
It later became Vietnam's first national university,
where scholars studied the principles of Confucianism and literature.
The temple is made up of five serene courtyards.
Each one reflects a different aspect of learning, meditation and academic pursuit.
In the third courtyard, you'll find stone tablets inscribed with the names of successful scholars.
These tablets serve as a reminder of the temple's historical role
in shaping Vietnam's intellectual heritage.
Even today, students come here to pray for success in their studies,
keeping the temple's legacy alive as a place of learning and devotion.
The Temple of Literature remains a cultural icon,
honouring Vietnam's dedication to education and the pursuit of knowledge.
As we reflect on the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom,
let us also pray for the people of Vietnam to come to know the knowledge and truth of Jesus Christ.
We'd love to know if you've been to the Temple of Literature
or any of Hanoi's other cultural landmarks. Let us know in the comments below.
Thanks for watching.
