Are you doing double? Double, double, double, double?
No, I'm just seeing them. I see you.
Alright, cool. My video then. Focus on me, bro.
Alright, cool. Well, we're here. Come on, Hoonigan and that. We're repping today.
And I think this is how we're going to start. It's just going to be right off the cuff.
Sorry about the noise. We've got some crazy cars around.
But today, it's this versus that Hoonigan and I'm running the 10.
So, stay tuned. It's going to be amazing.
Welcome to Officially Gap.
Let's get it.
For the best in universal, premium, ester-containing engine oils and fuel additives
for both petrol and diesel engines, check the links in the description.
So, we are here at Santa Pod Raceway with Hoonigan UK.
I'm actually doing a little bit of hosting, but today I thought I'd bring you with me
because not only am I hosting, I'm actually racing my DC5 Integra Type R.
You all know it's been a mad journey with this car.
Massive shout-out to Autotorque because they have literally moved heaven and earth
to get this car ready for today.
Massive shout-out to Josh, making all the noise in the background
because without him, we honestly would not be here today.
Massive shout-out to Racecar and Romain because, again, like the last-minute mapping session,
everything was just, listen, we made it here.
You guys will probably already know because the video would have went live already
that this is now making over 1,000bhp, which was the target for this turbo and setup.
So, we've done that, 909 at the wheels, which is a UK record for any K20.
So, we're breaking records. All we need to do today is not break the car,
hopefully break more records, win our race.
So, we've got a few things to do. This car has never been driven on a slick,
so today we're going to find out.
So, I thought I'd just bring you with me to show you what happens behind the scenes.
We've got Big Regan behind the camera and he is going to be capturing everything.
If you miss out on it, it's his fault.
So, enjoy and let's get into it.
First time back in the car in over six months and we're straight on a strip
for our test pass before we actually do our main race.
I think we're going to get a couple of test passes.
First time I'm ever driving it on slicks.
So, yeah, I'm not sure what this car is going to do.
We're all going to find out together.
For our first pass, we're just going to be running our old boost setup.
So, we're going to be about 920 brake horsepower.
Remains for a little bit of timing out just to make sure everything's happy on the car
before we actually turn it up a little bit.
So, yeah, this is going to be, it's going to be savage.
All right, no pressure, pressure.
We've got the boys from Hoonigan here.
All right, lads, here we go. Let's do this.
Ready.
Three seconds. Let's go.
2.2 seconds to 60.
A 3.8, 900 to 200.
We've been quicker.
That is epic.
But that is with 100 brake horsepower pulled out.
It sounded good.
Bro, so the way it took off.
Oh, the arm work.
This is what slicks are about.
I think I changed or short-shifted early on a few of them.
Yeah, two of them at the top.
Because I think you probably...
I'm used to the old rev limit.
Also, you went so fast for a second.
Yes, yes, yes.
And it started to walk around a little bit up top.
I'm not sure if you saw that.
I'm really happy already to run a 9.3 off the trailer.
That is the epitome of off the trailer.
Zero prep time.
First time I drove that car in six months.
The first official hit on it.
Power pulled out of it.
Timing pulled out of it.
The boost was pulled out.
A 9.3, a PB on a first hit.
So, do I think the car's got an A in it?
That, I think, is the question with all the power.
I think so.
Whether or not we'll get it today, I'm not sure.
But it can definitely go faster.
We know that for a fact.
So, let's see what happens in the next testing.
Should be soon.
I am full boost, yeah?
Okay, cool.
He was telling me you weren't, so I was a bit confused.
Yeah.
Just in case I get surprised.
Let's go.
A 3.7, 300 to 200.
I think that is our personal best.
I might be wrong, but a 9.2.
We're in a 9.2, so we're lower.
I think I really, really short shifted fourth there.
I'm not sure.
We've done PBs.
We've done PBs, boys.
We've got to be happy with that.
So, that's our last test, pretty much.
Run another PB.
A 9.2, a 9.29 on my timing equipment.
157.
Now, we have previously trapped.
I think our best trap was 156.9, so we're there or thereabouts.
Now, we're making more power.
I'm not sure why we didn't trap a little bit higher.
Intake temps are quite hot.
So, we're going to go.
We know the car can get down to the bottom of the track now.
That is the main thing.
So, we're just going to go with the flow.
I'm up for a race.
I think the BMW we're racing runs a 9.3.
I've just run a 9.2 on my gear.
So, it should be a close race, but they ping off the line.
But you know what?
I'm going to do it for the Honda, boys, regardless.
Let's go.
It should be very close.
I think you're going to get off the line quicker.
Yeah.
And I think I might have to try and run you down.
I don't know.
It's the gear changes as well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Imagine if you had a semi-automatic gearbox.
Automatic, just let it go.
Yeah, yeah.
We tried max boost in the higher gears, and we're getting faster,
but also seeing the intake temps go through the top.
So, we've actually just cut the front bumper to allow more air through,
but we've also dropped the boost a tiny bit because we think, really,
we're taking the mech a little bit with the boost we're commanding,
and it's probably just pumping hot air out at this point.
So, we've brought it down a bit, and hopefully it does all right.
We're up against a pretty fast BMW, which is going to be repeatable,
but if we can get everything back together and get everything in line,
we should do well.
All right.
First race, lads.
Let's do it for the Honda, boys.
It's all about reactions here because this 60 foot's going to be mad,
and, yeah, it's just a mad car.
It's 1,000 brake horsepower, what a BMW.
Hey, brother.
You remembered?
Yeah, you're going to give me all that.
I'll get it on launch, and then it's up.
Let's go, baby.
Let's go.
Did I jump him, or did I hit it right?
Big time.
That's an official 9.2 Santa Fe.
You just sounded as clean as the first one.
Right, it was.
It was moving around up top, though.
It was moving around.
I kind of looked down for my shift light, so I knew I was going towards the wall.
He's going to be excited.
2.1 seconds to 60.
It's 3.75.
Yeah, so, I mean, the car's got more in it.
The car's got more in it.
I've checked the temp.
Let's see what the temp's doing.
A chase is a race, no?
Yeah.
All right, listen, it's exciting.
I couldn't.
I saw the hands up.
I tried to time it, and, yeah, I literally...
A chase is a race.
Didn't I? What did I tell you?
Ready.
You was flying, man.
My reactions were terrible.
You went, I was like, oh, yeah, you just went.
I hit a pressure trip up top.
I don't know if my coolant pressure raised, which is bad,
so we're going to find out, but my car cut right at the top.
Yeah, yeah, took the throttle away.
It tripped.
Something tripped.
What?
Something tripped.
So it tripped?
Something.
I lost it.
Cut the power.
Right at the top.
Did you shut the engine off?
No.
My reactions were terrible there.
I looked as I turned.
He went, and I was like, oh, shit.
Right, guys, so right now what we've got is the boys working on the car on my last run,
my actual race run where he got the hit.
My reactions were terrible.
Top end of fourth, hit a trip.
Turns out it was the coolant trip.
We're not sure why.
It's kind of looking like we might be lifting the head.
We shouldn't be lifting the head.
Not with this new engine and new setup.
So I'm faced with an option.
Run again, potentially lose the engine or cool it a day.
Problem is I jumped hard on the first one, hit a trip on the second one.
I feel like I need to do something.
I'm swaying towards raising the coolant pressure trip threshold and turning the boost down
and running in low boost and just see what happens just to get the race in.
But let's see what they say.
All right.
For the culture.
Full send.
Low power.
Or low boost, should I say.
Let's see what she can do for the culture.
Ready.
He got me with all the race.
I was chasing him down.
That was so close at the end, man.
At least we made it happen.
I was coming, I was coming, but I couldn't catch her.
I couldn't catch you.
Honestly, that's what I wanted.
A good old race.
Yeah, it was close at the end.
I was holding on for dear life.
And then I looked to the side and you were just there.
I was coming, I was coming.
But yeah, man, credit to you, bro.
That's a sick build.
I enjoyed that.
There's an issue, but obviously the car's running.
It's running sweet at lower boost.
And is your engine still running?
Yeah, we're still running.
See how sturdy his seat is?
Bro, my ****.
I need to go back home and check on my ****.
He exits at 963 versus 965.
That's mental.
So you were right there.
That's mental.
Everybody thought you had won.
I was coming, I was coming, but I don't know what it looked like at the end.
But I want to say he was at least a car ahead.
Yeah, he was.
That's about right.
You sent it and...
We completed the race, bro.
That's what I wanted to do.
Do you know what?
I went over there and I was like, I jumped the first one so hard.
I can't finish now.
You know what I mean?
So anyway, now I'm happy I've done it.
Either way, the people win.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
100%.
For the culture.
All right, guys.
So I don't know if...
Yeah, this probably went live after the actual race.
This versus that.
UK, Hoonigan.
First and foremost, a massive shout out to Hoonigan for having me, for putting on this
in the UK.
But even more so, to Autotalk, to Josh, and also to RaceCal and Romain, because those
boys, honestly, have moved heaven and earth to make it here today.
It's a bit of a bittersweet right now, because I don't know where I'm at with the car.
We turn it right up, it seems like we're getting head lift.
Maybe, maybe.
I'm not 100% sure.
We need to determine that.
But this car should be able to take all the boost with itself.
And that's the baby turbo.
So we got a PB, a 9.24, I think it was.
And again, on a small turbo, so the car's definitely got more in it.
That's only a few hits, barely any dialing in time, and it's doing those kind of times.
A 9.3 off the trailer.
Yeah, we didn't win the races, unfortunately, today.
That's the other thing.
But the last race, when we turned it down to medium boost to actually just try and finish
the race, it was a very close race.
He got me on reaction time.
I think that was solely it.
So yeah, man, that's what it is.
I hope you guys enjoyed the behind the scenes.
It's back to the drawing board.
To a certain extent, we're going to find out what's wrong with the car.
I think it'll go straight big turbo now, and a slightly more aggressive setup.
And just hopefully keep pushing on into those eights.
So yeah, smash that subscribe button if you haven't already.
Catch you on the next one.
Peace out.
