Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. Today I'm doing a review of the NYX
Lift and Snatch Brow Pen. This is less of a how to achieve more of a review of the
actual product because I do have a ton of tutorials on how to achieve the
natural fluffy brow. However I am still going to talk you
through what I'm doing but it's more to review it because you guys asked for it.
So this is the Lift and Snatch Brow Pen. I have got the shade
Taupe but it does come in 10 different shades.
This one is cruelty free and it's also an affordable brow pen
in comparison to two of the others that I do love to use.
As you'll see this has a very fine tip much like the other two that I love to
use. We have the Urban Decay Brow Blade, the
MAC Shape and Shade Brow Tin and then we have the NYX Lift and Snatch.
If you think about the tip it's like an art brush. It's made of loads of tiny
little fibers that come to a point as opposed to like some eyeliner tips
which are made of felt or they are made of foam.
My ultimate favourite is the Urban Decay Brow Blade because the nib
is so so thin but the colour of the Shape and Shade Brow Tin tends to suit me
better. So the NYX one is perfect because the
Taupe shade is almost identical to Fling by MAC
but it also has the tiny nib like the Urban Decay. It's also the most
affordable out of the three but I have found after using it for a
week or two it's not as reliable in terms of getting the ink out.
So although it's the happy medium between the two I'm finding that I'm
already reaching for alternative pens because this one doesn't always come out
very well. So as always I'm going to start at the
base of my brow. This is when I first got the pen so the ink comes out really
really well. After a few goes it's not that it's
dried out it just doesn't seem to have the same
payoff. It's fine when you first take the lid off but by the time you get to the
middle of your brow you really have to keep shaking the pen
to try and get that ink down into the nib. However for its affordability I
still think it's really good and you might find that with the slightly deeper
shades it's probably a little bit more reliable
or a little bit more obvious with the ink. So I always start the base of the
front of my brow flicking the hairs upwards.
Now as you can see I am going above my natural hairs
and when I put the temporary guide across the brow in a moment you'll see
why. It's really good if you can have an artistic eye to see the shape that
you're creating. So I need to extend the very front of my brows
ever so slightly higher in order to get more of a straight brow as we go along
the outer half of the eyebrow. Once we get a third of the way along I change
the angle of my brush and instead of flicking upwards I'm now
bringing the hairs downwards because this is the way my hairs naturally lay
and I'm replicating that. However if you want to create a more laminated brow
look which is more fluffy and standing upright I have a tutorial
on how to achieve that which I will link on screen for you now.
I'm using the shade Taupe which isn't super standout compared to my natural
brow colour. I do love the cool cookie shade by Urban
Decay however this kind of taupey shade does tend to go quite nicely
with my hair because I do have my root lifted slightly which gives a little bit
more of a warm finish. So although this doesn't entirely match
my natural brow colour it does tie in with my hair colour
and because it is slightly light and it's not too standout
you do need to go over this a few times to really get the colour to look
obvious. You might be wondering why I don't just go over slightly darker shade
it's because I still want my brows to look
super natural from a distance. I don't want them to look too obvious or too
intense on my face. So if you are the same as me then you
want to opt for something very similar to your natural colour. If
you are more mature and your eyebrows are going white or
you're starting to get a lot of grey tones through your brows and you find
that these pens are too intense then I would definitely give the Suku
pens a try. I will link them down below for you. They
come in a moss green shade which sounds absolutely
terrifying but it just absolutely works. It doesn't
look green once it's on the skin. Now the moss green one is if you've
still got brown in your hair and then they do one that's specifically
for grey. I think it used to be called grey and it used to be called moss green
but I think they've got different numbers now
and I believe they've extended the shade range to four rather than two
but again great if you are somebody that really wants a supernatural brow
anyone can use them but they are specifically great for that.
I should mention being this close up with the line work
you know mimicking the hairs they do tend to look quite blocky but from a
distance they're so so soft and so natural and don't
forget you can also comb over this to really soften the lines
using a spoolie. So I'm just finishing off with
some of my favourite brow setter by Benefit Cosmetics
in clear. This is a 24 hour brow setter and once I've set this in place
the lift and snatch lasts all day until I take it off.
I think it's brilliant for the money I really do. As you can see with little to
no effort you can really achieve a lovely fluffy brow.
I personally would still reach for my brow blade or my MAC shape and shade
brow tint just because I find they don't seem to
run out of ink so quickly but I'm mega impressed with the tiny tip that
they've created and the price point. So I hope you found
that useful I will list and link all the products I've mentioned
in the description bar below for you. Don't forget to subscribe if you are new
to my channel and don't forget to come follow me outside of YouTube

next week. Bye!
