Hey riders, Eric with Ride Adventures here and another video reminding you that we make it easy
for you to travel the world by motorcycle and adventure 4x4 truck by having the vehicle you
want to ride already waiting for you in the country you want to ride it in. So the trip package I want
to talk about here today is what we call our Essential Columbia Motorcycle Adventure Tour.
It is a country that is still completely misunderstood and somewhat unknown in the
world of travel. Yes, there was a time that this was a dangerous place that you wouldn't want to
go to but you've paid attention to what we are doing and our customers and the testimonials that
you see. We've had over 10 years now of traveling in this country. The country is a rising star in
the world of tourism so be sure to not let the stories of the past deter you from experience in
this beautiful place. This itinerary is jam-packed full of highlights so we take you out of Cali up
into the Andes Mountains right away and you're on through tiny little dirt road villages and
backcountry roads twisties and sweepers on beautiful paved situations constantly in valleys
you're surrounded by the Andes Mountains all the time and including those valley settings is the
heart of coffee country there in Columbia. The town of Salento right there in the Cucora Valley.
You get to ride amongst the wax palm the tallest palm trees in the world and do a coffee plantation
tour and actually see an actual roasting operation and where all this beverage comes from. So if you
want more details on the itinerary and the long list of highlights we'll have a link in the
description below that you can check out. The possible trip formats for this tour are either
guided part of a guided group tour for which we have specific to departure dates or you can do
this one self-guided if you want just a turnkey operation where you fly in the motorcycle is
waiting for you all the papers and insurance and all the hotels and a roadbook to follow
all lined up and waiting for you you can have that this is a great trip also for private groups it
doesn't have to be a publicly available guided group you can choose your own date bring your
friends we'll have a blast showing you around this beautiful country. The seasonality of riding
the trip like this in Columbia is perfect because it's year-round it's available you've got fairly
consistent weather so close to the equator like this and while there's a bunch of microclimates
possible on one side of the mountain pass or the other it's generally warm and comfortable
high altitude moments can get down into the 50s fahrenheit and be a little bit chilly so come
dressed for that of course there's always a chance for a rain in an environment like this but
really overall very nice weather especially for those of you looking for a wintertime getaway
come on to Columbia and you'll find generally comfortable weather that being said keep in
mind that those winter months very popular and book out first for us. The terrain types you're
going to encounter I sort of already alluded to on this specific route you're about 35%
off pavement at this point and the balance being on pavement and that off pavement riding
you know we've designated this as a level four tour according to our difficulty grading scale
the majority of the off pavement sections are really just hard packed gravel and dirt and
might get to be a little bit of a mud depending on rain and things like that mud slides yes are
possible that is something that happens in Columbia we know how to be careful with those
situations and get around them if the situation does come up the pavement is generally very good
smooth paved twisties well-conditioned roads very few potholes and things like that so the riding is
varied I guess that's one way to think about it too is that you're on any given day you're bouncing
back and forth between pavement and dirt multiple times throughout the day and that's part of what
makes this such a fun and exciting ride to do. Riders should not come on this trip if they've
never ridden off pavement before you should have some experience in the dirt and the gravel
knowing how to deal with rocks and some ruts and things like that washouts and rains can create
ruts and and it can be changing a lot you don't need to be an expert to handle a trip like this
the pavement of course is a lot of switchbacks and twisties through these tight valley mountainous
settings and whatnot but just don't be a novice rider showing up to this be ready to handle
constantly changing altitude and and terrain and that's basically where you need to be at as far as
you know riding background before safely accomplishing a trip like this.
So we're so happy to present to you this opportunity to ride in Columbia a country that
absolutely was a place we wouldn't have wanted to travel in some time ago the stories of the
cartel that you might still see in the news so rare and so far pressed back it is not a concern
we've been doing this for over 10 years other riders and travelers have over the last 20 years
since presidential changes have been moving into this country and discovering even the local people
themselves are getting out the past 20 years and getting this chance to see how beautiful their
country is it's really spectacular you have some of the happiest friendliest nicest most welcoming
people in the world they're very enthusiastic about motorcycle riding in fact there are a
couple of toll booths we actually do come across on this trip when motorcycles actually have their
own specific lane where you don't pay a toll you just pass on through while cars have to wait so
very moto enthusiastic here in a great country in a beautiful part of the world you will never
forget it or regret it if you want to check it out and see about dates available click the dates
