Today I am going to make some of this wonderful red tea. I started drinking
this about four years ago and I absolutely love it as a replacement to
black tea or green tea. It's not acidic at all and I'll include some information
at the end of this video so that you can be more informed about this tea as
well. It has a wonderful flavor, it's rich in antioxidants, a lot of good things. It's
also caffeine-free. Now I'm from the South, Southeastern U.S. and so
here we drink our tea iced and sweet. We always have sweet iced tea. So I'm going to go
ahead and add one quart of filtered water to my pot here. I'm going to make one quart of
iced tea. In one bag, one box of this, when you order it from this particular
company called Strand, they're out of Oregon, you'll get, if you order it in the
tea in the bags, you'll get 20 bags per box. I think it's like $3.50 a box and so
I'm going to use four of these bags. You can also order it loose leaf teas but
since I make this iced tea like this, this is much easier for me. So what I
want to do is I want to wait till the water starts boiling and then I'm going
to add my tea bags. I'll go ahead and cover my pot to get it boiling quicker.
Okay, so now that my water is boiling, I'm going to go ahead and add my tea bags.
I'm going to remove it from the heat and cover it and let it steep for about 10
minutes. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and get my tea. It's been steeping for 10
minutes. I always cover it when I steep my tea. Okay, so I'm going to remove my tea
bags. Squeeze out any remaining tea that's in there. I never really measure
my honey but I always try to use sourwood honey. It is so good and has a
wonderful flavor. Okay, so I'm gonna go ahead and add about three tablespoons of
honey to the hot tea. I always add it when it's hot because it is so much
better. That way it, you know, dissolves better into the tea. So that's the way I
like it. When I was growing up, we always had iced tea. I cannot ever remember not
having iced tea in the refrigerator and of course that was black tea and we
would sweeten it with just regular white sugar, cane sugar. So this is my
version I like to have once in a while. I like to enjoy tea this way. I'll give
it a good stir. I want to make sure all this is, all the honey's dissolved in
there and it's not all sticking to the bottom of the pan or anything. Okay, and I'm
gonna pour it into my mason jar. Okay, I'll leave the top off for now until it
cools down and then I'm gonna make a big glass of iced tea. Okay, now it's time to
make myself a glass of iced tea and I make my ice the old-fashioned way in a
little ice tray just because I like to use filtered water to make my ice. So
anyway, let's do some ice in here. My tea it's cooled off nice now and I'm gonna
put a slice of clementine on the side. All righty.
