Weekly VLOG I Family and Work Beach Trip = Work/Life Balance

Hello, hello, hello everybody. Welcome back to another vlog. I hope you're having an excellent day today. Happy Monday. So I'm almost done with my work day. It is 2.22 right now. I have one more call that I need to attend and then I need to head over to Enterprise to pick up a rental car because we're going to the beach. We're going to the beach. Well, so we're traveling down to Orange Beach. For me, it is a work trip. I have a conference that is taking place down there and I decided to just bring my family with me. I've already talked to Harlan's teacher. I talked to her principal to make sure that it was okay for her to be out these next few days and they said it was fine. Her teacher already sent me all of the work that they're going to be doing in the class. Next week, so she'll be able to turn that in once she returns back to school the following week which I'm so grateful for because I'm a stickler with kids going to school and doing their work. And Harlan, like this is her first year getting real grades so I definitely didn't want that to count against her in any way. But anyway, I'm excited. The kids have no idea that we're going to the beach which makes it all the more exciting. So I'm excited. So we'll be leaving tomorrow, Tuesday and then we'll be headed back on Friday. So even though it is a work conference, I still will have time to spend time with the family and do some things with them. But most of the time it'll be, you know, with the kids, relaxing. I'm pretty sure they'll have a good time either way. And he'll find something to do with the kids in the meantime. But anyway, I have not packed anything. I haven't went to the grocery store to get like our road trip snacks. I haven't done anything because I really haven't had time to do anything. It's Monday. Mondays are always hectic with emails and meetings. So I've just been sitting here doing work all day really. So once this 2.30 meeting is over, I'm going to get my sister in love, Ashley to take me to pick up the rental car. And then from there, I'll probably go to probably Walmart. I don't know. Yeah, I'll probably go to Walmart to pick up just some little knickknack stuff that we can use for the trip. And then I need to come home and pack. So yeah, I just wanted to jump in and start the vlog and tell y'all, hey, so welcome to the weekly vlog. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. I hope everyone is having an awesome day today. Wait, something's in my eye. Yes, good evening. Good evening. It is 3.28 in the afternoon. Well, it's not evening yet. It's still afternoon. It is 3.28 in the afternoon. So we are headed out. I kind of wanted to use this big bag and transfer the car. Sorry for that. So happy Tuesday. We are ready to head out. We are going to Orange Beach for my work conference. I'm excited. Carlin, are you excited? Anywho, we're going to get there a little bit later than we expected. We should get there around about 8, 8.15, 8.30. We planned on leaving at 12 o'clock, but apparently that didn't work out for us. So yeah, we're on the road now. Kadir, are you excited? Of course, we had to stop by Chick-fil-A to get something to eat before we hit the road. It's something that we always typically do, whether it's breakfast, lunch, whatever. Stop by Chick-fil-A before we hit it. So we've done that. Corbin's back there knocked out. I partially think the reason why we're leaving a little bit later is because we had a late night last night. So Kadir's dad and his sisters decided to come over and we had dinner. We had habaneros and then Monique wanted to cook this whole separate meal for her weekly meal prep over at the house. So we did that and then of course we did karaoke. The kids were watching movies, running around. It was a lot going on. Cobalt, that new ninja slushie machine. So we had to play around with that and we had us a good old time. But they didn't leave until about one o'clock this morning. So that's probably what has added to our very, very slow morning. Like I said, we're getting on the road now. So see y'all when we get there. I think these are Devin's glasses that I have on. She left them at my house. They've been in my house for about a good month now. So I hope she don't think she's getting them back. So I don't think she wants them anymore. They look pretty cute on me. Thank you. Okay. I think I got it from PLT. Pretty little thing. And then I just threw this... Uh-huh. And then I just threw this cardigan over it. And I have all my little slides. So a little sink. Got a little sink. Bathroom. It's cute in here. It's very small, but it's cute. Safe. Coffee nook refrigerator. Oh, it comes out. Look. This is actually a pretty big refrigerator. It's nice too. So what'd you think about it, Kadira? Is it up to your standards, Kadira? I mean, I can deal with what I have to deal with. He's so extra. It's good. No extra. No bullshit. They're popping fireworks. But we can't see them. We can't see them. We can only hear them. They're not impressed. If they have them tomorrow night, we'll have to just go outside and look at them that way. Yeah, happy Wednesday. So this is the first day. Hello, everybody. Y'all can do some workouts. Kadira told them that they were going to go and work out, but they probably won't have time to go work out. They're about to go get some breakfast, and I'm about to go downstairs to the conference. It starts at 8.30. It's 8.15 now. So I want to make my way down, but I wanted to give you guys a quick OOTD. So I got this blazer from Target. My necklace is from... I want to say my necklace is from Target. I got these tights. These pants are from Zara, and then I have my just my mules on, which are from Target as well. So this is the fit, and I have my earrings. Where did I get these earrings from? I don't know. They're so old. I can't remember, but this is the fit for today. Comfortable, professional, but still cute. So yeah, we're ready to go. Good morning. This is day two of the conference. Last night, they had a 70s party. It was a lot of fun. I dressed up just a tad bit. I hate I didn't show y'all, but it was a good time. So today is not a full conference day. We should end around noon, hopefully a little bit earlier. So we need to find something to do afterwards. I really want to go to the outlets just to see what we can find, you know. But other than that, I don't know what we're going to do. As a group, we were supposed to do deep sea fishing, but because of the heavy winds, they canceled it. I mean, I wasn't going deep sea fishing, but I think Kadero was probably considering it. So I think now they're going to go play golf, which Kadero loves golf, but he doesn't want to play golf if he doesn't have his own golf clubs, you know. So yeah, we're just going to find something else to do for the rest of the day. And then tomorrow, Friday, I have I think one meeting early that morning, and then we'll just head back. So yes, yes, yes. I will catch y'all once we're done with the meetings today. So I'm talking low because Kadero's on the phone right now. We're headed down to the beach. I looked at the temperature. It said it was 65 degrees. 65. We're headed down to the beach. If we determine that it's too cold, we're just going to go to the jacuzzi. Oh, is that a fireplace? So it is still quite chilly out here, but since we're sitting directly in the sun, it makes it feel a whole lot better. At least that nap was. I can definitely take me a nap right about now.
