hi guys hi everyone are we live are we up and going hi everyone welcome to my very first live stream on uh Gemma Stafford bigger Boulder baking nice isn't that nice welcome welcome I'm excited because you're so we just live streamed on Jen's Channel obviously Jen from cookies cupcakes and cardio we live streamed over on Jen's Channel and we did um Gemma was a guinea pig and she tasted Canadian food pretty much it should be the title of the video so um over here we decided to do some Irish slang we've already done two Facebook live streams and we've um done Jen's live stream on YouTube and now we're doing my live stream so thank you very much for everybody for tuning in if you came over from Jen's Channel thank you and all of my h b Bakers out there thank you so much for tuning in because I've never done this before yay it's fun all my videos you know are uh produced by my husband Kevin and uh they take a lot more time than this so this is pretty this is a lot less work it is it's kind of fun and it's more relaxed you guys get to see like our personality a little bit more um more than are if we're instructing and teaching yeah like see what such great people we are exactly we're fabulous and modest so actually just in case you're wondering where I am right now is Jen has is here in Los Angeles because she's from Canada and uh I'm over at her place and that's why we're live streaming over here how are we doing are we doing good we're doing good I'm just reading question yeah so is oh Jan's kitchen not mine I didn't get a new house and if the video did not start for you nice they were Grand but um mine my but mine are yummy it's feel like what you know from your childhood right like everything is so much better from when you were a kid that's what I bought Jen I bought her um digestive biscuits Jammy Dodgers what else did I bring jaff cakes Jaffa Cakes T Irish crisps and a whole lot of Irish going on here today and so they were delicious okay Jen you were also very good I'm kind of nervous about this slide you should be okay so in Ireland our first language is English it just doesn't always sound that way so I have put together a deck of words for Jen and we are going to see um if she can translate them into uh English even though they are English words they don't sound English and I'm going to show them to you first so you can guess out there what they are and then we'll have Jen try and guess tell me the answer in the comments we're going yeah so it's going to be really really fun I believe I'm going to you're going to have to trust me that these are all real Irish words now I'm going to I'm starting out with some good ones okay you ready mhm oh you're going to be able to see this okay I I'm going to do it okay you ready so right here we have Spud Spud potato yeah good job I'm starting out with easy ones these are easy oh I was like well I was nervous about nothing okay okay Shenanigans like up to no good fooling around um different we are doing some Irish slang here Irish slang with Jen uh this word is knickers underwear your knickers what is it get your gunch get your gunch that's a Canadian thing nickers are why do we all have slang for underwear I don't know and it's it's so funny like I remember oh my gosh knickers it's such a funny word when you think about it but it makes sense when your mommy is just like putting out your clothes and there's your T-shirt and there's your knickers and you're like okay yeah nickers isn't as cute when you're uh when you're when you're over 10 say middleaged um okay our next word this is this is when we're going to start to get hard and really test oh God anybody if anybody I'm going to try and look at the screen but if any of you are Irish out there um try and help try and help Jen this one is cha cha okay like c h a CH ha a is it like Canadian a I'm going to use it in a sentence cha no I'm gonna use it in a sentence okay I'm having a cup of CHA tea yeah chai like just tea tea just cha why cha tea I don't know I don't know why I don't know why we do half the things we do that's not the part of this I like the philosophical reasoning for the cha because we do that's why rashers rashers yeah it's a food okay rice no rashers I'll show it to you there no don't look at the back though oh no I didn't see it rashers rashers potato no I already said potatoes radishes no no it's it's a bacon bacon yeah bacon bacon yeah so bacon it's the same it's just different it's it's cuz ham and pork and those weren't enough we had to add another one in I don't know why we call them rashers so You' say I'm having my eggs and rashers yeah I'm having a fry with sausage egg and rashers oh that's cool y b and mash bangers and rash and rashers bangers and mash and rashers okay I got it okay I hope I are any Irish people getting these I'm sure they all know bacon yeah cha is M you guys know I thought it was cha no it's cha so the word is cha I'm having a cup of CHA we're funny thank you oh that's nice in Portugal they use cha for tea as well oh really bacon slices everybody knew that was bacon I no idea Beth you're with with me you had no idea either okay hello guys thank you so much I thought radish too but no we were WR maybe I'm going to I'm try going to pronounce them a little bit clearer for for anybody who's just tuning into our live stream thank you very very like M and then we' say m yeah like that's M okay got it um I don't know what nobody knows anything I hope glad you're good Mankey equals gross yeah J can you speak some Irish oh my gosh my Irish is H is um not very good I should have pra I actually should have probably practiced some Irish you you sound Irish to me oh thanks Okie doie our next one is this the next one is a good one and this is definitely like you wouldn't you'd kind of have to be Irish to know what it means every time you start telling me I get very confused and or very concerned okay ready yeah I I'll use everything in a sentence just like they do a spelling be Hol yours okay I'll show you the words there you go Hol your okay okay and um my producer telling me there's something under my eye thank you producer Kevin it's my husband he's got to make sure he's got to make sure I look good um holers holers okay go what's my what's my S could you please use that in a sentence I'm going on my h your holiday yeah I'm ground I'm Grand everything's ground then you're like wa she's good okay so it's like yeah I'm fine I I'm fine exactly a funny little coincidence today uh josei just made uh one of Jen's gma's buttercream frosting are you serious it's like a collab in real life with our recipes oh my God was the frosting what made the cake hey I was congratulating somebody for combining the two of us together andely what did she make you are talking smack that was true I could I didn't have to do that she it would be nice if actually you know it would be great just in general on YouTube you could share photos so hopefully we're getting there at one point but then we could see the cake then we could see the cake you can send it to our Instagram if you # Cupcakes and Cardio I search that that hash um you you hash bigger Boulder Bing bigger Boulder baking but I also accept them on my I people submit photos on my website like they look really really good so you can do that okay you ready what if it looks really bad will you still put it up of course I will because it's like you're their mother it's like nothing there always all your children are beautiful except the ones that aren't they don't look bad they don't bad exactly they all look great yeah you guys have we have talented fans mhm the most talented okay you ready I'm going to start doing this uh on probably given out tired like you're tired you want to sit down um no no if I were to give out like there go there goes like there is Gemma giv out you've had a hard day and you just no it's like I'm I'm I'm complaining I'm like school I'm I'm complaining about something exactly whining yeah why are you going to start whining well no it's just I get I know when I get sleepy or sleepy or hungry or lots of other things it's um a little not quite rude but like on the element of almost that rude yeah pretty much it's like the cheek of you like the cheek of you that's what you'd say the cheek of you and then that's because you're being like bold or rude okay yeah so yeah in Canada we say cheeky yeah something like that I never heard as a child you probably invented it okay you ready for this one yes clasher I was looking these up and I said to Kevin are these Irish words or they not everybody's words because but then because I forget you know like it's I've been I've been in America and I forget what are my words and what everybody else's words but it's funny it's like you think everybody says these says these things so here's a good one what's this one I'm gonna give I'm gonna give Jen this is a bonus question does this come from the audience no from Kevin oh Kevin just submitted something I'm going to save that to the end Kevin submitted one I'm going to get rid of this one um what you got baking War what would what would that look like that would look awesome great idea I'm quite compassionate of she is if you watched the live stream yesterday Alisa's son Oliver was playing in an Oreo challenge and who tries to take out the four-year-old excuse me he's five oh pardon me and he was not helping me one bit he shouldn't have you should have been helping him I asked him very nicely tell me the answers and he's like no you have to do it by yourself I so what what do you guys want as a baking War let tell us what do you think you should what do you think we should do and also cuz I didn't tell you this before we went live these comments disappear oh do they really yes so you unlike Facebook you can't go back in and like comment afterwards but you have about 10 minutes where it stays live okay well we'll try and do that I didn't know that that's a shame so if you have a really good idea and you're watching this after the fact and it's no longer we're going try catch it really fast then put it into the comments afterwards quick question about you two and what you can share so where are you from in Ireland and Canada respectively I am from Wexford in Ireland in southeast Ireland Southeast are you on the coast yeah okay um I'm from the West Side the west side of Canada and called British Columbia it's about 10 hours from Vancouver lots of people know where that is um and about 5 hours south of Calgary which hosts the Calgary Stampede every year oh well Wexford hop hosts the Opera festival and we also have a very famous Beach that Saving Private R was filmed on so face Canada to [Laughter] sh see competitive we're we're here together working and having a good time and someone is trying to Trum Canada over Ireland due to Saving Private Ryan can we all just take a moment and appreciate that Saving Private Ryan was a very good movie about a very sad subject it was filmed in Ireland I can't help well Canada Hollywood actually um Canada Hollywood yes Vancouver is called out Hollywoods Canada of the north oh fancy that is very fancy well you know what I meant to say it was Canada Hollywood of the north that's what I meant to say so there's actually Kevin we are having a competition there's a viewer who has a question who that is Kevin which is from the south and so she has a term a southern term which is cut the lights what does cut the lights mean turn the lights off time to go home turn it sh shut up is that what it is tell us to shut up I hope they tell us to shut up was that you Beth was probably Beth I don't know cut that's child act in the maggot what say that again act in the maggot act in the maggot yeah so a maggot feeds on dead things so act in the maggot so if you don't do it right you're going to get in trouble everything and I don't don't mean like just maybe rude like our SS was rude really rude so it didn't make the cost brownie cheesecake for the baking War R cheesecake okay oh that's a good one we can both make judges yeah they will yeah you could judge they could judge us well we have to bring them they'd have to taste it no but these these people they are like the audience can be the judge yeah I one and you see Irish people right so I did this test with my Irish friend you just know who they're talking about yeah like if I'm wrong now like let me know what you like if any of you are Irish out there but do they see that you're one yeah they're saying it your mom that's my guess too a woman so and I only picked up on that your man last night actually cuz I was like who is her man what man is she talking about not talking to Kevin that's the thing they're like who's your man I'm not your man who's your man and they get like really a little bit flustered but it's like your man or your one it's it's nobody here's the thing it's it's every it's nobody and it's everybody and anybody like that's the thing it applies but then when I say to you you remember your man we were talking to and you'd be like then you're like no I don't and then you do you do you're man and you'd be like oh I do I do know you're man be like that guy remember that guy yeah you just get us you always know okay okay you ready for this one yeah we're getting close to the end now everybody stay with us we're almost there this is a good one I tried it on Kevin earlier do you remember Kevin wished wished wished ever live stream um we are live streaming on both my channel right here and then Jen's Channel where we tasted some Canadian food and we also did Facebook live earlier to that too which you can find on both of our Facebook channels as well we did Canadian slime and we did Irish food so we are hitting up every platform today trying see how many people that we can um make uh make Converse okay okay I got a few more for you you ready for these yeah I don't like the way my face is all pixelated over there Jen this is a good one one right so this is probably the mother of all Irish sayings okay crack I was going to say Cy crack crack what's the crack I have absolutely no idea give it to me in a sentence what's the crack Jen or any crack anything new anything up how are you that's good what you know what those all of those things yeah like all of those things it applies to like Annie crack like what's going on um what's the crack with you like all those things it applies like it it means fun it means how are you like it means everything okay awesome but I've got some more for you I'm not finish it what about what's the crack what's the crack some we just got that in another one in Irish is H konale which means what's the story there's your Irish yeah there's your Irish there you go that's what you get okay I've got I've got now I wanted I wanted to clear something up you might have some Canadian ones like this but um I do to round to round this up I thought that I would um share with you Three Irish three things that Irish people do not say I'm going to can I guess one sure top of the morning to you we do not say top of the morning to you the only time I would say top of the morning to you I'd be like hey person I do not say top of the morning to you only time I would say that okay can I ask another one what about leprechauns do they really exist in Ireland under a rainbow with a PO there are no there are there are rainbows but there are no leprechauns where did you know where that comes from from no I don't actually somebody told me at one point I forgot there is a there's a story behind it I just don't know it's definitely not like Irish folklore it's not like a big like maybe Kevin will Google it for us Hallmark it came from Hallmark are you serious just like everything did oh oh Kevin he always does that Santa Claus is from Coca-Cola so it could be our like little Leprechaun Santa is real so stop saying those things okay I've got one more okay you ready I got two more another thing we don't say Jen yeah to be sure to be sure we do not say these things to be sure to be sure so people think Irish people say to be sure to be sure all the time I've never everybody always says to us you say to be sure to be sure we do not say to be sure to be sure and lastly I do not know where your Lucky Charms are nor do I care where your Lucky Charms are people genuinely say do not have Lucky Charms in Ireland they are very much an American do you have them Canada we we do not have Lucky Charms in Ireland and um and we do not have leprechauns and we do not have little leprechaun running around asking where your Lucky Charms are that is awesome yeah so in Canada we also we do not say oot and a boot people think that we say that we're going out and about we there's different dialects throughout Canada as I'm sure there are in Ireland like Canada is quite big so from east coast to West Coast there are different ways that people say things but in my experience of living in Canada my entire life no one has ever said oot and ab boot to me at any time we do not live in englo no and we do not have ride moose a that' be fun yes nor are we all Eskimos just covering that all off those are very important facts not about Canada where can we find all those things that sounds like a great place I know exactly o and a boot with Eskimos and Moes and what's is there any other ones that we don't say F can't think of them I can't think you do say a to be fair no I say a all the time I'm extremely guilty of that a yeah to be sure to be sure okay um thank you for being part of our experiment everybody uh any more have you see any questions coming up doing a cookie cake with a no we're not oh we are doing a coincidence and we're doing do you know what we're doing we're doing um another mug meals video we're doing it this Thursday sweet can you say what they are I can five three three uh breakfast oh sweet and one of actually you know what I'm going to tell you now because it's really really awesome I showed it on Snapchat um my Snapchat is JMA staffers Jen what's your Snapchat um cupcakes and cardio maybe we can put the links in there Kevin and um we so we did a a mug Rito and burrito in a mug nice it was so delicious and the best thing about it is the um tortilla crisps up in the mug when you he in the microwave so you can take the whole thing out in and it is one burrito absolutely delicious loved it so there is a a mugo there is a um another cinnamon roll and there's like other stuff it's really really good delicious and then just to let you know we filmed a uh we had a huge request for um an episode with waffles in it so waffles is coming to a screen near you in two weeks and don't give it away and man it's hilarious give it away it was really good I got to meet waffles and he's wonderful yes it's wonderful so there's a big request for Gemma and Jen to go on a stage in Dublin and have a bake off like that specific is that person going to fly us over to Ireland maybe maybe why do you know that we'll go anywhere you fly us right can we'll go anywhere if the price is right no but that's something that I would totally just fly over there to do I think that's amazing yeah that'd be so fun yeah that would okay we need to plan something and if you guys if if you don't hear from Gemini planning this you need to make sure you check in on both of us to make sure that we're planning this Jen's all Jen's social
