67 yesterday he got himself into a share of second. He was hoping to start the day well and
got himself in a great position there. Also played in the Aus Open last week which he said
was a fantastic learning experience and he takes plenty of out of that into today.
They need to settle a bit of a backstop as we look at
Lachie here taking second shot on trying to get into that middle section and that's a fabulous
shot. As you did say Nick this is more accessible this pin today than most days.
While we wait for them young Victorian who's also coached by someone pretty handy his father
Dennis McDade had a couple of good players in his time. He's had a lot of good players.
What a great shot. Picking with a third shot here. Anthony Quayle after a birdie on four.
This would be a good story. Come back from a seven shot penalty to win a golf tournament
and that is an absolute gem. Beautifully played. Just took the front slope out of play. Had a
couple of options. Could run it up there or bound any further than what it did. He's actually got a
reasonably standard chip. The ball's below his feet but he's got a good line. Land it short of
the green. Kick it up. Brilliantly executed right there. Giant pickin. He made that look a lot easier
than it actually was. Five eight for the Melbourne Storm as we go ahead to Anthony Quayle. Third shot
at the sixth. Beautifully played. And just a brute of a par four today.
Just caught the top of that ridge unfortunately. Got to love to see with these players. Back into
the wind. We'll come back to that in a moment. Becker just from over the back edge. Oh beautiful
touch. Into the wind on these tee shots. As I said crazy how much speed these two are able to put on
Certainly stayed through it. Just a little further right than he would have liked.
Oh nicely done. Gets over that front ridge. Now over to Anthony Quayle. His second shot at eight.
And he would have got a great read off his good mate Corey Crawford. He can go straight at this
and he certainly has. Wow. 28 back and three from the left. So it's back in the back quadrant of
this green. Back on this tour and getting himself up that order of merit. As we watch
Brayden Becker. He gets it over the top of that. He's actually in a good spot there. Giant pick in
here. His second shot on the eighth. 132. Needing to aim a little shy of this flag. As he jumps
that up there. It's a nice shot after hitting driving line off that tee. Go ahead to Anthony
Quayle. His ball made it all the way down to here. It's going to be a long slow putt this one.
Should move from his left to right. Keep going. And McCumber we can't quite see him but this will
be his second shot out of the fairway trap on nine. Good angle. Oh that is a gem. He could not see a
thing. This golf course would be totally different to what he's used
used to in Florida. That's for sure. You know he's played 60. Great shot from Becker here.
This on the 10th. Oh 385 meters long. His pin is 17 back and five from the left.
As you can see just funneling down there. That's a that's like a different quadrant of the green.
Strike is very important here. Has to land this short. Beautifully done.
Played it to perfection. Leaving himself a tricky one left for par.
So will Anthony Quayle. Got a few too many bounces going up that slope.
Gia and Jonah hammernegging it pretty nicely. They're still obviously well in it.
This is going to get really quick here. Oh well if that had gone in we would have called it the
Ryan Lynch effect. It needs to go. He's asking for it to settle. Perfectly judged. Becker taking the
higher option. He can't believe he left it short. Now Quayle earlier bounced it up that hill. Now
this is the man we just mentioned and oh no that looked a little heavy and
the thing about where that pin is today on 12. Something right as we take a look at
Crawford over on 12. He's trying to use the back slope that I just mentioned
and is it feeding all the way back? It is. Oh hello. Go on. Keep. Oh my goodness.
Now that is imagination. All right Macumba did miss that fairway bunker. Now he's just
short of the 12th green. All these players are getting really close and
play it long. Use the slope and let it come back. No. The other way. The old-fashioned way.
It is still coming back. Oh yeah. Well done. Beautiful shot. Anthony Quayle second. Third shot.
That's 13. Hearing you found the bunker off the tee. It's an excellent third but
he may have the longest putt on the golf course because the pin today is if we pan. Keep panning.
Keep panning. There it is. Oh geez. Just saw the ball come out of Anthony Quayle from the
fairway bunker there on 15. He's playing with Crawford. He's on the same score and oh that's
a members bounce if I've ever seen one. Thank you very much. Excellent shot in there.
Oh what a putt there from Crawford. What a three on the 16th today. Playing so tough and
he finds himself at the top of the leaderboard. Thank you very much. Anthony Quayle has to
finish. At least Birdie Eagle to put some pressure on him. He'll take dead aim at this from 156.
Looks good. Oh that's a great tee shot right there.
Getting better. Pink balance that's for sure. A lot lower ball flight. This one looks really
good if it's enough. Oh sure is. Pin seeking. That will definitely help.
This one. Bulleting low straight at the flag if it's enough again.
He's been lighting the ball. That's going to come through the breeze.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It's just going to get better and better. Keep going. How are those two shots?
Just okay. Nothing left of this pin. That was a brave shot from Macumba.
Anthony Quayle he'd love one more right here. Just needs it to go in to perfection.
Oh yes sir. Unbelievable from Corey Crawford. A birdie to finish his day. A round of 68.
Good. Did that look halfway up there and he was thinking he made it too.
Oh my goodness. He was putting through his shadow there.
Unbelievable finish. Wow. Macumba misses that putt to finish on a 70 and handing the title.
It's Jason Hong who didn't find the gaps between the fairway bunkers here. He's playing his third.
It's on a good line. That's a great looking line. Needs a bounce and he gets it. Oh yeah.
Wonderful shot. Fantastic shot from young Sydney Sider.
