Fan Zhendong (CHN) vs Alexis Lebrun (FRA) | MT Final - Match 2 | #ITTFWorlds2024

A sample size is small, but you'll still be impressed with it. They could take on China, and they almost did. Well, he's starting to look a bit more vulnerable. Catches the edge, makes it even trickier to calibrate a shot against. He does with the serves here, Alexey. Fang Zhendong, 9-8 up though still, here he is. Great push, but misses his counter, the world number one. Something might be on. Can he take this against Fang Zhendong? That's a very good point. He has taken the first game. Massive fear. And they never really looked back. That was that from Fang. His class here, Alexey Lebrun, here he comes with his lollipop. Backlash perhaps we're seeing now from Fang Zhendong. You need to be careful. 8-4 he was in that last game, and still lost. He's fairing it, isn't he? Alexey Lebrun trying to go fast. This is determination about Alexey Lebrun right now. Forcing him to play here. Here he comes with his reverse pendulum into the forehand. Nicely done. But indeed he did play. Goes for the kill, or maybe he didn't. But he reacted so well. Wow. Beastly. From earlier. Fang Zhendong, Alexey Lebrun. That's how he made time to Alexey Lebrun's game. Got him where he wants him, and he kills him off. But also elements of the most aggressive players in Alexey's game. Can he go 2-1 up here? Chop block. Counter. Let's see. He didn't, went into the middle. Great flip. Under the radar a little bit, but very well recently. Different really in that sense. True. Gets him. Top edge off the backhand of Fan. He's lobbing. He was on top of that. Well, there you go. Him not being a bit tense as well. Ritual of the opponent. Right. Really wide serve. Goes for the other side. Fan Zhendong's last loss. Rarer than a rarity. Just one game until today. So much of what we saw yesterday. And he's now caught. Fan Zhendong. Nearly in a hundred year history of this event. Fifth and final. He's not been pushed this much in this tournament. Although he is. Seven of the last eight. Fan Zhendong's way. That's the strength of him. The mental strength. Trying to get back in the face of Fan. Wow. Fantastic match. 13 of the last 16. Fan Zhendong's way. The best match I've seen him play in about 12 months. And he's just. In moments like this. He maybe should have. For Alexei LeBron. Still in. It's not quite done yet. Pushed to the brink here.
