I can hear chickens from over here even.
As you can see behind me right now, this is just an air fryer.
I had a couple people on the channel suggest that I go buy one of these and quit using my
microwave so much. So, Black Fridays, I do a lot of shopping on Black Fridays and so I ordered this,
got a good price on it and I'm gonna give it a try. I'm gonna make myself some chicken wings
tonight for dinner. So, one person in particular, Tony, this is what you told me to get. So,
I get it. I hope it works. When I was young, I didn't know how to cook or anything like that.
I went in the military as soon as I turned 17. I quit high school. I started my junior year,
this first quarter, and so I just quit and I thought it was a good idea at the time and
it was back in the early 70s. Anyway, I did 18 months active and then I did another
six years National Guard, but when I got out of active duty, I didn't know how to cook
and so it was pretty harsh. The first three weeks of the month, I had enough money for food.
The last month or last month, last week of the month, I didn't have any money and so I didn't
know how to cook. So, I bought TV dinners and things like that that you should never
do if you're on a budget like me at the time. So, I didn't like that. So, I kind of taught myself
how to cook and a lot of things you just do. You don't really have to have a recipe.
I don't use a recipe for what I'm doing. I just do it. I put a little onion in it
and I put a potato in it. Of course, a little bit of this was a small cauliflower head.
I'll feed this to the chickens. I don't know what I got squawking over here.
The air fryer over there is squawking at me. That's why I'm kind of wondering if I'm going
to end up moving it and actually even maybe setting it on the stove when I cook.
You got a little bit of smoke, not smoke, you know, the chicken burning stuff. It's like smoke.
You can make soups out of anything. You don't have to. You don't have to
make a certain type. I just do whatever I want to make a potato soup.
This here's cauliflower soup, but I'll put a potato in it
and you can make it as thin as you want or as thick as you want. I always add onions to
everything I do pretty much. It's something I think everybody should know how to do.
You can take and live very really frugally if you learn how to cook your own soups,
cook your own food. I'll let this boil. I'll add a little bit of garlic in it.
I was out today running around with the four-wheeler. I've got a lot of game cameras out.
A lot of the batteries were dead, so I went out and changed the batteries in it and it was cold.
It is cold outside right now. So this has been boiling for a little bit.
It's like these little things, whatever they're called, I really like them. I picked one up
and so what I do is I don't completely, I leave some of them so there's a little bit of chunks
on them. You can season however you want. I can say this is really not a recipe. It's just
I make soup out of everything. You can literally make soup out of just about anything. I wish I
hadn't done this years ago. All my soup's almost done and I figured I'd just take a minute and
tell you a little story happened here. It was the night before last. I let Cole outside. He went out
and I heard him back at the door just almost immediately. Opened the door, he came in,
he's foaming at the mouth, his eyes are shut. He went after a skunk. He got sprayed in the mouth,
right in the face, came in the house. If anybody's got any experience with skunks,
you'll know, yeah I know buddy, you'll know they stink.
It takes a lot to get rid of it and so he's had three baths. I use a hydroperoxide
baking soda and some Dawn soap. You mix that up and then you wash them with it then you rinse
them and then you wait and I wash them and then rinsing. I got most of the smell out. It's just a
little bit now. Had to wash a lot of stuff. The towels I used to dry them out and with that I
just throw them away. I've had skunks before where they've gotten my dogs and yeah my hand
actually if there's petting him, my hand smells. But you think that he would have learned this
lesson? Okay this is like just two days ago. So let him out. I hear this barking like crazy and
I run out and he didn't get sprayed this time but it's just like come on man you gotta learn.
Stay away from those things they get you. Anyway that's uh my life is eventful.
So it took me about a half hour, well 35 minutes to feed my chicken and then my homemade soup.
Yeah I uh that's what I was saying earlier that when I first got out of the military
I had one one week out of the month when I was eating out of a peanut butter jar.
Glad I had it. Just didn't know how to cook and it's so simple. I mean the soup I just made
I just threw broccoli, potatoes, onion, a little garlic, blended a little, boil it,
blend a little bit, add some seasoning and I got soup. Inexpensive. I went into uh
well town's geez hour and a half two hours away but anyway I went into town and um
one of the stores had potatoes on sale and so they were 89 cents for 10 pounds.
That's a really good price. It's this Black Friday stuff and so I picked up 100 pounds.
Spent nine bucks so I can make a lot of potatoes with that. One of the other things I don't show
on my channel is um I freeze dry and so I'll I make up a lot of soups or whatever
with ingredients like that I get on really inexpensive and then I freeze dry them and
then that way I can go eat them whenever I want. It's one way to yeah if you're on a budget it's
one way to save money and so anyway I don't want to talk you to death so I'm gonna go ahead and
Thanks for joining me.
