Okay, we have an exciting video today
because we get to surprise my boyfriend's dad.
Being a pilot is so fun
because you get to do things like this.
We are in Vegas,
and there is a Bengals game in LA right now.
So, and we're in Bengals gear.
I know I'm a Niners fan, you guys know that,
but they are from Ohio, and die hard Bengals.
Who day, baby?
Die hard.
Go to the f***ing game.
So, because of that, his dad's in town visiting,
and his dad is like the biggest Bengals fan ever,
and he also is like really interested in the plane,
and he's never been in it.
So, we are gonna surprise him with the plane
and take him to LA for the Bengals game.
So, let's go.
I'm a Bengals fan today.
They're in different conferences,
so it's okay that I support the Bengals.
Yeah.
North Las Vegas, wind 310 at 8, visibility 1-0,
sky clear, temperature 1-4, dew point minus 5,
altimeter 2-9-9-8.
Niner, Niner.
Speed.
Landing, departing runway 3-0 left, 3-0 right, 2-5.
Wind 310 at 8, visibility 1-0, sky clear,
temperature 1-4, dew point minus 5,
altimeter 2-9-9-8.
Five, clearance delivery,
confined at ground.
All right, information Mike,
we have wind 310 at 8, we're taking off of 3-0.
Got our barometric pressure.
All righty.
Okay, so we have something called a sterile cockpit,
so during taxi takeoff and below 3,000 feet,
just no talking.
Same with landing, that way I can just focus,
and then, yeah, you feel good.
There's a fire extinguisher under your seat
in case of an emergency landing.
I'm gonna have you prop open the door,
that way if we are stuck, we can't get out.
And that's it, you feel comfortable?
Okay.
Baby, you good?
Yes, ma'am.
Okay, let me send my flight plan.
You'll address me as Niner, Niner, though.
Yes, sir.
Spearcheck 572, number two,
follow Cessna 12 o'clock, one mile,
runway 3-0 right, clear to land.
Wind 330 at 6.

All right, you guys.
Checking my brakes, verifying brakes.

to the run-up area via hotel, Bravo.
That first Cessna by the shades.
To the run-up area, hotel, Bravo, 2-2-Bravo.
Yeah, it's busy right now.
Got the one up top and the one on the side.
Yeah, make sure you do both, and it's latched.
Close.
We still got a run-up, though, so.
And we're gonna be vectored,
there's a lot of people right now.
Oh, really, there's a line?
Yeah, you see all these people, they're doing their run-up.
We're gonna go do our run-up now,
but we're gonna be behind all these.
North Las Vegas Ground, Cessna 4-9-4-0,
echo, hold and show the hotel at Bravo.
There, seen that, folk.
With information, Mike, request name,
northwest departure.
It's a Sunday, everybody's headed out, apparently.
That's what I learned to fly on, that little helicopter.
4-9-0-6-1-go, holding short at 3-0-left.
That's a Robinson.
Yeah, that's a 22.
The cheapest Robinson to fly, learned.
All right.
Run it up, baby girl.
Parking brake set, check area, clear,
mixture of rich, fuel pump on, fuel selector,
switching tanks, right tank has 19.
Cherokee 22, Bravo, I have your flight plan, ready to copy?
Ready to copy, 22 Bravo.
Cherokee 22, Bravo, on departure,
flight suggested heading 2-4-0.
Nellis, correction, North Vegas departure frequency
1-2-5-point-9, squawk 5-3-2-5.
Departure heading 2-4-0, over to 2-5-point-9,
and then squawking 4-3-2-5, 22 Bravo.
Cherokee 22, Bravo, squawk 5-3-2-5.
2-5-2-2, Bravo.
Cherokee 22, Bravo, readback correct,
confirm you have information, Mike.
Information, Mike, 22 Bravo.
Fuel pump is off, we're gonna go throttle, 2,000.
You'll be number two behind the diamond star.
Number two behind the diamond star,
freezer right at kilo, 7-9-0-8.
Checking my left mag.
And Cessna, 8-0-4, you're ready to go.
We're ready, 8-0-4.
Back to both, my alternator.
Carb heat on, throttle idle.
Verifying idle.
1,000.
All right, trim set, flaps set,
carb heat off, primers locked,
mags are both windows, closing locks, flight controls.
Aileron up, aileron up, elevator, awesome.
Let's check our circuit breakers.
Our engine gauges have a second,
but that way we can call to tower.
Circuit breakers are in, cabin door is latched.
Okay, seatbelts are all fastened,
maybe your seatbelt is fastened.
Confirmed, okay, nice.
Band-Aid's around Cherokee 22, 22 Bravo, run-up complete.
We are, run-up is complete,
and now we are gonna be taking off.
We have a left downwind departure,
we're in Bravo.
Cherokee 22 Bravo, runway three-zero left,
taxi via Kilo, you'll be number three
behind the Cessna on Bravo, turn on to Kilo right now.
Okay, number three-three-zero left on Kilo, 22 Bravo.
And 22 Bravo, tail number is nine-whiskey-X-ray.
Nine-whiskey-X-ray, I have that Cessna in sight.
All right, so we're number three.
So he's gonna go, he's gonna go, we're gonna go.
We're gonna go to the three-zero run-up area.
Yeah, this is, this is a busy day.
It's the smallest wing number I've ever seen.
Ready to go, five-zero.
Smallest what?
Tail number I've ever seen.
I know, right?
Taxi via Kilo.
It's like nine-whiskey-X-ray on Leica.
Oh, how are they gonna squeeze pass?
I'm not sure.
Okay, guys, so it's a really busy day
in North Vegas right now.
We're number three for takeoff,
we're gonna make a left downwind departure.
We are in Bravo airspace, so it's a bit hectic always.
So we just have to stay super focused.
But I've done this flight a million times.
We are landing in L.A.,
and then we're gonna go to the game.
I'm super excited.
I think we have a tailwind today,
so it should be a quicker flight,
as long as there's not too much turbulence.
There's kind of a lot of turbulence
usually going to L.A. from Vegas,
because of the mountains.
Look at the line.
Oh, my goodness.
And that's following a fake-off line of us.
Banners around Cherokee two-two, two-two Bravo
holding short of three-zero left at Kilo.
Do you want me to transfer over to tower?
Cherokee two-two Bravo,
from hold position contact tower one-two-five-point-seven.
One-two-five-seven.
Thanks so much, two-two Bravo.
Van Nuys Tower, Cherokee two-two, two-two Bravo
holding short of three-zero left at Kilo.
Ready for departure?
Definitely the longest I've ever waited here.
Busy right now.
Yeah, this is crazy.
They're coming in to land.
Let's just watch them.
That's a nice jet.
Good, nice little mid-sized jet.
Yeah, I like that.
Cherokee two-seventy-six, cancel on.
We're in Bravo airspace here,
which is the highest level,
like the most congested.
Cherokee two-two-two Bravo,
Norfolk to East Tower, you call ready?
Ready.
Two-two Bravo.
Cherokee two-two Bravo, runway three-zero left,
clear for takeoff, left turn approved.
Three-zero left, clear for takeoff,
left turn approved, two-two Bravo.
Okay, verifying lights, mixture, flaps.
All right, door is latched.
Entering runway three-zero left.
All righty.
Verifying again, lights, mixture.
Maintenance are in the green.
Cross runway three-zero left at kilo, five-zero Foxtrot.
Waiting for sixty-five.
Five-zero Foxtrot, runway three-zero right,
taxi via delta.
Three-zero right, taxi via delta, five-zero Foxtrot.
Five-zero Foxtrot, thank you,
contact tower on nineteen-fifteen.
Nineteen-fifteen, five-zero Foxtrot.
Heading two-four-zero.
We are heavier right now, so.
Good takeoff, babe.
Thank you, honey.
Heading two-four-zero, left, forward, right.
Buggy, my heading.
Two-four-zero, check.
Two-seventy-seven, Romeo, Lima, North,
Las Vegas Tower, stand by.
Number two-two Bravo, contact Las Vegas Departure.
Las Vegas Departure, two-two Bravo.
Las Vegas Departure, Cherokee two-two, two-two Bravo,

Number two-two-two Bravo, Las Vegas Departure,
I-10, Las Vegas, Altimeter two-nine-nine-seven.
Two-nine-nine-seven, I-10, two-two Bravo.
Two-two-two Bravo, radar contact,
Mount Hathaway, North Las Vegas Airport,
cleared through Bravo airspace,
flight heading west at altitude.
Two-three-zero, and cleared through the Bravo, two-two Bravo.
I'm not used to being this heavy, we're climbing slow.
It's usually just me.
The Lions are beating the Jags, fifty-two to six.
...center on one-three-four-point-six-five.
Monroe has forty against me.
...sixty-five against two...
You're kicking my ass now.
Am I?
Mine's not loading super well.
Cherokee two-two Bravo, requesting a left-heading turn for terrain.
Two-two-two Bravo, flight heading one-nine-zero.
One-nine-zero, two-two Bravo.
That's where we live, right down there.
Yeah, I'm going to take a picture.
That's our house.
...five-ninety, I call the center at the L-sixty...
And you feel that? That's what turbulence is going to feel like,
just little bumps.
Yeah, that's not... I can handle that.
Okay.
We're climbing, about the slowest climb I ever had.
Did eat a lot of pizza last night.
I'm just also used to being just me,
or maybe one other person.
A girl, too.
A girl, yeah.
A lot of times there's a trip, like the mountain wave,
that causes us to have turbulence.
We do have a tailwind, baby.
Yeah.
We'll see, we'll let you know how much and cruise,
but that's going to be great.
It's kind of hot today.
Do you have a temperature gauge on here somewhere?
Yeah, outside in Celsius.
But it's in Celsius, but where we're at right now,
the temperature change is at two degrees,
two degrees Celsius every thousand feet.
So right now we're at 6,000 feet, so...
It's 12 degrees Celsius less, yeah.
Your friend had a Cessna, or what did he have?
I think so, but I wouldn't swear to it.
It was similar in size to this.
It was the one you sent us, right?
The picture? Yeah, Cessna.
222B, if I give you own navigation,
about what heading would you take?
I can take this heading, 22B, 190.
Okay, then 222B, if that's the case,
then resume own navigation and contact approach 125.02.
125.02, remain at 190, thank you so much.
22B.
Be clear there, 22B, I'm not letting you maintain 190.
If you want to do own navigation, you can.
Resume now, 22B, thank you so much.
819, Alpha.
Las Vegas Approach, Cherokee 2222B, 7,000,
climbing 8,500 with you.
November 222B, Las Vegas Approach,
Las Vegas altimeter, 299.6.
299.6, 22B.
All right, guys, so the flight was pretty quick.
We did have a little turbulence,
so I couldn't go crazy fast,
but the turbulence was not bad at all.
And now we are 15 minutes out.
We will be there so soon.
And yeah, then we're gonna go to the game.
We're hopefully gonna get some food before the game.
And there's not a lot of wind in Van Nuys.
I'm gonna get the ATIS soon.
We are 28 miles out.
So let's do it.
Optical tower, light 2.6 miles north-northeast,
Van Nuys, 60 feet above ground level out of service.
Optical crane, 0.5 miles northeast, Van Nuys.
All right, so we have information Bravo.
Wind is at 10 knots, but it is a headwind, which is great.
And we are gonna cross over these mountains
and we will be in Van Nuys.
Cherokee 2222B has information Bravo for Van Nuys.
2222B, contact SoCal, 124.6, safe flight.
246, 22B, SoCal Approach, Cherokee 2222B, 6,500,
inbound full stop, Van Nuys, and information Bravo.
Cherokee 2222B, SoCal Approach,
for bank altimeter 299.1.
299.1, 22B.
Attention, line of crew,
I'm gonna get us to the back of the plane.
There's the airport, you see it?
340 on 129.1.
The big space.
22B, contact approach 120.4.
120.4, 22B.
Skywest 5887, SoCal Approach,
radar contact altimeter 299.1.
SoCal Approach, Cherokee 2222B, 6,500,
with you and information Bravo
for inbound full stop, Van Nuys.
Cherokee 2222B, SoCal Approach,
for bank altimeter 299.1.
299.1, 22B.
Is that LA far off there to the left?
So, yep, that's downtown LA right there.
So we have Burbank Airport,
where there's a gap right there,
then there's Van Nuys Airport right there.
All right, everybody's seatbelts fastened?
Check. Yep.
Okay, guys, we're gonna give it our approach
into Van Nuys.
We have to land on a different runway
than I'm used to, which I don't love, but it's fine.
Okay, so there's gonna be a lot of traffic,
so, and I'm gonna be landing,
so no communicating for a little bit.
Cherokee 2222B, connect Van Nuys Tower, 119.3.
119.3, thank you so much, 22B.
Van Nuys Tower, Cherokee 2222B,
inbound full stop with information Bravo.
N2222B, Van Nuys Tower, fly to the 5 freeway,
continue on your current heading
until intercepting the 5 freeway,
then make right traffic to runway 34R.
Fly current heading until intercepting the freeway,
and then make right traffic for 34R, 22B.
All right, pre-landing checks.
N2222B, contact tower now on 120.2,
begin your descent, please.
120.2, 22B.
Tower 25, Victor-Lehman Warner Center,
with information Bravo.
4 left.
Van Nuys Tower, Cherokee 2222B, with you.
Cherokee 2222B, in charge of that,
intercept the 405 and expedite down to 1,800.
Intercept 405, and then expedite to 1,800.
Okay, pre-landing checks.
N2222B, it's 34R, cleared to land.
34R, cleared to land, 22B.
Perfect, we got our clearance.
Is that where we're landing, to the right?
Yep, on the little runway.
We're gonna flip a bitch up here?
What?
We're gonna flip a bitch up here?
Uh-huh.
Yeah, we gotta land on the small runway.
Smells funky.
Wind check, 22B.
Wind 360 at 11.
It smells funky?
Yeah.
Okay, don't talk to me.
Good turn, baby.
There's a little turbulence.
Wind 340, one zero, gust one eight.
It's windy.
Nice!
For windy, I'm not mad.
2222B, turn left at Foxtrot,
where that's actually disregard.
2222B, just turn right at taxiway Foxtrot,
and remain at frequency.
Right at Foxtrot, and then remain with you, 22B.
Skyhawk 50R, left base for three foot right.
Woo-hoo, it was gusting one eight winds,
which didn't want to tell you guys I was nervous about, but.
222B, wrist me, turn right onto Bravo,
taxi southbound, 22B.
Right on Bravo, taxi southbound, 22B.
508R, three foot right, cleared to land, 80B.
It's like one of those planes that picks up water
and puts it in the mountains.
We made it!
Woo!
Yeah.
Those are big boys, damn.
That's a jet, somebody's jet.
Those are all like.
That's fucking crazy.
Yeah, these are like.
Look at that.
Oh, I thought that was a NASCAR.
Really big jets.
22B, just hold short of taxiway Kilo on Bravo
for landing traffic.
Holding short of Kilo, 22B.
All right, Juliet Kilo.
You know, she turns this with her feet.
On the ground or in the air?
On the ground.
Look at all those cars, damn.
They're waving.
Someone's landing on this runway.
22B, turn right onto Kilo,
hold short of runway 34L.
Right onto Kilo, holding short of 34L, 22B.
No, right here where we just landed.
Oh, I gotcha.
Look at this jet taking off.
Monitor tower, 19-3 for the cross.
They got some big daddies here.
Tower, 119.3, enter Bravo.
All the famous people's planes.
22B, cross runway 34L to Kilo,
then counter ground 0.7.
Crossing 34L to Kilo, then over to ground, 22B.
That's what I want.
Yeah.
That's what we're gonna have.
Buy like a fourth of it,
share it with like three other people.
Cherokee 2222B, Van Nuys Ground,
taxi via Alpha to corner parking.
Alpha to southwest corner, 22B.
Remember, 7Whiskey's here, thank you.
Taxi via Alpha to Jet Aviation.
Keep your taxi speed quick, please.
Alpha to Jet Aviation, we'll keep it quick, 7Whiskey's here.
Get the cars, babe, next to that jet.
Pass the truck, the range, the track.
All pulling up.
Okay, ground, see the Alpha 44?
Alpha 44, Van Nuys Ground.
All right.
Their wing is very high, babe.
We're not gonna hit it.
The plane in front looks lower, that's weird.
430, can pop us southwest.
That one?
Yeah.
Bravo ready, taxi, we can still-
All right, we are done.
430, can pop the Van Nuys Ground.
Woo-hoo, safe and sound.
Good job, all of us.
Yeah, everybody did really good.
You did amazing back there, babe.
Thank you.
It was crazy.
It's sports updates.
Just hit sidewalks here.
We're off to the game, look at Brew back there.
Oh, the baby boy.
Baby boy.
Hootay, baby!
The Niners lost, you guys, it's very sad for me,
but now we still have the Bengals.
Let's go, Bengals.
This has been the craziest game ever.
So this video was the exact reason
I am like obsessed with being a pilot,
just being able to explore,
take the people that I love to do amazing things,
like surprising Vince's dad to go to that game
and meant the world to him.
He texted me later and was like,
that was the best day of my life.
I'm like, made me almost cry.
So we are back safe and sound.
The Bengals did lose.
It was such an intense game,
but we made amazing memories.
So make sure you guys like this video.
It really does help me and leave a nice comment
or subscribe, that would mean so much to me.
I've been loving sharing my aviation journey with you guys.
A lot of you have been so supportive.
Some of you guys are mean,
but a lot of you guys have been really, really supportive
and it means so much to me.
Obviously, I'm still a low time pilot,
but I'm so passionate about this
and I'm so excited to grow in this field.
So join along with me on all the adventures.
