you need to book hotel rooms for your
upcoming wedding your company family
reunion your youth sports team we're
going to talk about what kind of
freebies you can ask for and what to
expect and what not to expect if you
want to know what you need to make the
block make sure you check out the first
video and the first part of this series
and the other videos to get all the
information so that you are successful
when you need to book a block of rooms
at a hotel but today we're going to be
talking about freebies what you can ask
for what you can't ask for what to
expect some specific things that they
will honor some that they won't but this
is generally an overall just information
piece so that you guys can make your
best informed decisions the first thing
that you can absolutely ask for when you
are booking a block of rooms are hotel
rewards points so even if you're booking
a block of rooms for your wedding you
can ask for meeting planner points on
the Block which means you can start
earning some free nights just based on
your overall group now keep in mind
meeting planner points are usually
awarded at a one per one ratio so one
meeting point per dollar this could be
Hilt and honors this could be choice
privileges they don't earn at the same
rate as hotel rooms which are usually
like 10 points per dollar five points
per dollar but hey every little Point
helps another thing that you can ask for
is a complimentary hospitality room in
hotels like Hampton in fairfields
Comfort space there's usually a small
meeting room or two on property where if
you fill up your entire block of rooms
you can ask for complimentary use this
is great for sports teams to keep them
out of the hallway out of those noise
complaints or if you want want a rendevu
after your wedding it is a nice place to
get a bunch of people together and hang
out now keep in mind this won't always
be complimentary some hotels might do
that to help seal the deal with your
contract if it's during a need-based
time of the year but hey if you don't
ask you don't know another comp thing
you can ask for is a comp upgrade to a
suite or potentially a free room based
on the amount of rooms that you book now
if you're booking a block of 10 rooms
the likelihood of being able to get a
comp room is pretty low most hotels
usually operate on one 20 room nights
one per 30 room nights ratio but you you
can always ask you never know this last
one is going to be for my folks getting
married or want to hand out goodie bags
to their guests if you ask the hotel
generally speaking they will hand out
these gift bags that checking for you
keep in mind if it's busy one might get
missed so please don't get mad at the
front desk but it is something that you
can check off your list and take off
your plate I hope these tips help make
sure you check out my other hotel room
