hey everybody Welcome to the wall doway
I'm Jessica and today's video is going
to be a look inside our recently updated
holiday fun around the world now before
I show you inside at all of the new
updates if you have purchased holiday
fun around the world in the past you
should have already received an email
with a new download to the updates you
do not have to repurchase to get any of
the updates if you did not receive that
email I'm going to leave um my email in
the description just shoot me an email
and I will get you a copy of it all
right let's go ahead and take a look
inside inside holiday fun around the
world we have an introduction
page and then we have the holiday
overview what I love about this is that
it means I don't have to think so we
have all 32 of the holidays that are in
included Epiphany Lunar New Year
Valentine's Marty gr Pi Day St Patrick's
Day vernal equinox the holy Festival
Passover Easter Ramadan Earth Day Arbor
Day May Day Cinco de Mayo juneth the
summer solstice Independence Day
autumnal equinox Halloween Dia de los
MOS Thanksgiving dwali St Nicholas Day
St Lucy's Day Las padas Hanukkah winter
Solstice Christmas Quanza New Year's Eve
and Oka but also we have the date that
those holidays fall on for the next 5
years so 2024 2025 2026 2027 2028 now
when we do this unit study I sit down
with my planner and I go ahead and just
fill all of these dates in so I don't
even have to think about it it's already
done and when we get to that week I can
just pull the study out of this unit and
we're good to
go there is a celebrate around the world
track your journey
map and then there is an around the
world section that works for anytime
during the study there are supplemental
books YouTube video playlist Pinterest
board and additional suggestions like
other resources that would work
well and then we jump right into the
first holiday which is Epiphany or Three
Kings Day you do not need anything
additional
for the study there's extra resources
listed but you don't need them because
I've included a non-fiction passage here
so here is information about the holiday
here are discussion questions you can
discuss with your child after either
they've read it or you've read it
aloud here is a YouTube playlist with a
QR code and a link as well as a
Pinterest board if you want extra crafts
there are some suggested books for
additional reading if you want to check
those out from your library or if you
want to see if you already have them and
then there is a recipe ingredients and
directions for each of the
holidays there's also a custom coloring
page there is a graphic organizer or
notebooking page where your child can
record what they've learned so the date
or dates this this holiday is celebrated
who celebrates it what exactly is
celebrated the food that's eaten and the
Traditions or rituals what I love about
this is that your child can draw they
can write whatever suits them best it's
open-ended so it gives them room and
flexibility there is also now a word
search as well as a crossword puzzle for
each of the
studies and so each study repeats itself
in a similar fashion we have also now
listed the individual holidays in the
shop as well so maybe you're only
interested in the Lunar New Year you can
just purchase this individual one you do
get the better deal by purchasing the
bundle but maybe you don't want all 32
holidays maybe that seems overwhelming
so you could just purchase Lunar New
Year and you would get this reading with
the discussion questions this Resource
page that's going to give you the
additional reading the YouTube playlist
the crafts the
recipe the custom coloring
page the notebooking
page the word search
and the cross word puzzle so a great
little mini unit that you can do in
probably a few days in your home
school now like I said each holiday
repeats in a very similar fashion so I'm
just going to let you take a peek at
that
[Music]
and then in the back we have a few
extras those extras include a passport
that you can create so this would fold
and force and you would write you know
the celebrations that you attended and
when you attended them draw a picture or
put a picture there in the name age and
date issued of the
child there is also a boarding pass so
Emily used still like me to wear a
little Pilot's hat um and I would write
her name and the celebration that we
were getting ready to attend and we
would like pretend to fly
there there are ornaments where you can
have them draw different images of the
celebration you can hang them on a tree
or if you're not doing this at the
Holiday maybe you don't have a tree up
there are pennants where you could
create a pennant banner and then string
it up um with yarn or ribbon and no
Wallock Way Unit study is ever complete
without a game so holiday fun around the
world does come with a trivia game it is
really simple you would just roll a dice
and for example I got a two so I would
move two spaces and each symbol
represents either holidays Traditions or
food so I landed on Traditions which
would be this card and you can see here
that the question is for this holiday
people often cut down pine trees and
decorate them in their homes now you can
see in the bottom left hand corner it
says C because the answer is in course
see
Christmas and then you would just keep
rolling and moving until somebody
reached the end
