12 Days on 'The Island of the Gods' - Bali.. Sharing where we stayed, what we ate, and my travel essentials with kids!
Off to the boarding gate. We're all here.
13 hours of travel. We're finally at our villa.
Dave and Jockey have gone to bring some dinner back here and both the boys have crashed out of
sleep. So I'm going to jump in this pool and wash the plane off me. I think after this we're just
going to all crash.
I just used Gojek, which I guess is like Bali's Uber Eats and Uber to order us this incredible lunch.
So Jandi's got a smoothie bowl. I've got three big salads and tempeh balls for me, Jockey and Dave.
Some smoothies, some jamu shots and a coffee for me.
Cheers with a very different kind of shot than I used to have in Bali.
Today I honestly doubted whether I kind of ever want to travel with kids this young again.
It was just really hectic. We've kind of landed on our feet now. Both of the kids are having really
good sleep today. So the reason that we're here is that Zabe has a show tonight in Canggu.
So we'll get that done and then we have about another 10 nights here in Bali just to make
the most of, yeah, the flight's over. Look at the colors in that. So epic.
We've just had a quiet morning. I'm heading up to the pool to meet the others.
Little bud's just woken up. I think it's just going to be another nice chilled day with great food.
I wanted to quickly take you through a few of my, I guess, travel essentials with kids
because a few people have asked for this. So you can skip past if this isn't interesting for you.
So this is a bit of a combo of what was already in this kit and a few extra things that I wanted
to bring. So in this side, we have a few different sized dressings, big and small,
just some pseudo cream, a thermometer, a couple of larger bandages and slings.
And then in the middle here, I had these tweezers and scissors and little splinter picks.
We've got Stingo's spray, antiseptic cream, Betadine, a throat gargle,
saline nose spray, the kids, some eye wash, some hydrolyte, antiseptic wash. And in here as well,
some more cleansing wipes and bandages. In this side, more bandages, cotton tips,
emergency blanket, band-aid. So then I also just have Panadol and Nurofen for the kids,
Panadol and Nurofen for us, anti-nausea and anti-diuretic medication in case,
which I got from the doctor before we came. I pretty much just wanted to be able to treat
anything minor without having the hassle of having to go to the hotel to get things like,
you know, sterile wipes and band-aids and bandages. Next on the list is, of course,
the pram. And this bad boy has been on every trip and everywhere with me. It folds down
into one piece, so you can take it all the way to the gate and then just pick it up from oversized
when you're at the other end. And my pram is the Indy from Bumble Ride. They're a really cool
company. All of the fabric is made from recycled bottles. A lot of trips, I take a travel cot,
but on this one, most of the hotels have been able to provide one. And then I'll quickly show you
Buddy's travel cot. So that one there is Ergo Baby, and it folds up pretty much into the size
of a flat backpack, and it fits in my suitcase, which is epic. And the mosquito net has been so
good for this trip because of all the mozzies. Buddy won't fit it much longer. He's only 12
weeks, but I thought I'll probably just sell it after this trip, and it's been 100% worth it.
The last one is the baby carrier. This has just been my favorite one that I've come across,
the Ergo Baby 360 degree kind of mesh carrier, because you just got to have your hands free.
And it's just, yeah, it's been epic. I don't think I need to say much more. So today we've
come to Commune in Kiramas, the hotel. And yeah, we're just checking it out potentially
for things in the future. Who knows?
Last day, we fly home tonight. So we're spending the morning at Mana
restaurant. Mana restaurant. And pool in Uluwatu.
