Bonjour à tous et bienvenue pour un nouveau épisode de Super Easy French. Good afternoon to all and welcome to a new episode of Super Easy French.
Today, I'm with Karl, my friend from high school and college,
Who is also, incidentally, a distant cousin.
- There you go.
Good morning to all and it's a pleasure to make this first video with you.
I'll be back in a few days.
So, we are in front of the Gorbela Tower.
So, it's a tour where, when I was little, when I was about 7, 8 years old, I was going to do theater.
It's a place where you can do sports, where you can do theater.
And I could try doing some karate in this place.
So, I stand here, in front of what was, not even a year ago, the Duré Stadium.
The former stadium of the Nice football club, the OGC Nice.
So, right behind me was the football field with the grand presidential stand.
And for 90 years, it was the Stade de Nice.
So, as a Niçois, it's very bizarre for me to stand in front of you.
And here is the coat of arms of Nice.
The animal you see here is not an eagle.
Attention, very important, this is an eaglon.
Not an eagle, but an eagle, with the crown above and, I believe, the olive branches all around.
The blue represents the sea, the green the mountain, which represents the Nice landscape and its hinterland.
As you can see here, the hills behind were not even visible at the time,
Because of the presidential stand that hid the whole landscape behind.
And today, we can have a very beautiful panorama of the hills of Nice, until the end, there behind.
A la place du terrain de pied, which is no longer there since a few months, so now,
Here's what we'll see.
A large green park, people happy under a sunny day, buildings also green,
So, there's still a piece of the footpath that will be used to build a commercial building.
And it will also be a new meeting place in Nice Nord, very interesting.
And next to here, there's a parking lot that used to be a football field for the youngsters,
Where we used to play often on weekends with friends, which now has become a parking lot,
It's a shame for us who like to play football and do sports in general.
So, we're in the process of remodeling the marches which remind me enormously of the movie Rocky.
When Rocky court parades in the city, at one moment, there's a des march.
He's back in Philadelphia like this, he's super motivated.
And voilà, it reminds me really a lot of that.
So here, I'll let you discover a little surprise.
It is therefore the Temple of Love.
So this temple is a copy, not quite a copy, but a kind of reproduction of a temple,
This is the Temple of Sibyl at Tivoli, in the vicinity of Rome.
It's an old music kiosk.
So we'd been playing music with classical instruments for years.
And I think it's extremely wonderful to be able to see this kind of building in the middle of a park.
It's not always the case.
And right behind me, here, you can see the cedar.
So it is a cedar from Lebanon.
It's a cedar that's much older than me and Karl,
And even older than the two of us put together, even four times older than the two of us put together.
That's to say, it's over 200 years old.
It was planted at the end of the 18th century.
And he must have seen things, that's what I'm saying.
He must have seen a lot of things in those two centuries, maybe half a life.
So, thanks for watching this video.
On a été très heureux de la faire et de pouvoir vous montrer ce quartier de Nice Nord I was very happy to do it and to be able to show you this neighbourhood of Nice Nord
Where on a grand, where on a lived not a little time in our lives.
And it's very nice to share a little of our childhood, of our life with you.
Since it's here that we've lived our lives, good moments.
And it teaches you to know us a little more.
I hope you liked the video, its content, but also what we showed you.
