HIGHLIGHTS | Olympique Lyonnais vs. VfL Wolfsburg - UEFA Women's Champions League 24-25

So the teams made their way out then for the final time in 2024. Lyon and Wolfsburg, two massive entities in women's football, two champions of Europe. It's a risky one for Renat, but away quickly and there's plenty of space now for Lindsay Horan finding Chawinga up against Werdemeyer and she's backing herself. Chawinga looking to go. Hendricks in the way for a corner to Lyon. Selma Basia. It's Ward-Horan who made that late dart for Wolfsburg. They went all the way to the final in 2023 more recently. It's Dioni just peeling away and the angle was always against her. Chawinga for Selma Basia now. Poff in the way. Hegerberg. That's the option going to come from. Here's Hendricks. Hegerick for Werdemeyer. Jon Stottier up against Selma Basia. Jon Stottier has got the better of her as well and there's Poff. Jon Stottier again. Gilles in the way. Basia stops her going out for a corner. First time really we've seen Svendish Jon Stottier get the better of Selma Basia. Kieland sends it back in, but Tamara Sekarola. Chawinga can't get out of the minute. Lyon. Here's Werdemeyer. Svenja Hoot. Kieland for Jon Stottier. How she reacted to that. Kieland. First notable attempt from Wolfsburg and take something away from Lyon. Hoot. Jon Stottier. Three in there for Wolfsburg. Only as far as Joelle Werdemeyer. Poff for Hegering. Trying to look from range. She's very capable of scoring goals from range. And she's tried to cut that out, but only into the pass of Lusameh. Diani. Harani's in there. Chawinga too, but they're not going to get anything more from this Lyon. It has been that kind of night. Less of anticipation when Tabitha Chawinga was clicking through the gears. Here's Diani. And van der Donk. Put away from Lusameh in the nick of time by Werdemeyer. Lusameh. It's away by Werdemeyer. Only as far as Sophie Sveva. Jon Stottier defensively. Wolfsburg have been terrific tonight. Vicky Besho, the next to make her arrival. And Tabitha Chawinga makes way. Vicky Besho started a career with Paris Saint-Germain. She's native of the eastern Parisian suburbs. Scored in a month since she fired it against Le Havre. Still no goals yet here tonight as Hula Brand is stopped by van der Donk. And he feeds Diani. What can she do here? Diani. Great skills. Diani. And it is in. It's Daniela van der Donk. The slightest touch to break through Wolfsburg with 10 minutes to go. Well it was looking like it was going to be one of those nights. But made by Diani. And there was van der Donk for a second goal in the competition this season. Patience and then the deft touch from van der Donk. Here's Berenstain. They go wide again or through the heart of Lyon. Jon Stottier was the better option. Jon Stottier taking it on herself. Gladwein. The seventh time crowned Bundesliga champions. Hula Brand. She's going to line one up here. And wasn't far away at all. Just angled away. I think had that covered anyhow. The goals this season for Hula Brand have been at the qualifiers. Both legs against Fiorentina. So yet to score in the group stage. It's a winner of the gold Fritz Walter medal. Which is a prestigious award for young players in Germany. Here is Berenstain. But that's good defensive play from Renat as we hit four more minutes to play. The blitz for Becho. Block from Jon Stottier. Slowly closing in on the four. Thumbs up night so far for Lyon. Peasing away the seconds. Frustrating the life out of Wolfsburg. March 2023. The last time that they lost competitively at home Lyon. They're not losing tonight. They're winning. Six out of six for the record European champions.
