Rome in 48 Hours: My Solo Trip to Italy (Part 1)🇮🇹🍕

It feels like you are walking inside your books. This country was always out of peace. Engin decided to make a step forward. He bought tickets, he booked me a place. And right now I'm going to. Especially in Austria it's now pretty much cold. In the morning it was 2 degrees. And there is supposed to be 18-19. I'm very much excited about that too. And I'm excited about culture, architecture, food, language. So there are many things to discover. I will have two full days. Let's see what will happen. So I'm already running. Because we are stuck in a traffic. And I have 2 minutes to catch up my train. I have literally 2 minutes. I asked Chet GPT to plan for me the journey based on my interests. So I could learn which places to visit. I could learn how to get there. I could learn how much it will cost me. Also transfer from airport to my accommodation. I even asked to plan for me the job I'm planning to do. To fit my schedule. So it's just incredible. I have just one backpack. Because I'm leaving my computer and some stuff to be able to work. It always becomes more heavy. But this is it. This is the digital nomad life. I cannot go without my computer. I have a right chair here. I passed successfully security check. I'm duty free. And it's important to not make the same mistake as I made when I was going to France. Because I went to the wrong terminal. And I kind of left the country. But because I'm traveling within European Union. I need to go to the proper place. Because that time I was looking on some things in duty free. And I made that mistake. So pleasant having a domestic flight. It feels so easy. And of course without a baby. It feels so strange. I think I just started to realize that I'm going for a journey. As myself just alone. That will be time for me. Doing some work and also searching and trying to plan my trip. The funny fact that I almost didn't know anything before I came to the airport. Let's see how I'll make it. In 1 hour 40 minutes the flight was. It was quite easy. I slept actually. Rested very well. I'm going on a train. I'm with arrows which leads to the train. I don't know the proper train. Then Austria. I'm so happy. It was freaking cold already. The train supposed to be in 7 minutes. Guys looks like I've arrived. For the first time I'm arriving alone at the evening. I'm excited. This is my room. It's very different. It's quite nice. A bit cold. I felt on the street warmer. I can do my work here. This is my bed. Very new experience. In the end I have different pizzas. Some local thing with potatoes and blue cheese. I'm super excited. And tea. I felt so cold. I wanted some hot thing. Not sure that it's common for Italy to drink tea. Some pizza with prosciutto. Pizza with eggplant and zucchini. I didn't expect like that. But it's amazing. Delicious. I got quite full. It was pretty big dinner. But I saw a very nice dessert shop. Nearby my accommodation. It was looking so delicious. So I really want to try something. Also it was so chilly at home. It would be nice to have a cup of tea at home. But I didn't check do I have in a kitchen tea. I got some amazing desserts. So I already feel like a local. Honestly I was a little bit scared. Something can be stolen. I was too much precocious. Now I felt the city. I feel better. People already felt very nice. The place where I bought a dessert. There was such a sweet lady. Grocery shop was closed already. But I was lucky to find open one. Here is tea. These are desserts I picked from the neighbour pastry shop. I felt really tired today. Noah was waking up very early. Actually even Engin was letting me to sleep in the morning. Because we have a system. Engin goes to sleep earlier. And wakes up earlier. I go to bed later. I put Noah to sleep usually. And then I can sleep a little bit longer in the morning. And still we are both so exhausted. Because Noah now doesn't let us sleep really. This is such an amazing feeling. I still try to understand. To realize I am in Italy. Which I was dreaming almost all my life to get here. There was different reasons. I need to be honest with you. Also I was pretty much scared to arrive at the evening in darkness. Because you know my navigation skills are very bad. But right now I came. I feel the place. I am relaxed. I was able to go around in the darkness. Almost 8 o'clock. And I felt a bit similar to my hometown city in Ukraine. When I live alone and I walk around. It's ok. People are living their own life. And it's quite nice. Now I am relaxing. I really want to sleep so much. I will try to take the longest sleep I think. It's approximately 8.30. I woke up recently. And honestly I am super sleepy as you can see. But of course I cannot trade it for my day in Rome. I have just 2 full days. So I will be getting ready now. And have to enjoy my first cappuccino in Italy. Everything in the light. I am excited. In the darkness I couldn't really understand. I could feel. But I couldn't see what is around. It is really chilly. Using my google maps of course. The best part. What I learned is small fountains have good water. So you always can refill your bottle and put water. It is cold. I really didn't expect that it will be so cold. At the same time I don't feel bad that I carry my jacket for nothing. And I was thinking to take lighter jacket. Which will not be useful. So it's good. So guys. I got my classical Italian breakfast. It is not in my habit to start it with a sweets. I thought this is something traditional. And I decided to go for this exactly today. One last thing with this Italian thing. It is like some orange paste for instance. I think I am that kind of traveler. Who likes to just walk on the streets. And see all the details. How people live. I have a feeling I might change plan already. I changed the plan. Went to another coffee shop. Looks like guys. You can rent electrical bike. But the parking. I thought to pass through cars. But there is no space to pass. It is a beautiful district. And I am going now to one special villa. I think it is like a hidden gem. And it is so empty streets now. I didn't go to the touristic the most. And maybe it is not that much season of course. For many tourists. So I am completely enjoying the silence. You know guys. I just caught myself when I thought. That wherever I visit any country. I feel so shy. That I don't speak their language. I feel like I have to speak. Every kind of language. Maybe it came with the years. Of traveling everywhere. And trying to be like a local. That is why. I feel like I have to speak. At least a little bit. And when I don't speak. I feel so shy. This is weird. Guys. Rome actually is like every corner. Gives you a feeling of history. Wherever you step you feel this. Like an open air museum. Some buildings. Some ruins. Right now I entered the famous villa. But it is still hidden gem. There are not many people around. This is so peaceful. I think it is one of the best times. To come and explore. Where it is not that hot. And not so crowded. Also of course. Rome is a very modern city as well. So it is seamlessly blend. Modern and old times. I think I love this the most. I love it in architecture. I love it in interiors. I love it in a city. When you can feel. In nowadays of course. You can use like this. Electrical bikes. You can use like transport. I don't know. Like easy transfer everywhere. Go by Uber or something. And at the same time you can. Kind of feel close to that. Historical part. This romanic empire. Was famous. All around the world. And now I cannot believe. I can walk through. And touch. I don't know. Since I was a kid I like to imagine. I don't know. I like to touch such a stuff. Old and. Kind of feel how it was. Ages before. Used by other people. I can enter. Villa. There is a ticket office. I will just make a round. I can enter. Because I think I can see some. Arts inside. It's not in my plan. To go to many like museums. I want to enjoy more streets. That's cool. I cannot imagine. All these museums in Italy. All these spots. You need a lot of time. To live here and explore. And I feel. Pity that I have just 2 days. I am happy that I have at least 2 days. Of course. But it's definitely place. To come and live for a while. Maybe we can make it one day. As digital nomads. Now I am entering. The special district. But it feels already insane. The buildings. So cool. So perfect. They are kind of old. So beautiful. It feels like. You are walking inside your books. Which you studied. As an architect. I study these proportions. All these details. Tobacco shops. You can buy it. I think to purchase it for 2 days. It works for the metro. Trams and buses. And the price is like. 12 euro 50 cents. Something like that. I bought tickets. But this shop had just. One ticket. For 100 minutes. It cost 1.5 euro. And I can take. Only one time metro. I stopped. My charge is over. It finished on my phone. I need google maps. I am heading now to the restaurant. To have lunch. I think I am coming close to the place. I was heading to. I am planning to. To taste some pasta. And it was recommended. Like a good place. This is the district called Monty. And it is also famous. With some different. Art shops. With some different. Historical buildings. And good food. Really get hungry. Because I had a breakfast. Just those two small mini croissants. The line. I am from Ukraine. It was not exactly. What I was expecting. I thought it would be like a restaurant. But they call it lab. There is a self service. And there is always a big line. You need to wait. To get your spot. Your spot is pretty much tiny. But their dishes are delicious. It is also a gastronomy tour. Of course in Italy. It could not be different. I walked down the street. Turned my head. And I am seeing the epic spot. For Rome. And of course everyone knows. What is that. And it already looks crazy. I think it is a very touristic area. I should be careful. This is the Colosseum. Looks impressive. It can take so much of my time. But. I will be walking around. Because there are some areas. Which you can watch outside. There are greens. Very historical. Things. Much closer. Looks like a very nice tourist. Full of some people. Trying to give you some services. But as I can see. Also in Colosseum. Some areas are very ancient. Some areas are destroyed. And some areas are a little bit. Restorated with the bricks. I think they kept it very cool. It is impressive. Quite impressive. A huge territory. Right now I am heading to get some. Coffee and dessert. From some great park. Looks nice. Wow. I got such a good spot. I can look. Just straight to Colosseum. I am thinking. What to prioritize. How to spend time. Enjoy this park so much. Actually so cool. In the heart of Rome. They have this. Sport area. Volleyball area. Basketball and ramps. For doing some tricks. It is amazing. So it turns out. Where I came to drink coffee and have a dessert. It was a place just to take away. I couldn't see it. And I was walking through. The press charging my phone. That type of cafe. The road takes me through. Another beautiful park. I can imagine how do you feel here in spring. Or summer. Maybe fountains would be working. Very cozy place. It was a pretty long journey. It was quite exhausting. Finally I found a place. Where I can charge my phone. To go back to my accommodation. I have some desserts. Pannoli. Tiramisu and some apricot. And chocolate and pistachio. Americano. I can tell that the pasture nearby. My house. Their dessert was better. Than this one. I am traveling on a district called. Trastevere. The road from that coffee shop. To this area. Was quite scary. It was dark. Less people, more cars. I would not pick that road. If I knew that. But this is how ChadGBT led me. Right now feels like the district. Is more nice. Dark narrow streets. This is a really. Unique experience. It's getting dark early. At this time of the year. And I arrived. Pizza was great. I couldn't finish it. I think I ate too many things. It's good. I am extremely tired.
