The last game before Christmas and Santa has been already in the form of a new head coach,
a new era, or perhaps not quite so new as the Portuguese presence at the forefront of
the Wolves project returns.
Vitor Pereira has given up Sonny Saudi for a worried Wolverhampton first job, hold to
a four-game losing streak in which we've conceded 12 goals.
History suggests the task is even greater than it may appear.
The Old Gold have never won here at the King Power in the Premier League era.
Long ball through, Vardy's on, Jose Sarr's managed to block it outside the penalty area.
The Leicester fans are screaming that that hit his arm.
Anthony Taylor didn't see it.
Let's see if we get a replay here on what happened between Jamie Vardy and Jose Sarr.
He's just got in between the gap between Totti and Santi, straight through ball.
And Jose Sarr two yards outside of his box.
As Vardy tries to knock it past him, hits his right shoulder.
Cunha drilling the free kick in, it came off a Leicester head, still outside the penalty area.
Doherty gets the loose ball first, Edder Christensen back to Samedo.
Samedo trying to stab it forwards towards Gredes' run.
Gredes on the hook and Gredes scores!
Into the back of the net, Gonzalo Gredes.
19 minutes gone at the King Power Stadium.
Now since Samedo's long ball forwards, Gredes hurt in the process.
It was a brave finish to let the ball come past his right-hand side and hook it past Danny Ward.
The first goal of the Vitor Pereira era, it's Leicester 0, Wolves 1.
Here you go, looking a little bit more direct.
Salah couldn't strike ball, but I'll tell you what Gredes did so well,
he used his body just to hold the Leicester defender off.
Yeah, I think Vestergaard didn't see Gredes behind him.
So Wolves with the advantage as we go past the 24-minute mark.
Good centre-forward play by Larsson just to nudge Kody out the way and find Rodrigo Gomez.
Clever ball infield to Cunha, that's the edge of the box, Cunha's shot blocked by Kody.
Samare trying to clear forwards.
And Hanus with a pass infield, evades the Wolves midfield here.
Samare and then the challenge in by Andre, free-kick given, has to get on with it quickly.
Mavadidi down the left-hand side, up against Santi Bueno.
Mavadidi into the penalty area, right-footed, curling effort!
Jose Sarr parries down and collects at the second attempt.
Onto Semedo, to Andre, early on, up to Gredes.
This is nice from Wolves, nice little backheel to Semedo.
Semedo has Larsson making the run ahead of him and Gredes wide.
It's to Gredes who drills the ball towards the far post, just too high for Rodrigo.
Gredes is playing with a bit of freedom, aren't I?
I don't mind it, I don't mind it, I like it, I like it.
Back to Rodrigo Gomez, back to Xiao Gomez, to Totti Gomez.
To Santi Bueno Gomez, yeah, to Santi Bueno.
Doherty, long diagonal.
Oh, they've left it, comes through to Rodrigo!
And it's gonna go over the line!
Rodrigo Gomez!
What a moment for the youngster!
What a mistake from Leicester!
It's a long diagonal pass though, the Leicester defence left,
Rodrigo Gomez didn't, he kept going, got Semi Conin,
and managed to bundle it past the goalkeeper.
Huge smile for the youngster.
Leicester 0-2.
We talk about having a gamble, having a go for it,
and that's exactly what he did.
The Leicester player was in control of that situation,
but he was happy to leave it, and he just read it so well.
That's what you do, as an attacker, expect the best.
And that's exactly what he went and done.
Oh, hang on a minute, they're checking a possible handball here.
He looks to hit him above the sleeve line.
But it's on his left arm.
Is it chest-on-to-arm?
Goal given, panic over, everybody.
Here's Mabatidi, down the left-hand side,
Flak has stayed down, oh, Totti's missed it,
comes through to Vardy! Blocked by Totti off the line.
Goodness me, almost a huge calamity to give Leicester a route back into the game.
Well, I don't know what happened there in the first one with the ball through.
We got lucky there, we got lucky.
But he's running into his own goal, and his body's always gonna take him that way.
Samedo's ball down the line, Gonzalo Cuedes towards the by-line,
being forced out towards the corner flag, infield to Kunja,
in the box, Kunja, it's low and it's in!
Mateus Kunja by the far post, Wolves have a third before the break.
The Vitor Pereira era has started magnificently.
Wow, who would have thought?
Such a comfortable goal.
Gonzalo Cuedes involved again, Mateus Kunja took it on,
and when he got inside the box, the wrong side of the defence,
it was whether he could squeeze it in, and he managed to find a route to the far post.
Brilliant work by Cuedes again.
Kunja, might be a slight touch to the fingertips of the goalkeeper,
but there's too much power from Mateus Kunja's effort.
He's had a quiet couple of games, the Brazilian.
Chaudry back to Cody, Cody looking to hit the long diagonal,
seen that plenty of times in gold.
Found Mavadidi.
Down the left-hand side for Leicester to Samare, left-footed cross.
Aiyu got in front of Chao Gomez, but Santi Bueno got there to close him down.
Andre just puts his foot through it to clear.
Jordan Aiyu with the resulting free kick, two yards in from the right-hand touchline,
pretty much level with the edge of the walls, penalty area.
Aiyu right-footed in towards the near post, Vardy's flick on,
and safe into the hands of Jose Sarr.
Tell you what I was just about to say,
the ball's going to be whipped in, Vardy's in front of our player.
Cuedes needs to drop for me.
Probably more time than he realised as well, Kunja.
Didn't think he necessarily needed to nod that down, but he was fine.
Flipped on by Semedo, Cuedes with an early cross,
Jorgen Schanlarsson couldn't quite get there,
Cody heads it behind for the wall's corner.
Kunja's corner, right-footed from the right-hand side.
That's a weird corner, trying to play it short, Mavadidi intercepted,
Kunja got there though, backheel, he's going to stay in for Semedo.
Semedo had a chance to cross, pulls back, Doherty had a chance to cross,
he'll pull it back, Kunja had a chance to cross,
he eventually does, and he's had it on, and it's just wide by Santi Bueno.
So near to the fourth goal for Wolves.
Grimace almost of Santi as he jogs back.
Stayed forwards, desperate for somebody to put the ball in the penalty area,
and eventually when it came in, it's a very good header, you know.
Kunja for Doherty, warm supporters cheering every pass,
the Ole's are out, Semedo, Cuedes, right-hand corner of the box,
just outside of it, Semedo, back infield to Kunja,
25 yards from goal, attempted ball four is blocked off by Samare,
Andre first to the loose ball, finds Totti,
there's going to be more and more gaps in the home end if this continues.
Wolves are taking a mid-kick, Semedo fouled by Valparaiso,
they just didn't like it there, Lester, you could tell someone was going to get kicked,
and it's given Wolves a free kick in a dangerous area.
Cuedes is stood in an offside position by the penalty spot,
he's going to run back now, Kunja rips it in,
he went for the near post, and Ward watched it into the side netting.
3-0, I don't mind.
Michel Gomez with a bit of a tie looking clear,
he's going to see Doyle and Dawson coming on shortly,
Winks trying to lift it in towards Vardy's run,
and Vardy, that was a clever little nudge from Santi Bueno, put him off balance.
Here's Winks' ball four, it's intercepted by Andre,
he'll be right up there for my man of the match, you know.
Michel Gomez with a pass on for Kunja, Larsen's in the penalty area,
Kunja is going to try and pick out Michel Gomez with a diving header that goes wide.
Six yards out, right-footed cross from Mateus Kunja,
and Michel Gomez had a glorious chance to add a four.
He's put his arms up in the air, I was about to say, what on earth was that?
Mavadidi lifting it into the danger zone, Bonanotte tried to get there,
it was just about getting clear, Hwang's header, Kunja, might be a chance to break.
Kunja, he's got Doyle running to his right,
Xiao Gomez to his left, Wang up there as well,
four on three, here's Kunja, to the left of Xiao Gomez, and he's shot and saved by Ward.
Bonanotte with the ball, looking to run forwards,
Totti got the block on it, Chaudhry's delivery in,
Vardy's touch, but taken by Jose Sarr.
Back to Kody, playing in that, almost to his name for Wolves,
he's picked out Diekwood over Reid, but Jose Sarr
fucks it out the air with a half-shot, half-cross.
He's considering it, Vitor Pereira,
the away end wants a wave from him, I don't think he's going to get it.
He's all business.
He didn't understand, he didn't understand.
He's all business.
Game's not done.
Someone's got to tell him.
The Vitor Pereira starts with a resounding victory,
and a clean sheet too.
What a difference a new head coach can make.
Goals from Gonzalo Queres, Rodrigo Gomez,
he's first for the club, and Mateus Kunja,
all in the first half, gave Wolves a cushion,
they never looked like losing.
They had chances to add more,
Santi Bueno headed wide in the second half,
Shelf Gomez had a diving header that went beyond the far post,
but it has been a resounding victory
to kick off the new era,
and hopefully signal a turnaround in form,
and an early Christmas present
for all those of the Old Gold and Black persuasion too.
It finished Leicester 0, Wolves 3.
