Welcome back to Cedar Channel. Today our adventure hero will take on an exciting challenge,
building a cozy shelter under a big tree deep in the heart of the forest.
Join him on this thrilling journey and experience every moment of hard work,
inspiration, and connection with nature. While exploring the dense forest, he stumbled upon
the perfect spot to build his dream shelter serene, shaded area beneath a towering tree,
surrounded by the beauty of nature. Without hesitation, he decided to turn his vision
into reality. With tools in hand, he got straight to work, carefully clearing away
the surrounding vegetation and undergrowth to prepare the area for construction.
After clearing the grass and vegetation, he grabbed his trusty hoe and began the meticulous
task of digging the foundation for his shelter. With the towering tree as his centerpiece,
he carefully planned and measured each side, ensuring the structure would harmonize with
its natural surroundings. Once the digging was complete, he gathered a pile of stones,
carefully selecting them to serve as the primary building material for his shelter.
These stones would form the sturdy walls of his forest retreat. He traveled to a nearby area,
searching for the perfect soil to bring back to his construction site. This soil would soon
be transformed into a carefully crafted, cementitious mixture that would hold the
stones together and ensure the durability and stability of his shelter. After preparing a
mixture, he began to build the wall precisely and carefully. First, he spread a layer of mud
as a base, then carefully placed each stone one by one, stacking them securely. With each layer,
he used the mud to fill in the gaps, ensuring a tight bond between the stones.
His hands moved skillfully, adjusting and aligning each stone to create a straight and sturdy wall.
While building the walls, he carefully left an opening in the front wall for the main door,
ensuring it was the perfect size and position. Additionally, he created another opening on the
Every detail was meticulously considered as he worked to blend functionality with the natural
beauty of his surroundings. One by one, he carefully placed each stone onto the growing
walls, ensuring every piece fit perfectly. With patience and precision, he worked tirelessly
until all four sides of the structure stood tall before him. On the outer surface of the walls,
he carefully spread an even layer of mud, creating a smooth base. Then, he meticulously
pressed stones onto the surface, embedding them firmly into the mud. This added not only extra
strength, but also gave the walls a rustic, natural charm, blending the structure seamlessly
with its forest surroundings. He continued to build the walls higher, layer by layer,
until the height of the doorframe was just right. Once it reached the desired level,
he placed a wooden beam across the top, securing it firmly. Then, he proceeded to
stack more stones above, ensuring the stability of the structure. Next to the main door,
he carefully left a small frame, planted at a window to allow natural light to fill the room,
creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere inside.
He took a long branch and placed it in the middle of the concrete wall.
From the top of the branch, he stretched a strong rope down each side of the wall,
forming a balanced triangle. He then began to stack stones along this frame,
gradually increasing the height of the roof. He repeated the same process on the opposite wall,
making sure both sides matched perfectly, bringing the structure closer to completion.
Next, he carefully covered the entire exterior of the walls with a fresh layer of mud,
smoothing it out evenly. Just as he had done with the lower sections,
he began pressing stones onto the surface, one by one, embedding them into the mud.
He went deep into the forest, searching for a sturdy supply of wood and bamboo.
After gathering a considerable amount, he returned to the construction site,
ready to continue working on the roof. With precision, he began crafting the frame,
carefully notching the wood to fit perfectly together. He skillfully joined the pieces
to form a sharp triangular peak, which would serve as the foundation for the roof.
This frame was then placed atop the previously constructed walls,
aligning it carefully with the two peaks he had already built. He took long, strong wooden beams
and laid them horizontally from one side of the roof to the other, bridging the two peaks.
These beams formed the primary structure of the roof, providing stability and support.
Once the basic roof frame was in place, he began the process of thatching.
He took the bamboo poles and carefully arranged them across the frame,
one by one. With a hammer in hand, he secured each bamboo stalk tightly,
ensuring they were placed close together to form a seamless, solid roof.
Next, he took the mud mixture and began spreading it evenly across the surface of the roof.
Carefully, he worked the mud into every gap between the bamboo stalks,
ensuring that it covered the entire surface. He took a moment to relax, setting down his tools
and lighting a small fire. He carefully brewed a pot of tea, letting the warmth of the drink
fill the air with a comforting aroma. Sitting down on a nearby rock, he took a deep breath,
enjoying the peace and quiet of the forest. He returned to his work with renewed energy.
He went to the nearby grassy hill, carefully gathering the thick,
green grass. When he had enough, he carried the bundles back to the shelter.
He began laying the grass mats over the roof, arranging them closely together,
ensuring they covered every inch of the surface. The soft, vibrant green of the grass created a
natural, insulating layer, adding both beauty and functionality to the roof.
With each mat placed, the roof became more complete,
blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Next, he moved inside the shelter to focus on building a bed for himself.
In one corner of the room, he began by carefully arranging stones into a rectangular frame.
The stones formed a solid foundation, and once the frame reached the desired height,
he filled it with earth, packing it tightly to create a firm base.
After the frame was fully filled, he smoothed the surface,
then applied a layer of mud to help secure everything in place.
Finally, he laid small bamboo sticks closely together across the top,
creating a sturdy, comfortable surface for his bed.
The bed was now ready, offering a cozy spot for him to rest after a long day of hard work.
He continued with the next phase of his work, focusing on the floor of the shelter.
First, he spread a layer of mud evenly across the ground,
smoothing it out to create a solid base.
Once the surface was prepared, he carefully placed the stones onto the mud,
arranging them close together to form a flat, sturdy floor.
Taking his time, he gently tapped each stone with a hammer,
ensuring they settled evenly into the mud, creating a level surface.
As night fell and the forest became quiet, he spread out a simple bed on the bamboo frame
he had built, making sure it was comfortable and ready for rest.
The next day, he resumed his work with determination.
At the spot where he had left a gap in the sidewall, he planned to build a small kitchen.
He began by clearing the area outside that section of the wall,
removing any debris and obstacles.
Once the space was ready, he started stacking stones in a circular formation,
extending outward from the gap, creating the base of a fire pit.
He carefully built higher stone walls, shaping them to channel the smoke upward.
He designed the structure so that the smoke would flow through a chimney straight up
and away from the cooking area.
The fire pit is taking shape, a key part of his new home, where he can cook and stay warm.
Once the fire pit was complete, he gathered some dry wood and started a fire,
watching the small flames grow larger.
He began work on the courtyard area.
Starting at the entrance, he dug a series of steps.
Next, he dug a shallow trench around the perimeter of the courtyard,
creating a clear boundary between the courtyard and the surrounding terrain.
After finishing the digging, he took the mud mixture and spread it evenly across the trench,
ensuring it covered the entire perimeter.
Once the mud was in place, he began stacking stones on top,
carefully arranging them to form a solid barrier around the yard.
With each stone placed, the boundary became more defined, creating a sturdy,
natural wall that would keep the yard secure and separated from the rest of the land.
The stones were carefully placed, one by one,
until the trench was filled in and the wall stood level with the house,
for the front of the house was on a steep slope and he planned to level his yard.
After completing the courtyard frame, he began pouring in dirt,
gradually raising the ground to the desired height.
With each pour, he carefully made the surface level and stable.
Holding a large stone in his hand, he used it as a tool to compact the earth,
striking it down firmly to compress the soil.
The repeated pressure helped to solidify the ground,
ensuring the yard would be level, sturdy, and secure for daily use.
Once the yard foundation was firm, he covered the surface with a layer of mud,
smoothing it evenly across the ground.
He then began placing the stones, just as he had done with the floor inside the house,
carefully positioning them close together to create a solid, durable surface.
Starting with the steps, he positioned the stones one by one,
ensuring each was tightly fitted to create sturdy, flat steps that would be safe to walk on.
With each stone, he tapped them gently into place,
ensuring they settled into the mud beneath them, making them firm and level.
Once the steps were in place, he moved outwards from the entrance,
laying stones across the yard.
He worked systematically, starting at one end and working his way around,
placing the stones tightly together,
making sure they were aligned properly to form a smooth, level surface.
As he worked, he kept checking for any uneven spots,
making adjustments until the entire yard was well paved and sturdy.
The yard gradually becomes a beautiful and functional space.
The combination of compacted mud and carefully placed stones gives the yard a clean, rustic look.
In one corner of the yard, he decided to add an outdoor cooking area.
He collected more rocks and began stacking them in a circle,
forming the base of the outdoor kitchen.
Each rock was carefully placed, forming a sturdy wall to hold the fire.
Once the outdoor kitchen was completed,
he continued to fill in the remaining yard right at that corner.
And just like that, his yard was also completed.
He lit a fire in the outdoor kitchen and put the kettle on to make tea.
While he waited for the water to heat up, he returned to his work.
His focus shifted to the front door, where he planned to build a wooden frame.
He carefully measured and cut the wooden beams to the correct sizes,
each piece carefully shaped to fit together.
With a saw, he crafted notches at the ends of the beams,
allowing them to lock together securely.
Once the pieces were ready, he assembled the frame into a rectangular shape,
checking for perfect alignment.
Once the frame was complete, he placed it into the door opening and secured it in place.
Next, he turned his attention to the door itself.
He began by creating the frame for the door,
using sturdy wood for the base, just like he had done with the door frame.
He carefully measured and cut the wood to ensure everything fit perfectly.
To add extra stability to the door,
he decided to install two horizontal wooden beams across the frame.
He carefully measured the placement,
ensuring the beams were positioned evenly for balance.
Once the frame was complete, he started attaching vertical wooden slats to it,
securing each one tightly.
He placed the slats side by side,
making sure they were evenly spaced and covered the entire base of the door.
When all the slats were attached, the door was fully covered and ready for installation.
Once the door was complete, he shifted his focus to building a set of furniture for the yard.
He began with the table, starting by constructing the frame.
Using sturdy wood, he carefully measured and cut the legs,
making sure they were all the same length.
He then secured the legs to the table frame by knelling the edges together,
creating a solid foundation.
Once the basic frame was assembled, he moved on to the tabletop.
He carefully laid out wooden planks,
placing them side by side until they covered the entire surface of the table.
Following the completion of the table, he moved on to build a matching chair for the yard.
He started by constructing the basic frame,
using strong wooden beams for the legs and armrests.
Carefully, he measured and cut the pieces to ensure the right fit,
then began joining them together.
He secured each corner tightly with nails, making sure the frame was stable and solid.
Once the structure was complete, he checked all the joints
and ensured everything was tight and safe.
The chair was simple yet sturdy, with a comfortable backrest
that would allow him to relax and enjoy his newly created outdoor space.
After completing the table and chair, he took a well-deserved break,
sitting down to enjoy a drink on his new outdoor furniture.
He then turned his attention to the vacant lot next to the house.
Determined to make the most of the space,
he tilled the soil, loosened it, and prepared it for planting.
He carefully spreads the seeds on the ground, making sure they are spaced properly.
After sowing the seeds, he waters the soil fairly and waits,
knowing that in time the plants will grow and he will soon enjoy the fruits of his labor.
And so, his house was finally completed, just as he had envisioned.
Now, he could relax, cook delicious meals, and enjoy the comfort of his new home.
The space was not just a shelter, but a symbol of his hard work,
determination, and the fulfillment that comes from creating something with passion and care.
It was a place built with his own hands, filled with the fruits of his hard work.
