It's 4 30 in the morning. We're about to go wake up the kids and surprise them
with probably the most exciting Christmas surprise they have yet received. Let's go wake up the kids.
Hey buddy. Bud. Peter.
Good morning. Good morning buddy. Hey we gotta get you dressed okay? We gotta get you dressed.
We have a Christmas surprise for you. Oh Jane. Hi. Good morning. Good morning. Did you hear us?
We have an early Christmas surprise for you guys. But you guys gotta get dressed okay? Do you want
to, do you guys want to, do you guys want to have fun in the surprise? Yeah. Let me wake up.
Let me wake up. Okay. Get dressed. Okay. Get dressed. I have your clothes so I'll bring them
to your room okay? So we gotta get dressed, brush our teeth and go potty and then come downstairs
right away. Okay buddy? You excited? Okay I'll go get your clothes. I'll be right back. Look who is
in the car this morning just waiting for us. The elf must know what's going on. Not much light in
here but we have Bella. We have Jane and Peter in the back. Do you guys know where we're going? No.
Do you have any clue? Yes. I think we're going to the beach. You think you're going to the beach? Yes.
We are how many bathroom breaks down? Three? Three or four. We've been on the road for two hours.
We've been on the road for yeah two, two hours yeah. We've had three or four bathroom breaks.
Even our puppy had to whimper her way to a bathroom break. She did. She had an upset belly
but she's like get me out of this car. I gotta go to the bathroom. So we are hopefully on a
longer stretch this time but I think the kids want to have a second guess. Where do you think
we're going? I don't know. We're going to the barbecue place? Yeah we're going. Okay. Jane
thinks we're going to the barbecue place. Yeah because we're right outside of Austin right now.
Oh good guess. That's not true. Peter what do you think?
Okay I'll give you guys a hint. We're gonna take, we're not gonna get there until tomorrow.
What? So we're gonna drive two whole days. So now where do you think we're going? Boulder.
Boulder we'd be there by today. I think I know. Okay where? We're going to my grandpa's house. And where?
Wisconsin. Yes we're going to Wisconsin for Christmas.
We're going to see my grandpa. Yeah. Are you guys excited? Yeah. It's been two and a half years since
you've been to Wisconsin huh? Yeah. And we are going to be stepping into some snow and very very
cold temperatures. Okay guys. We're not really prepared. Okay Jane. Okay it is 50 degrees right
now. Are you guys cold? Here in Texas it's 50 degrees. When you went to go potty, were you cold?
Yes. Well my feet are cold because I can't even have pants on. Okay tell them the temperature in Wisconsin right now.
But the current temperature in Wisconsin when we woke up this morning was seven degrees. Seven.
Seven degrees in Wisconsin. What? I'm the only one who has a snow jacket.
Uh we're gonna be there for a little over a week.
So this trip will be
this trip will be almost two weeks long because we are driving for four days.
Yes and we'll be there for eight days again. But guys we are enjoying Christmas in Wisconsin.
It is snowing there. It is very very cold. We have not been there in two and a half years so it is
We're gonna be there when the Packers play at Lambeau Field. And clench their seat into the
playoffs. Right? Did I say that right? Okay. I'm learning. I've had 12 years of learning
the whole football game. It might be a frozen tundra. Yes. I know. I think we might try to
make a stop at Lambeau Field. So guys you will have to come along with us on our fun Christmas
adventure in Wisconsin. Spaghetti cheese. Now the kids are dreaming of cheese. Sausages. No.
What else? Packers. Lambeau Field. What else are you looking forward to? The park. The Lambeau Field
Park which is called Titletown Park. Isn't that Titletown Village? Titletown Village? No that's
where the apartments went up. I don't know. It's been a little while. They've added so many more
things. They have added. We have a lot to show you guys on our trip to Wisconsin.
No we're sleeping at Grandma and Grandpa's. Tonight. Oh tonight. Yes. Yes. So here's what's
going on. We did not plan to do this at all. Yesterday we left a Cub Scout Christmas party
and we've kind of talked about going out to Wisconsin for Christmas and we're like hey you
know what? Should we do this? Should we pack up the car? Should we get crazy and drive out there
and enjoy Christmas with everybody? Surprise everybody because nobody knows we're coming
and that's what we're doing. We're pinching ourselves wondering what we're doing but yeah
we're heading on over to Wisconsin. We're going to bring you guys along for all that but first
we got to get there. We're in Austin. Let me turn the camera around. Peter said he's gonna cry. He's
so excited. We're in Austin. Austin, Texas. This is a great city if you guys are looking for some fun
family adventuring and even maybe just with the couples. It's a great city to explore. We uh we
came out here for Franklin's Barbecue which is right over here on the right side and it was
great. So delicious and then we went to the Capitol Building which is over here on the left
and what else did we do? We did the duck boat tour. You can see the Capitol Building right over there
and we did a lot of stuff here in Austin. The big net. Oh yes we went to Century Park I believe
which was a lot of fun. So we'll be back. We love this city so much.
We stopped at Bucky's for lunch. Bella is trying to go potty but she sees all the puppies out here.
She did drink some water. Yeah there's puppies over there, huh?
She's doing okay. She actually threw up a little bit on the way here. What is that? Oh you better
not let Bella eat that. You've got to keep it away from her. She's eyeing it. Oh no. No don't.
Jane don't drop it. That looks really messy so be careful okay. Why always? Why do I always get the
messy? I don't know. Mom don't lick this. Mom don't lick this and now I can't eat it. Peter what did you get?
Cheese and grapes as usual right? Bucky's is always a good stop because you not only get
food you get gas and the bathrooms are really clean which is a huge plus for me. I ended up
getting a chicken burrito. These things are massive but they're pricey too. This one is $8.50.
Arkansas still. We're hoping to make it to Missouri to call it a night. So we've been
driving about 10 and a half but with all the stops it's been about almost 12 hours but we're
doing okay. Me and the kids were just in the back doing some of our schoolwork so I did bring some
of their homeschooling with us and we sat right there and we did a little bit of language arts
and math. We're going to carry it on tomorrow because we have a full day of driving tomorrow
You'll be okay buddy. You'll be just fine okay. I promise. Yeah Peter just threw up. He's had a tough morning.
He didn't eat much breakfast but I think it's the liquids he had this morning.
You're gonna feel just fine okay. You just gotta give your belly a little bit of time to
settle down. It is the next day. Sorry guys I did not close out the vlog. Yesterday when we got to
the hotel we had all our food and we were so tired and we just wanted to eat clean up and go to bed.
This morning has been crazy. We were up by, well I was up by four and everybody else got up around
five. Peter got up a little earlier with me but he's actually sick right now. He had just a little
nibble of his breakfast here at the hotel and then he started throwing up. He's starting to look
a little bit better. Adam just went down the stairs to get the rest of the last bit of stuff in the
truck and he's letting Bella go potty and I think we may hit the road soon. It's uh
7 10. A little over an hour later than we expected to be leaving here
but I'm hanging out in the hotel with Peter.
We're gonna see how he feels in the next few minutes to see if he can get down to the truck
but he's he's got a good nine hours of resting to do. He's looking much better but yeah he's
been throwing up for a little bit of time this morning. The color is back in your face. You're
feeling better? The water? Yes but you can't drink it too fast. You have to do small steps okay?
You think you can make it down to the car? We'll get you nice and cozy?
You want me to sit with you in the back? Okay will that make you feel better?
I think maybe I should. All right we have a nine hour drive
then you get to see grandma and papa and all your cousins. Are you excited?
Okay you good? You don't need that? We can put the trash can away. Ready to go?
Peter has Solly. His water. Knuckle. Good job. Going down.
So this one closes the door, that one opens it. If there's an emergency, only if there's an
and then if you need to call someone, you call them but only for emergencies.
Okay it's gonna be cold. Bundle up, put your jacket over. Oh it's feeling cold.
Okay let's see where's daddy's truck? I think it's over here. Oh I found it in the back. Yeah
oh there's daddy walking Bella. Let's hurry up. The kids have me in the back seat so we are coming
to you from the back seat of the truck. Oh I can see you. So we are. Yes you are, you're right there.
Peter's feeling so much better. We have an elf show over here on Jane's tablet and then we have
Bluey over here on Peter's tablet and they want me to watch them both so I'm going like this the
whole time but we are on the road still in Missouri. We have Kentucky right over here to our right.
It's very very close and we've driven through Kentucky. It has some really pretty parts.
Missouri does too. Yeah lots of trees. It does kind of look like Wisconsin in some ways
but the of course the northern we get, the more dead the earth is showing.
Yes and cold. Mom did you bring the car scavenger hunt? No but I decided that I have my phone so we can
look it up. We play, when we do road trips we play car scavenger hunt so the kids will have to
look for something and whoever finds it first wins. Yesterday we were playing truth or dare.
We were going around the car and everybody had to choose. I spy with my little eye. I spy with my little eye. A yellow V. A yellow V. A yellow V?
So the kids are looking for a yellow V. Look for a yellow V. Sometimes we'll do trivia, sometimes we'll do
a yellow V. Oh a truck behind us. I don't know if you guys can see it in the camera
but yeah road trips are a lot of fun. We road trip quite often and I'm sure if you guys have
been on this channel for some time that you've you've gone on a lot of road trips with us.
We stopped at a small town in Illinois to use the restroom. Adam gassed up the car. It is so cold.
I don't know what the temperature is but it's cold and it's windy. Poor Adam's over there in
just a sweatshirt walking Bella around. He's a trooper but I think after this we're gonna try to
find some lunch but we're making our way. She's doing so much better today. No vomiting from her.
It was just Peter's turn this morning. Adam just came back in the car from using the restroom
inside the gas station. He goes, honey I held a door open for someone and they said thank you.
Like me too. Literally 10 minutes ago at the same gas station and the person said thank you.
It's been a while since we've heard a thank you. Usually people just walk in don't even say
anything. It's so kind. There was a guy at the zoo the other day. I held the door open. He even
touched the door. Yeah they just kind of inched their way in. Don't touch me.
Are you gonna touch the door? We're definitely back in the midwest. If only it was warmer.
We found Jimmy John's. I like Jimmy John's. Kid's got the little Pepe. I like the number seven.
We're officially in
minutes to get there and it is snowing in Green Bay right now. There is going to be a
packer game this evening at 7. Go Pack Go. Go Pack Go. So hopefully they get a win. I'm really hoping
for it today. It's the playoff. Yes. Adding it dinner so we're gonna make it to the house just
in time for dinner but we're all very very tired and ready to get out of this car. Bella especially.
Poor dog. She's been whimpering. She just wants to get out of the car but I think we made our
last stop and then we're gonna keep on driving guys. It is cold. There is definitely a lot of
snow on the ground and yeah I want to just keep going. We're ready to get to Green Bay guys.
Three minutes away guys. We did stop at a gas station to use the restroom. Get Bella out of
the car real quick because she's been whimpering a little bit but we're out of that crazy weather.
It started snowing pretty good and put down the phone and just like wanted to just watch the road
with Adam but we were driving very very slow otherwise we would be there already. I'm slipping right now.
Oh you're slipping? Yeah. Yeah there's a lot of snow on the ground and it's exciting but it's super cold.
She's running to the door. She knows right where we're at.
I'm sorry.
We are here and we've been here for let's see about three hours and I am so tired. Adam's mom
made us dinner and we just kind of chilled out. Kind of sort of unpacked. Basically only unpacked
what we need for tomorrow but the kids are in bed. Adam and I are getting ready for bed right now
and I am so tired. We have to get up very early tomorrow because Adam and I are going into town
to go Christmas shopping. We're also going to stop by a family member's home who just found out that
we're here in town so we're really excited to see her before we go shopping but it's a full day
tomorrow. Tomorrow's Christmas Eve. A lot of things to do and we're gonna bring you guys along for the
majority of it but we made it. Made it to Wisconsin. Cannot believe that this happened. This was a very
very last minute trip but we made it and I'm very happy. On the way to the house here we were
listening to the radio and it's all about the Packers which they just won so they are in the
playoffs so go pack go. But anyways we were listening to the radio and the announcer said
today is the worst day that you could be driving out of the whole year. Like stay off the roads. Do
not drive on the day before Christmas Eve. Anyways I'm gonna get some shut eye. We have to get up very
early and make it into town. We will be bringing you guys along for tomorrow so you have to come
back. Come back tomorrow and enjoy Christmas Eve with our Wisconsin family and it'll be fun. A lot
of shopping. A lot of fun activities with the family and we haven't been able to do this in a
very long time. I think it's been about five years that we have been here in Wisconsin for Christmas
so we're very very excited about that. But with that good night, Merry Christmas, and I'll see you guys tomorrow.
