Do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-do, do-do, do-bo, do-do.
The Romans used to go to a town on holiday
In the south of Italy called Pompeii.
Pompeii, Pompeii, it disappeared one day
Beneath a pile of pumice and ash.
Pompeii, Pompeii, most people got away
But some were killed in a flash.
Do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-do, do-do, do-do, do-do.
Two thousand years ago, pyroclastic flows erupted
From Mount Vesuvius, a volcano.
Pompeii, Pompeii, it disappeared one day
Beneath a pile of pumice and ash.
Pompeii, Pompeii, most people got away
But some were killed in a flash.
It was forgotten for centuries to come
Along with the nearby town of Herculaneum.
But after excavation it's become
A place you can visit like a museum.
Do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-bo, do-do, do-do, do-do.
You can see a Roman city from the past
And dead people turned into plaster casts.
Pompeii, Pompeii, it disappeared one day
Beneath a pile of pumice and ash.
Pompeii, Pompeii, most people got away
But some were killed in a flash.
The moral of this tale you should know
Is don't live near an active volcano
Cos suddenly its top could blow
And kill you in a pyroclastic flow.
Pompeii, Pompeii, it disappeared one day
Beneath a pile of pumice and ash.
Pompeii, Pompeii, most people got away
But some were killed in a flash.
