Jude Bellingham | Best of 2024 | Celebrating My First Champions League
Aaaaah!
Amazing feeling when the final whistle went. I just couldn't really believe it.
It felt real like we'd won the Champions League.
I remember just going onto pitches, jumping up and down,
and the first person that I could see was Jose Lu, and he was in bits.
So I went in and I gave him a hug, jumped up.
I remember walking over past the fans, trying to find my mum and dad.
It was like a film. I said to my friends,
the camera zooms in, it blurs everything out from the side,
and all I could see was my mum, my dad and my brother, and they were smiling.
Yeah, that kind of got me a little bit, and I felt a bit emotional.
There's that many memes and you're crying.
The last thing I wanted to do was cry again, so there'd be more.
Just seeing how much the lads enjoyed it as well.
There's a lot that goes into it.
Seeing how each person reacts differently to the trophies.
Some of the lads have won it about six times,
so it's a different kind of experience for them.
But I think it was really nice for the lads that haven't.
For example, Cameron Bingham has won it before, but he didn't play as big a role.
This year he started in the final, he was great in the final.
Rodriguez, his first start in the final.
Chumane, his first final, first win.
Same for me.
You can enjoy it together more as a first one.
They always say, forget the first one, so that was really nice.
You realise that you're not just playing for your teammates,
you're playing for their family as well.
When we go on the pitch, we all know each other.
The kids all run up to me and want to give me big hugs.
I think just as a team, we all have a really good relationship with each other.
It kind of extends to the families as well.
The best thing was probably doing the lap around the pitch with my mum.
That was really cool.
My mum took the medal and we were all hugging.
We got the Champions League trophy between us and we've all got a hand on it.
Who would have thought to do it at Wembley in England?
I know everyone talks about that, but the romantic and lovely side of it to me
is that I got to have all my family there and come on the pitch
and enjoy that side of it all together.
So that was really cool.
You don't want to show it on camera, you don't want to show Papa some love.
Yes, can you get me a gel spoon?
Hey, got one of these?
Can you get me my f***ing spoon, son?
I've got my over 35 Division 1 cup with me.
Yeah, well that's a loose.
She needs help.
Back at ya, back at ya.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, look at that, killed it.
And then the next day we had all the celebrations started at about five.
Went to like a church.
Then we went to Cybeles which was, oh wicked man.
They were saying like 600,000 people there.
It was like a sea of people out past it.
It was unbelievable.
It was like surreal seeing it.
Because you've seen videos of it before, haven't you?
And you think like, oh that's so good.
And then you actually do it.
Yeah, like the La Liga one was good.
That one was just a different level, man.
It was unbelievable.
I really enjoyed it.
It was having a dance on the bus and everything.
All of the staff was involved as well, which was wicked.
I think one of the guys said that it was by far the best one that they'd done.
Muchas gracias, Potoro.
Y a la Madrid.
It was weighing in the tunnel.
And then they played a short video of the history of all the cups.
And it is so, you know.
To see now what you're a part of is so special, man.
It is so cool.
Especially people who really love football and get to understand the history of the game.
It's nice to see how much the past is important for the present for the club.
And to see what you're now a part of.
Yeah, really, really proud of it.
A couple of the lads started speaking.
It was like the captain of that show.
Obviously Tony, because it was his last game.
And the geezer was on the mic going,
do you believe I'm supposed to say some stuff as well?
And I went, what?
He went, what?
Like that.
And then all the fans started going, do, do, do, do, do.
And all the players were like, go on then.
But only in Spanish.
And so I just sung the song.
We did the trophy lifting.
We lifted Tony again.
He just did this.
He flogged us through.
He's really done it.
It was really cool, obviously.
Especially for Tony's last game.
It was nice because you see a bit more of an emotional side to it.
It was really nice.
Really cool.
So that show looked quite emotional, actually.
Because I think it was his boyhood dream, isn't it?
To kind of be the captain of Madrid.
And to be the one to go to Sevilla's and put the scarf on the lady.
You know, in Sevilla's.
And then to get to the Bernabeu to speak.
You know, when we go to the council and the church,
he always has to speak and go first.
And Lea, Lauro.
I think he takes a lot of pride in that.
Because he's watched all of them as a kid.
He's a mad Real Madrid fan.
He's watched them all.
He understands how much it means to them.
Rib.
Oh, rib.
I'm going to go for the ****** hands.
Rib.
Yeah!
Baby girl!
Give hugs now, hugs.
Yeah.
Ah!
Denise, is it always like this?
Yeah?
That's why I just sit and ignore it, yeah.
Yeah, John.
I get the wax off.
Yeah.
I'm watching the...
******.
I'm watching the video.
******.
Oi!
Do you think that Lucas had a career
where he was at Tottenham for the foot until he was like 27
when he said he didn't win anything for Tottenham?
I don't think he even played in the Champions League.
Tottenham might have won you in the Champions League maximum.
So you think he's done like 10 years at Madrid
and he's won six.
And even the ones where he didn't win, he's got...
I think he only went out in the quarter-final once, twice with Ajax.
It's unbelievable, that level of consistency
and like the standards and that.
It's unbelievable.
Like, to think that now, like, if Lucas also hopefully stay
and Nacho stay and then Carver stay,
that they could go for like seven,
or 11, 12 years.
Unbelievable.
I still want to say it's sunk in though.
I think because, I have to say,
one thing that really makes a difference,
because the other lads have won it so much
and I think they were so relaxed,
it almost makes you feel a bit more, like,
kind of nonchalant about it
and kind of just want to go again for more.
But you have to think like,
especially I think when you go to England
and you realise there's so many great players there
that, for example, maybe haven't won it
or you think about some of the great players of the past
that haven't won it and you think,
well, actually, no, that's wicked
to be able to say you're a Champions League winner.
