hi I'm Lori welcome to my Channel today
we're going to do something super fun
we're going to be making a Valentine's
wreath I'm going to call it pin
wheel I don't know if anyone has done
this before definitely possible but I
had an idea that I thought would be
really cute to do with some striped mesh
so we're going to be using one of the
Dollar Tree
frames okay so the way that I want to do
this
wreath is going to have the edges kind
of standing up so I want to burn the
edges so that I don't have to worry
about it fraying because that would
really take away from how I want it to
look so I'm going to cut I want to cut
my mesh at 15
in this is a wood burning
tool so I'm going to find the 15 in on
my board and I have just a piece of
tempered glass underneath here so that I
won't burn my
table because these wood burners they
get super hot and they will burn your
table so once it's
ready all you're going to do I'm going
to move a little closer so you can
see is you're going to pick your
line and you're just going to drag it
down just like that so you can see it's
going to burn that
edge and then you're not going to have
to worry about it fraying
that's my
dog okay so I'm G to
cut 18 of
these I do like to use my little hot
shot to keep my wood burner on because I
will tell you that it is very easy to
drop these things and burn your carpet
they're
terrible so make sure you're careful
when you're using these
for for
water
that for
[Music]
that
now what I think I do want to do the
that
true
for for
okay
that
whoops damn
[Applause]
it I'll be using this face
that
sucks for
we're going to be making this with one
of the 14in Dollar Tree wreath
frames and some pipe cleaners
so I'm going to take my
mesh and I'm just going to go straight
up the center to make a
ruffle I'm not going to tuck anything
under because I actually have something
I want to do to kind of make it look a
specific
way so let me put this in my little tool
for a
second all right I'm going to
use some pipe cleaners and I'm going to
cut them in
half
okay I'm just going to take a pipe
cleaner I'm going to start at the
crossbar
then I'm going to take my mesh my mesh
I'm going to tie it
down right to that
tie and then similar to the pancake I'm
going to spread it out but I don't want
it to be flat I actually want it to kind
of come up like this like little flowers
or little pin
Wheels you could also
really put them and make them flat but I
really kind of want them to stand
up
okay so then I'll go next to it put
another tie
down I'm going to go over the last two
bars I want them to be
about 3 or 4 in apart so about every 3
three or 4
in we're going to put another
one I'm just going to kind of eyeball it
I'm thinking we will probably have about
three in each section on the bottom
okay take the next
one this time I'm going to use my
tool I'm just going to go straight
up no tucking because we actually did
the little wood burning tool so we don't
need to I'm going to place it
down tie it
down and then
spread it out and I'm going to have the
one next to
it kind of up against it okay so you can
see it's almost like a ruffle but I'm
pushing it up it's kind of the opposite
of a pancake wreath so with the pancake
you're going
to overlap them and then push them down
with this I actually want to push them
up
all right let's do one more and then I'm
going to go around and do the
bottom so three in each
section and then we'll come back and
we'll do the same thing on the
top I'm not going to put any ribbon in
this because what I really want to see
are
these little pin Wheels
they kind of remind me of pin
Wheels
okay so I'm going to just keep going
around doing the same
[Music]
thing so we've gotten all the way around
the bottom doesn't that look
cool okay so we have have six pieces
left I'm going to go ahead and put them
in I'm just going to kind of put one in
each section just to kind of fill it in
a little bit more but um you can either
fill in the bottom a little bit more or
you can do two in the bottom two on the
top and this is just one roll of mesh so
if you wanted
do two layers of this you would probably
need about one and a half rolls not even
quite a half roll but yes one and a half
rolls
okay there we
go but I really wanted to do with this
with just one
roll so I'm just going to kind of fill
in the center of each section
so kind of right in the center I'll go
across the first and second bar the top
two
bars right down the
center and I'm going to twist it just
like I did on the bottom
so kind of like the pancake wreath where
you fold one side over the other but we
want it to stand up instead of lay
down like
that okay I'm going to go ahead and do
the other
[Music]
sections look how pretty that is Isn't
that cool so that's only one roll of
mesh we use the whole roll but it's nice
and full you can't see anything in the
middle so for the center I just want to
do a little love sign so I
have the pink with the love heart and I
have the black and white with the pink
love heart so let's see which one
do I like
better I think I kind of like that
one
okay so I'm just going to
take my weaving
needle I'm going take my hole punch I'm
going to punch a
hole in the top and the
bottom anytime you're working with um
metal signs it's much better just to go
ahead and punch a hole in it it's going
to be more secure I live in the south so
in the
south things do not stick to the back of
the signs such as the adhesive zip tie
mounts those just do not stay on here
here so if I'm doing metal I'm going to
use a metal hole punch if I'm doing wood
I am going to use staples and
a either a pipe cleaner or wire okay so
I'm going to twist it at the edge there
so I
just pull it
through double it up
and just twist it so the wire won't move
then I'm going to bring it over here I'm
going to kind
of move my mesh a little bit because I
kind of want
to Nestle it in there and I really don't
want to cover up any of the pretty
pattern that doing this makes with the
mesh right so I'm going
to put my wire in just like I'm going to
sew something and I can go right
down through the mesh and just kind of
hide it over on the edge like that there
we go then I can get my
sign twisted around the wire frame see
even from the back this looks nice and
neat okay
there we
go it's the same thing at the
bottom and that will be it
there we
go so again just twist it around the
frame this will be cute for any
season it's especially cute I think with
striped mesh but I think it look great
with any
mesh because it's the design it makes
making it kind of like a pin wheel like
an upside
down pancake
wreath
okay oh that is so
cute all right I hope you enjoyed this
this is such a fun project and I didn't
even add any ribbon but it is so
cute I love it so you have to let me
know what you think and you could add a
bow down here if you wanted but I really
want to see how the uh mesh does the
little curling with the little pin wheel
so I don't want to add anything on to it
so I hope you enjoyed this make sure to
