Canada is a country in North America.
Its 10 provinces and three territories
extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the
Pacific Ocean and northward to the
Arctic Ocean, covering over 9.98 million
km, making it the world's second largest
country in the Western Hemisphere. It is
the second largest country in the world
after Russia. The country has a lot to
offer, beginning with its majestic
mountains, glaciers, beautiful scenery,
and extensive remote forests, which are
home to a lot of wildlife. Because it is
such a large country, it should come as
no surprise that there are a lot of
exciting things to see in the country.
Let's look at some of the discoveries in
Canada that no one was supposed to see.
Smoking hills. The smoking hills are
barren red streaked rocks that have been
continuously smoking for centuries. It
looks spooky and it's like a scene
straight out of a thriller movie. In
fact, the smoking hills have spooked
many European explorers that first
visited the remote landscape before an
Irish man named Robert Mccclure
discovered them. The smoking hills are
located in Inov which is located in the
northwestern territories of Canada. The
smoking hills are caused by oil shells
that are located deep underground in the
area. A type of rock known as oil shale
is abundant in a chemical component
known as keragen. These rocks are the
primary source of petroleum products
such as oil and gas. After years of this
continuous process, the landscape of the
area gradually changed. This is why the
rocks surrounding the smoking hills are
baked and bleached by the heat producing
red and orange streaks. We're really
curious about what the previous sailors
thought about this phenomenon. Mechbage.
This is without a doubt the creepiest
and perhaps the most unique McDonald's
in the whole world. Many of us have
tried out McDonald's food at least once
in our lives. Depending on which one you
want, you are currently looking at the
McBarge or the barge. It used to be a
McDonald's restaurant that was floating
in the middle of Canada. It first opened
in the 1986 World's Fair in Canada and
at the time it was a fantastic
attraction. The barge was known as the
Friendship 500 and a large number of
people were excited to dine at the
floating restaurant. The floating
restaurant was situated in an upscale
area and the interior of the barge was
unique and ahead of its time. The
floating restaurant had actual house
plants, wooden floors and walls adorned
with fine arts and top-notch furniture
inside the customers was served via
conveyor belts which was considered to
be a very different concept. It was
cuttingedge technology in its time and
many considered it a must-see
attraction. However, after the expo, it
was quickly neglected and it stayed
abandoned until 1991 when a real estate
developer purchased the facility to
transform it into an ocean and
underwater establishment. Unfortunately,
today it remains covered in scaffolding
and fenced off from the public. Dinosaur
mummy. In 2011, miners in Alberta,
Canada, made a truly remarkable
discovery when they came across an
unusual fossil that is now thought to be
among the best preserved dinosaur
remains ever discovered. The dinosaur
was a new type of armored prehistoric
animal. When its skeleton was finally
put on display, it looked like it was
looking at an 18 ft sleeping dragon.
This creature could have existed 180
million years ago. When you see this
dinosaur, it's obvious that the 110
million years of waiting and nearly
impossible excavation were all worth it.
Apocalyptic ark. During the Cold War, a
guy by the name of Bruce Beach created
an ark to protect himself from the
impending nuclear holocaust because he
was so terrified of what might happen.
The man built the largest private
fallout shelter in the world by
connecting 42 school buses he had
purchased in the 1980s in the Ontario
village of Horning Mills north of
Toronto. His friends, family, and
co-workers assisted him in this
endeavor. The facility can hold 500
people for the duration needed to safely
return to the surface after a
catastrophic nuclear event. Now we'll
know where to go in any future disaster.
Shipwreck in a lake. Researchers
discovered a commercial sailing vessel
shipwreck in a lake in Ontario. The
wreckage is approximately 200 years old
as it sank into the lake on the 6th of
November 1803 due to a fierce storm. The
ship was caught during its voyage from
India with fully loaded cargo goods.
Though there were no passengers on the
ship, all five crew members perished
during the unfortunate incident. What
the researchers found most shocking was
that even after two centuries, the ship
was intact. Snapdragon's seed pod. The
dried seed pods resemble tiny brown
shrunken skulls when the snapdragon
flowers die, demonstrating how bizarre
nature can be. According to ancient
cultures, this snapdragon seed port
resembles little dragon jaws that open
and close when you gently squeeze the
sides of the flowers. It was believed
that planting snapdragons into your
garden would protect you from witchcraft
and deceitful curses. Another urban
legend holds that eating snapdragons
will make any lady look and feel younger
and more beautiful. Woolly mammoth.
During an excavation in the Klondike
gold fields, Canadian woolly mammoth
miners discovered something more
valuable than gold. Chuga. The stunning
preserved baby which measured just 4.5
ft long and had much of her hair and
skin intact. The baby mammoth,
considered a relative of modern
elephants, likely roamed alongside wild
horses, cave lions, and giant step
bison. Fair's forest. The majority of us
were fans of fairies in the enchanted
forest when we were children. Still,
these brothers from Canada turned their
childhood dream into reality. David and
Peter Brown were given a portion of the
forest for farming. Still, instead of
turning into a field, they decided to
make it a fairy land. They decorated the
forest with hundreds of small colorful
huts that give you the feeling of being
in an animated world. The place has an
elaborate display of over 400
handiccrafted fairies. Red octopus. Look
at those squirming tentacles. These
Canadian fishermen mistakenly caught a
raging red octopus in a prawn trap in
British Columbia. Unsure of how to
handle it, they ultimately released a
kraken back into the water. The red
octopus may be beautiful, but its bite
is potent, and the painful effects can
last for days, weeks, or longer. 14,000
years old ice village. Archaeologists
discovered a village from the ice age
that was 14,000 years old on Treekit
Island, 310 mi northwest of Victoria,
Canada. The discovery is thought to be
three times older than the Egyptian
pyramids, and several artifacts were
found, including tools for making fire,
fishing hooks, and spears. Bloated whale
carcass. In 2014, the locals of New
Foundland had the carcass of a blue
whale wash up the shore. This startled
them because of its abnormal size. It
turns out that the whale was inflated
and it could have exploded at any time.
According to some scientists, the 81 ft
whale was believed to have died in heavy
ice a few weeks before washing up on the
shore. After its death, it bloated to
about twice its normal size. The body of
the whale was just bloated with methane
gas which was caused by decomposition.
It was so bloated that it seemed as
though it would bloat and explode at any
time. However, the researchers assured
the locals that it would deflate just
like a balloon. And shortly after this,
it was removed from the premises.
Bigfoot skull. Nathaniel Peterson, an
American YouTuber and wildlife
presenter, once took all of his
followers by surprise when he claimed to
have found the skull of Bigfoot while
exploring the Canadian forest. He first
posted a video on Facebook saying that
he had found a non-human primate skull.
According to him, it had a mysterious
background. Nathaniel then uploaded the
video on YouTube titled Bigfoot skull
found in Canada where he found a skull
that was embedded in mud. He then put it
down on the grass beside the ravine,
which is where he declared that the
skull was in fact that of a primate.
Alien activity. Canada has been said to
have a lot of alien activity going on.
In fact, the Canadian government has
recently brought to light the fact that
they have 20 years's worth of reports
describing the so-called alien activity.
To prove this, the government has
released 500 plus reports spanning
nearly 300 pages each. These reports
contain dozens of strange sightings from
commercial pilots, soldiers, and even
police officers. But could all this
really be true? The Devil's Hole. There
is a group of islands known as the
Discovery Islands and they are located
at the northern end of the Salish Sea at
the eastern end of the Jstone Strait.
This is between Vancouver Island and the
mainland coast of British Columbia. The
waters around the Discovery Islands have
always been the link between the coast
and the islands. However, they always
face local tidal rapids which happen to
be the most powerful in the northern
hemisphere. They have even taken lives
as well as many vessels. Tidal rapids
are a natural occurrence. They occur
when a fastmoving tide passes through a
narrow passage creating waves.
Eventually, they lead to the formation
of wellpools such as this one. Snake
mating. The discovery broadens our
understanding of how early humans
interacted with snakes by demonstrating
how they once observed snakes mating.
Tens of thousands of redsided garter
snakes spend their winters in the dens.
In the spring, you can witness the
annual mating ritual in which one female
is surrounded by up to 100 males to form
a mating ball. The most thrilling part
is that you're allowed to pick up and
handle the snakes. Don't worry, these
tiny garter snakes are not poisonous,
and their tiny teeth won't even pierce
your skin. Lake Abraham. When the
temperature around Lake Abraham drops
dangerously low in the winter, ice forms
on its surface, trapping the frozen
methane bubbles inside it. These methane
bubbles are caused by the release of
methane gas, which is created when
bacteria at the lakes's bottom eat
decaying organic waste and release vast
amounts of bubble forming methane that
floats upwards. People even attempt to
amuse themselves by staging a fire
experiment with them. Spotted Lake. This
lake is located in the Okonagan Valley
in British Columbia, Canada. As the name
of the lake suggests, it is spotted with
strange polka dotlike rings. The
concentration of a wide variety of
minerals in spotted lake is
exceptionally high. Its deposits contain
considerable amounts of magnesium
sulfate, calcium sulfate, and sodium
sulfate. Additionally, it has a
relatively high concentration of eight
additional minerals in addition to a
lower quantity of silver and titanium.
The majority of the lakes's water
disappears throughout the summer,
exposing the lakes's vibrant mineral
deposits. Large spots emerge on the lake
surface and their colors change
depending on the types of minerals
present and the amount of precipitation
that falls over the different seasons. A
significant portion of the spot color
comes from the crystallization of
magnesium sulfate during the warm summer
months. During the summer, the minerals
that are still present in the lake begin
to harden, which results in the
formation of natural walkways around and
between the locations. Aliens spotted.
Whenever the topic of aliens and
extraterrestrial creatures come up, they
are often portrayed as hideous,
skinless, and frail humanoid beings.
Some might even agree that it is the
same as the one portrayed in this
picture. This has got to be the
strangest thing to have ever been
discovered in Canada. The country is
very rich when it comes to wildlife, but
I highly doubt that this is part of the
Canadian forests. They are isolated, so
it's not too far-fetched that it hides
some pretty interesting and bizarre
creatures, such as this unknown creature
in the hands of this man. What do you
think about this discovery? Let us know
in the comments below. Guards of snakes.
For those of you who are terrified of
snakes, this is definitely a worst
nightmare. In Manitoba, a small town in
Canada, there is a horrific attraction
that happens every year. This is where
the black striped snakes pile up as seen
in the video. These are known as
redsided garter snakes. This is when
they emerge from hibernation. And as
much as it is terrifying seen, some
people consider this an amazing and
enjoyable one. In fact, thousands of
tourists rush to the small town of
Manitoba. But they are all no match for
the more than 50,000 garter snakes
making their way to the surface while
the others head underground. They all go
underground to the limestone caverns
when the harsh winter weather kicks in
and they wait until their bodies can
function. And during this massive
slumber party, some of them will find
mates. Even though they look terrifying,
they're actually harmless. Most local
consider them nature's pest control.
Unlike their cousins who can squeeze and
choke creatures twice their size, these
small snakes will only eat small rodents
such as mice and moles. So if you have a
rodent problem, this is one of the best
pest control that you can get yourself.
Ancient bacteria revealed. Climate
change has had a great effect on the
polar regions causing crater perafrost
in Fort McFersonen in Canada's Northwest
Territories. The warming temperatures
have caused previously frozen layers to
melt and this has led to the exposure of
organisms that produce carbon dioxide in
the air. Scientists are saying that the
frozen organisms on that surface are now
being exposed to the air leading to an
increase in the production of carbon
dioxide. This in turn contributes to the
greenhouse effect. Over the past few
years, warming in the Arctic has
exceeded some projections so rapidly
that scientists are now suggesting that
the poles are becoming warmer four times
faster than the rest of the globe.
Because of this, the glacia is melting
and the perafrost stall levels that were
not expected until 2050 or later in
northern Canada have started showing.
This abrupt thawing has led to the
formation of sunken landforms known as
thermocst where the oldest and the
deepest permafrost is being exposed to
the warm air for the first time in 100
years. This is why there is a greater
fear of climate change. Zombie
pathogens, specifically bacteria and
viruses preserved for centuries coming
back to life as the Arctic's perafrost
starts to thaw. Wreck of HMS Terra found
in the Arctic. The second of Sir John
Franklin's long list ships, the HMS
Terror, was found in the Canadian Arctic
in early September by the Arctic
Research Foundation. Researchers
discovered the wreck in the aptly named
Terra Bay after Sammy Cogv of Joah Haven
told the research vessel Martin Bergman
crew that he'd spotted a wooden mast
sticking out of the sea ice in Terra Bay
about 6 years ago. The ship made a
detour to investigate the area. Parks
Canada, which has led the search for
Franklin ships for decades, confirmed
the wreck's identity after
archaeologists had the opportunity to
visit it. Though the remains of both the
HMS Arabus and the HMS Terror have now
been found, there are still many
mysteries about the Franklin expedition
and what happened to British explorer
said John Franklin and his crew of 128
men. Rare petroglyphs. Ancient rare rock
art was discovered by archaeologists
with the help from bison at the
Waneskiwin Heritage Park near Saskatoon,
situated Canada. According to a report,
the park's founder and co-discoverer of
the four sacred stones, Ernie Walker,
said the discovery so significant that
the site will now be considered by
UNESCO for the world heritage status.
The group of engraved rocks represent
tangible evidence of the first nations
culture that coexisted with vast herds
of plain bison in North America before
the arrival of the first European
explorers in the 16th century. In the
1970s, Ernie Walker worked near
Saskatoon while studying archaeology. In
the early 80s, he signed a league with
the city of Saskatoon for the Waneskiwin
Heritage Park. Silver Coin from Henry
V7th's reign. New Foundland Land is a
large island of the east coast of
Canada. Recently, archaeologists
discovered a silver coin there which was
minted during the reign of the first
monarch of the House of Tudor, Henry
VIIIth. This is likely to be the oldest
English coin ever found in Canada, if
not the entire continent of North
America. The Daily Mail reports that it
is a half gross or a two penny piece.
And this silver coin was found this year
in New Foundland, a former British
colony. It was minted at the end of the
15th century, somewhere between 1493 and
1499, which makes it over 500 years old.
Henry VIIIth ruled England between 1485
and 1509 and is widely credited with
restoring the honor, power, and
stability of the English crown and
peacefully handing over the crown to his
successor Henry VIII. That's all for
today. Which part of this video did you
